The only Guy who took a bunch of Veterans and no names and without any actuall Allstar to an NBA Championship ! One of the greatest who ever touched a basketball ! Salute
He is the most inspiring person whether you are a basketball fan or not. His values and attitude is worth emulating. He should have won two rings though but regardless, no one stopped him in becoming a champion and it is really amazing. To me he is GOAT.
DIRK is one of the BIG reasons why i LOVE BASKETBALL. i am very very fortunate in this lifetime that i got to nowitzness and somehow feel the pain and glory of redemption he felt and know that a lot of people love this AMAZING man just like me. Danke DIRK!! 💪💪
I Think I've Watched Their Championship Win A Million Times. The Entire Dallas Franchise Deserved It But That Dirk MOST DEFINITELY Deserved It. Being From Dallas And Going To A Few Games And Being Able To See Him In Action On The Court From The 2nd Row Was Amazing. He Will Most Definitely Be The King Of Dallas Forever💯
Dirk carried his team to championship without any other all star in his team, he stayed and remained loyal to Dallas Mavericks, the guy even took paycuts just to let his other teammates play on the court. He is and will always be a champion on whatever court.
Funny, I'm a UNC fan and more of a college basketball fan in general. Not even a pseudo-Mavs fan or along those lines. We offered this kid from Oklahoma (Brady Manek) a few hours ago and I came to UA-cam to checkout his game. Instantly I thought of Dirk, as I'm guessing he modeled his jumper after him. Next thing I knew, I've spent the last two hours watching Dirk highlights and it ultimately led me here. First off, well done. Strong Friday Night Lights vibes and I mean that in the most positive way possible. I don't normally comment on videos, but this one compelled me to say I've always admired Dirk's perseverance from afar. His basketball story is something that seems so rare in this new NBA world. Where you have players jumping from team to team, after their rookie deal, trying to create a bunch of mini-super-teams with their buddies like it's AAU. Or some taking their supermax and then forcing a trade... I probably sound like an oldhead and that's fine. Dirk's champion is far more valuable than giving your team 2-3 years and trying it again for another franchise and I have zero issue fighting on that side of the argument. If he never won one like other greats did (including one featured in this video), so what? Championships are something to be earned. Bravo, Dirk. He earned his and all the respect he gets for who he was as a basketball player and person.
I think we all would, my friend. Dirk is a hell of a guy. I could have made this thing 45 minutes long if time allowed, easily. He's that interesting of a person. I think most people in/around Dallas feel like Dirk is a part of the family. He's meant so much to us.
The German Wunderkind bring Dallas his first Title in his HISTORY !!!And the First German Basketball Player in the American Basketball Hall of Fame !!!!!!!!! DÖÖÖRK
There’s a reason why when all that stuff was coming out about the Mavs front office the women said the locker room was the safest place for them. It’s because it was Dirks locker room and the guy is 100% class.
We all know he's a legend in the DFW area but most people i hear describe him as an even better person off the court. That's genuine. Watch the episode when he got punked. My man was signing autographs for a little kid who took it to far. He had Dirk sign another player's jersey. I've enjoyed the ride with him with the "ups and downs" as he likes to say.
dirk deserves only respect. takes paycuts to get good players, doesnt run to other clubs, just bc they have more money, or better chance to get star players! Im happy, that Luka an Porzingis is in MAVS now- i hope they wil catch Dirks awesome vibe, and respect to the game! one love big guy! p.s damn ninjas cutting onions in my house!
HAHAHAH. YESSSS! I am glad to hear that it made you cry. I've watched this video (throughout the editing process) HUNDREDS of times and it still gets me emotional.
As A Dallas Fan We really Appreciate The Spurs Fans For the Love And almost Respect for Our Legend..what A high Class organization.. I felt The Same with Duncan when he Retired Two of my Childhood Basketball Hero’s now Gone Forever!!!!😭😭😭ONLY BITTER AND HATE LOVE MEMORYs To Reflect ON😥😥😥😥 Thank U Dirk And TiMMY For the Unforgettable memories...
Gieson De la Torre song 1 at the very beginning of the video is called The Mighty Rio Grande by This Will Destroy You. Song 2 which chronicles dirks successes and failures in the earlier parts of his career is called I Am by Awolnation. (All of these things made me who I am-that was the theme I was going for there). Song 3 is Outro by M83... Its supposed to symbolize Dirk finally reaching the plateau. Becoming legendary. Dirk was already a legend to Mavs fans but this part of the video was designed to capture the feeling that we all get when we think of “Dirk.” Just an amazing man. Amazing ball player. And a champion.
Did you have to pick m83 for the second song?😖 Gives me that beautiful sad mood! Dirk deserved at least 2 more titles in his career. Wow so many years without a supporting cast that could score like him. He will always be in my top 10 all time and my personally favorite player!
When Dirk ran to the ball after Jason missed it🙁. I remember asking my uncle why he missed that 3...but I was so happy when we put LeBron in his place!
Dirk is the best example of a champion
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Yes without a doubt

