Teared up a bit, I'll be honest. To see a man who has dedicated his life to food have the opportunity to experience the sheer expression of another chef's work-so touching.
Same here. Josh chose a great chef and restaurant to represent Korea I feel like. The chef was incredibly respectful and was even a fan of the channel. Love to see Mr Z admire a peer
Man was obsessed with food, remember that he spent almost everything to eat out every day for a whole year. Excessive, but he really wanted to try everything the region has to offer. He's not some nobody off of the street, but he does act like he's a fanboy (compliment) and appreciate a good dish.
The fact that Mr. Z learnt Korean phrases to compliment the chef is really admirable. And also from the way he pronounced those Korean phrases, it feels like he has been practicing them because they sound surprisingly fluent. Loving this series already!
Romance languages have more sounds than English. So pronouncing and even learning new languages is easier. Ask an English speaker to do a nasal sound and he'll struggle a lot.
As italian and a Korean learner, I think that for us is easy to learn Korean pronunciation cuz basically we have similar sounds expacially for the vowels. Vowels sound are the same.
Mr. Z’s Korean really shocked me the pronunciation was really good and I love the amount of happiness you just see as he tries new dishes. I also like the fact that he’s intrigued by the culture and flavors of Korean delicacies like someone might be like ew that’s gross but Mr. Z has such a respect for food that even if it might not be to his palette he can respect and be intrigued by it
Can we appreciate how much the chef integrated Korean history in with his dishes? I love the little stories he told about each dish and how they were created.
So glad Mr.Z went from a passing mention in a video to a guest, and now part of KE/Jolly in a way. Can't wait to see what the rest of this series has to offer
@@newman716ET its so crazy to think that he went from a Secret Mystery chef Ollie just randomly found to make luxury sandwiches for Jolly to being their friend and a VERY welcome guest on both channels!
Yes! And from the 250 pound sandwich covered in gold leaf video I thought he'd be a pretentious snob (OK maybe he's a little pretentious lol), but he's genuinely a great, funny guy who is just really passionate about food. I was honestly amazed by how above and beyond he went to give them his "crescendo" tour of Emilia-Romagna, about time Josh and Ollie returned the favour!
It's amazing how the head chef came for this and prepared a special dish for the famous Italian chef guest, and yet, the one he was most excited to serve was Josh since he's a fan. That was an insane start. I need to go there...
Dude. At this point in time, I don't think I have the capability to taste all of the food they're tasting (and I don't mean that bitterly, I just mean that realistically). But their reactions, their appreciation makes me soo happy, as if I'm tasting the food myself. Incredible people working in front of and behind the camera. An amazing team! Thank you for bringing this piece of love letter to Korea to us, KE team. Truly, what a joy to watch! 🥲🥰
A thing, among many, that I really like watching this, is how Mr. Z is analyzing the food. Because he is a world class chef himself, he wants to understand "how is this so good". When he tastes something new, he's analyzing the taste, aromatics, aftertaste and flavour-combinations. It's amazing to watch. This series is going to be an amazing crescendo :)
And not just he understands the food, but he' understands the Chef and his passion to create amazing dishes. In a way, its a mutual understanding between 2 great artists
This feels like a whole different series compared to the other ones, it feels so special to finally invite someone who is so knowledgeable and experienced in the cuisine world
That's a very appreciative customer. And he used a very formal honorific for sugohaseyo. I am impressed with Mr Z. I went into sensory overload just watching the dishes come through. This is art. This is history. That is a chef who has creativity and such excellent pairing for condiments. Wow. My mind is kinda blown by today's episode. Today's episode is not just introducing Korean food to people around the world, it's a real cultural lesson. Wow.
The comments from Mr. Z is just perfection.. the knowledge and the comparison is amazing, his appreciation to the beef is just so cute.. The only hope i have is, they don't stuck with too much "the best this and that", because i kinda want to see Mr. Z trying korean street food as well
The way Mr. Z gives insights about each course shows us how he's serious when it comes to food. It's so refreshing to hear indepth descriptions rather than saying how good the food is. Thanks KE for giving him the best Korean foodtrip!
I love this episode! I love how Mr. Z is just giving us additional explanations into what's in the food, what ingredients add to the taste profile, how genuinely open and curious and honest his reactions were, and of course, amazed at how quickly he picks up the Korean phrases!!! I can't wait for the rest of the series!
I loved this. Mr. Z is one of my favourites on this channel. He is simultaneously the most authentic yet most performative people you have had on the show (I mean that in a good way!). I love his personality and his genuine love for good food. This series is going to be awesome.
"We're having the best beef in Korea. We should also have some of the most interesting delicacies in Korea." Mr. Z has such a wonderful and open mindset. Very admirable!
what a refreshing take! usually Josh is the one explaining all the techniques and cuts of meat. But this time, all Josh needs to do is translate and Mr. Z just takes over the explaining! So excited for this series!
