It's crazy watching the video dedicated to the Radicalz and realizing we're finally there in Reliving the War, feels like so long ago. It was one of the first videos of yours that I watched that I subscribed soon after. I always love your videos on feuds or angles that I either barely remember or didn't even know happened.
Its such a shame that Eddie got hurt on this night and it kind of threw off the intended plans for the Radicalz debut and them losing all their matches.
Fun fact: This episode exposed Gangrel for being overweight, as was told to loose some of it. When he didn't, he ended up getting fired a while after this
Mark Henry’s told some crazy Mae Young stories over the years, she was as much of a wild card IRL as she was on TV. She deserves a lot more credit than she gets for being one of the toughest people (not just women, but people) to ever lace a pair of wrestling boots.
@@ArchangelSteve Heard that story….if you go back and watch the video, you can catch Mae squeezing his hand, giving him the ok. Very subtle, and you’d never notice it if you weren’t looking for it, but it’s there.
I hope you do the Smackdown episode from May 11, 2000 where Vince gives his “Life sucks and then you die” promo. That promo is so legendary that the episode should get covered as part of RTW.
Checking DDT Digest and on Thunder: Sid competed in Triple Threat Theatre against Rotunda, Rick Steiner and The Harris Brothers. End of show saw him get battered by the nWo. Hogan returned and got into a feud with Total Package. DDP defeated The Machine after Machine crotched himself on the top rope.
Fun fact: the “shut up juice” line originated from Conan O’ Brien. It was during an interview segment with the Rock and Conan said the line, and then the writer wrote that line for the Rock. I don’t know if this was the first time he used that (or if he ever used it more than the one time), but if it’s not, then it would have been whenever he first used it.

The wwf played it so smart in the monday night wars one advantage wcw had was a stacked roster. In 1999 the wwf recruitment must have been planning to get the radicalz, dudley Boyz jericho and big show. As we watch more of 2000 we will see that planning play such a crucial role
I'm very excited about the upcoming RLW episode, because we have one of the hottest damn crowds in the history of the Monday Night Wars about to happen. The fallout from this Smackdown, resulted in an unbelievable 10-man tag which was a damn showcase.

Because I didn't watch WCW (didn't have cable at the time) I didn't know anything about any of the members of the Radicalz, but I do remember that I was rather impressed with the in-ring work all of them because of this episode despite them losing all their matches... and I for one was very interested to see more from all of them. It may be that because I didn't watch wrestling from 1992 to Smackdown's debut in 1999, so I wasn't jaded by the more predictable bookings and the behind the scenes garbage from the past decade. So I didn't see this as an utter burial like so many other fans did at the time, and still do today.
I hope you read your comments. I tapped out a LONG TIME AGO when it happened IRL. But... Rewatching it all with you has been a fun, nostalgic experience. Maybe if I had you as a bud to watch wrestling with, I would have stated with it. DO NOT THINK, that when The War ends, your job if over!!! So Steve Austin breaks his neck and hooks Owen with a horrible school boy to keep the storyline going, but the best they could come up with is for the Outlaws to pin the Radicalz and make the entire team go 0-3? Hey, I’ve never separated a shoulder. I can’t imagine how painful it could be, but just having Eddie take the loss seemed like the most needlessly complicated way of ending the match.
You must remember business was better this point on and they had big plans for Austin at that time. TELL ME You don’t actually believe they had big plans for the Radicals.

Looking at the later storyline the Radicalz turned on Mick Foley because HHH offered them a contract if they did so in hindsight this kind of made sense but I think, once the tag team match had gone south, having Benoit win would have made more sense. Consider an angle where all the Radicalz except Benoit had been given contracts - there's a load of twist and turns in there and I think they missed a trick.
It's always struck me as odd that eddie called for RD to pin him, instead of saying "I'm hurt, has perry pin you". And basically the overall story goes as planned.
Benoit should have won this match. Have a giant smoz at the end with DX, the Radicalz, Rock, and Big Show come out and Benoit capitalizes. Keeps HHH strong but also doesn’t completely burry the Radicalz in one night.

He should have never agreed to that storyline

I doubt Vince had other plans other than them losing, injury or no injury. Its what they loved doing to ex-WCW wrestlers.
There was an easy fix, if only Vince and HHH were willing to have HHH lose clean to Benoit.