false, JH was a allstar but got injured
@@Don-gu1mx did he play in the playoffs ? he was down way before that.
@@svenkreuzberg2274 He got traded to Washington. We got Butler but he got injured during the title run.
Beating a superteam too.. Dirk deserves all the praise... What a player he was 🙌🍻

Aside from Kobe, I highly respect Dirk as one of the most loyal players in the NBA. He didn't ring chase, he is the definition of an NBA player.
you are absolutely correct. a rare breed. Lillard is the only player in today's NBA that I can think of who is doing sort of the same thing.
DIRK is one of the BIG reasons why i LOVE BASKETBALL.

The only European guy to win MVP season & NBA final he broke the barrier that no foreign NBA player does. Love u man
Dirk is the best in my eyes, Mavericks for life
The German had the sweetest touches! I was fortunate to be living in Texas when he won the championship!
me as well, he was my grandmas favroite player til she passed away last year, THANK YOU DIRK!!!!!

He's a great basketball player but an even greater human being.
I cried man, great video
Wow video being a tears to my eyes. He is my favorite player. It going to be a sad day when he retires. Thank u dirk
That day has come
Thank you for the compliment. I take it as a compliment when someone comments on this video that they cried. That was absolutely the intention.

Great work! Dirk is truly special, it's a travesty management has bungled building a team around him. what's the name of the song at the beginning?
+Hann Mao The tracks are: The Mighty Rio Grande by This Will Destroy You, I Am by Awolnation and Outro by M83!
Thank you for the kind words

Yes I'm a Spurs fan but I luv Dirk as well
Yes!! All of this!
Gosh that move he put on Bosh, I'll never forget it.
Very interesting and emotionally driven music for this king Dirk mixtape. Usually music choices for these types of vids are so cliché and kinda cheesy
Thanks man - yes the music was pretty much the #1 priority here, and I chose songs that helped tell the story I wanted to tell. Thank you!
Wow my tears is falling down 😭best championship ever for me
Thank you sir!!
finally getting around to check your vid, from a red raider fan to a northern kentucky fan i say thank you for this
YOOO I appreciate the love, sir!
Ur d man dirk!salute😉

DAM I MISS THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jason Terry will forever have a great comeback for Lebron. All Lebron had is a poster 😂 Dirk is an amazing person and player. Great tribute

Eisen Dieter you got that right buddy

Dirk's only championship is better than Lbj's 2 chips with the heat. Am i the only one who believes that?

I going to miss you Dirk when you retire:(
🔥🔥🔥
Nice video. Dirk's a legend.
Only his hometown is spelled "Würzburg" 😉
HAHAHAHA Damn it maybe that's why I can't get a RT on this video!!!
Tears and pains we got 1 we got 1...
Dirk the most beautiful shot ever!

Kyle Craven well done bro because It got me raining!
@@idm4christ I really do appreciate that!!
Dirk may only have 1 ring, but that 1 ring weighs more than 2 rings.
wow.. all i can say !!

My dream is to meet u some day idol
Did you see his brother in the crowd?
HAHA one of the funniest moments of his career!
What if the Bucks/ Mavs trade never happened
Terry should’ve passed it 💯😬 4:08
bruhhh, been saying this for 15 years now. you nailed it.
@@kylecraven1916 Either Howard on the opposite end or Jerry could’ve went into the paint and drew a foul 😒🤦🏽♀️