Yep! First time I saw him on the other channel I thought he was a bit arrogant, but this video confirmed that he's just a typical Italian who's very defensive about his own culture. Everything else he's super polite and an absolute joy to watch.
I love this because we're actually hearing it from a professional and only they can describe fully why/how those flavors come together into spectacular awesomeness in your mouth.
What I love about this channel is how Josh’s love and enthusiasm for Korean food and culture has not diminished over these many years. Most people start to see all the bad after the honeymoon period is over, but Josh knows that sharing your great experiences with others is what keeps that first impression and that first love going strong. This channel is crescendo. ❤
I love Mr.Z. Usually the downside of mukbang/food themed videos is you simply can't smell or taste the food. But the way this man describes the food in so much details seems to transcend this barrier.
This feels like some kind of food movie or anime. With Mr. Z despite being world class chef himself but still having kind of childish passion for exploring new flavors, these series will be some of the greatest food trips ever recorded.
My favourite Gordon Ramsay videos are the ones where it is just him going into different countries and hitting very off the beaten path places and trying their stuff. This scratches the same itch except on the high dining end lol. But that said, I would love to see Josh and Ollie do a G.R. off the beaten path in Korea series, I would watch the hell out of that lol
@@jefferyschollooh I would love that too! Have they ever done a video where they tried MAKING some of this food? I would love to see them making kimchi in a huge kiddy pool with some local grandmas
I love having a series with such a talented chef involved too. It's like elevating everything this channel is about. Not only do we learn about Korean foods and culture from Josh, but Mr Z is able to give us some background and science behind the food and what he's looking for in it.
Seeing someone who appreciates and love food as much as Mr Z does enjoy it, is so beautiful. I feel like I can taste the food with how he describes it. The emotions when he eats it too is like being sent to me through the screen as well. I am so excited for the rest of this series.
I can't imagine how floored Josh must have felt to hear the number one Korean BBQ chef say that HE was a big fan of HIM! That is so cool. Loved the video, it's gonna be really interesting to see what gems they've got in store for him to experience!
I love the chef's open mindedness... with his palate and cooking experience, he could easily be bored and snooty, but he's not - he's so appreciative and curious! what a great guy....
Josh who is shocked telling mister Z about the 21 courses, and mister Z instantly becomes happy. That reaction is priceless. The fact the first thing he does is sharing the beef with the crew shows how much value Mister Z puts in sharing the food and the experience. This is going to be such an interesting series. The way how mister Z instantly analyzes the food and gives a detailed report. Can't wait for the rest! Please do an after movie at the end of the series with the questions what kind of food and techniques Mister Z is going to use in his own cooking.
It's kind of amazing to me that the head chef, who won the national award two years in row, is a big fan of KoreanEnglishman. Just a huge group of people who admire each other's work.
15:50 - 16:08 whoever edited this and added these effects, very well done! Very well done! I’m so glad to see Mr Z enjoying the meal A LOT! Honestly, this looks like possibly one of the top 3 hardest challenges for KEMan team: literally to impress a world class chef! ✌️👏🤯🤩🥰
Watched it three times in a row and each time I see Mr Z holds back his imotions after eating the fish and beef combo, it hits deep. On behalf of every one who enjoyed watching. Thank you so much. Josh+olly, Mrz cam team editing team. Can't wait for the next one.
it's a so refreshing to see Mr. Z eat something he has never heard of/seen in his life. his smile just brightens the whole video. i am literally so happy for him
Loved everything about this. Especially how Mr. Z was so attentive to how everything was being prepared. He has such an understanding of food; he knows how each pairing is meant to add, enhance, or balance the taste of something, and it's so insightful. I really enjoyed watching him enjoy this experience. I'm already wondering what he's going to get up to in the kitchen after this trip, trying to incorporate all these flavors and combinations he's experiencing in Korea. :')
I have NEVER been more excited to see 2 people eat food. It's nice that it's with a chef to another chef that can truly appreciate the technical side as well as the flavor pairings involved in creating such a magnificent meal. Guess Mr. Z is just going to have to put Korea on his travel list more often just to "drop by" for the best beef in the world.
I can tell this series is going to be incredible. Watching someone whose entire life revolves around food getting to learn and try new things is just amazing. Mr. Z has wonderful energy and is just a joy to watch :)
ive ben watching you guys for years and got to say this series with MrZ is probably my favourite. its just so cool to see someone that's passionate about food try new things and loving them. really cool
I love hearing someone actually articulate what they love about the food and to describe it. Watching someone that truly knows and loves food enjoy something and share with us why is so refreshing and even though I don't eat meat, watching Mr. Z was a joy.
This tasting menu is a real showcase and I wonder how much it might cost to enjoy such a meal. Great guest to have for this though, he had the palate and vocabulary to describe it for us who can only dream of experiencing it ourselves! Sorry you missed this, Ollie!
That was such a fun episode . I was literally only smiling the whole time. Loved the commentary as well. You can feel the passion about food in the entire episode. I'm so excited for the next episode!
Loved seeing Mr. Z seeing the ice cooking technique for the first time, an incredible educational moment of the value of experiencing other cultures because this is a man who has dedicated his life to the art of cooking and he never heard of this extremely effective method until he came to another country. Truly an amazing thing to see
Always makes me so happy and lifts my spirits to watch you guys 💗💗 and Mr Z finally in Korea! So thankful I found Korean Englishman, Jolly, and Gabi awhile back
I can imagine Chef Z went home and can't stop thinking about korean beef now - and how he can get his hands on some for his cooking! Great job Jolly team - wonderful to see them bring grand experiences cross culturally. 🎉
I think that's what is gonna make this series more entertaining. Josh introducing and teaching Mr Z about Korea and it's food culture, and in return Mr Z is teaching him and us as the viewers cooking methods, what complements food, his own experiences and knowledge as a chef
I wish I ate this when I was in Korea. Then I remembered the budget for this kinda 20 course meal meat... But thank you Josh and Ollie for introducing so much food to us internationals! I love the seafood at Noryangjin Fish Market with the British kids and how you invite Italian chef boss to such a meal. Your hospitality is admirable and amazing! Moshiseo!!
Wow. I mean this is an entirely different feel to KE. I feel like I learned so many things from every person involved. That was utterly enjoyable. I cannot wait for the next episode of the Korea trip with Mr. Z.
this is one of my favorites vids in a while im ngl he's a really good guest i'm glad u r finally introducing him to korean food and im glad u brought him to korea i'm excited for this series
the way mr z describes the food and the experience brings a tear to my eye. i love how passionate he is about food. from that alone you can tell this series is gonna be incredible!
This is gonna be such a great series... Mr. Z is already getting treated to K-food treasures like meongge, not to mention this epic, epic meat - and this is just the start!
Love how josh tried to include the fact that Italy has one of the greatest pork but Mr Z is all “ listen it’s not about Italy right now it’s about beef in Korea” haha so humble love it
The friendship you guys have made is so cute. Lord Z thought of feeding Ducky, I'm going to pass out. He's truly been inducted into this family. So sweet
i love love love how you can see mr z's appreciation of food and culture , and the language as well!!! andrea is truly one of my favourite guests of all time
I am so happy this series is happening! I love the calmness of it and the excellent way Z explains what he experiences when he eats. Most of the guests are entertaining and charming but don't quite let us into the flavor and experience of the food like this. Can't wait for more.
Love that they each have familiarity and knowledge of different aspects of it all. Josh with the "Korean BBQ" part, Mr Z with the "#1 in the world" part. Edit: 19:46 literally looks like an anime shot. We've done it. We've replicated a Food Wars dish. More edit: Who else would eat "Ssam" by Mr. Z?
People who really love food and can appreciate it, never bring down other countries' foods and traditions, because they know how important they are for those who eat and their culture. I can tell you that no chef at the top of their game ever became that by being stingy or prejudiced. If you see a person being close minded over food, is because they love appearances more than the food itself.
This is soo great, M. Z is a World Wonder, a living human treasure we need to protect at all cost. The guy has never been to Korea but learned Korean for his first trip. His entire body is screaming LOVE for all the meals he had.
I just came from a food trip in another city and am so happy to watch this. Actually the trip was supposed to be focused on Japanese food. But after realizing how many Korean eateries have opened there and were run by actual Koreans, it was the only food I was interested in. This channel opened a whole new world to me. And to see Mr Z being as happy as I am, makes the joy last longer. Thank you for your work, KE man! ❤
I'm so happy we get to have so many different types of people on this channel experiencing the same food; yet every trip and every meal although similar are very different because of the people. I'm so excited to keep watching Mr. Z's series since he's got a very professional take on food! Such a treat to have this series!!!
We've seen Josh eat a lot across both KE & Jolly but this is the most we've seen him gobsmacked. And Mr Z is top tier across the board, he has a wonderful smile, an infectious laugh, knowledge & swag just drips off him 😂 he's just so cool. Props to the head chef, a true artist.
Some of the most meaningful episode ever! It's must be a challenge for Josh and the whole team because this is Top-tier Italian Chef who had served thousands of celebraties. But whole awesome background of Mr.Z just makes all of his applauses today become special more than any guess has ever made. His recognition for Korean food really hits me hard today. Can wait for more episode coming!
I always love videos with Mr. Z and am so excited for this series! I hope Ollie will be there, too, because I love the humor and layman insights he brings to foods and experiences 🧡
This italian chef had me cheesing the entire time. He's so delightful to have and really appreciates the experiences and the wonderful food. I wish to be in his place for this episode 😆
discovered your content on this and the jolly channel today, i have to say this is possibly the best yt video i have ever seen. between the beef and mr z thanking the chef this content is absolutely phenomenal.
Because he is a chef I love how he explains the flavors and the labour that went into the dishes, super fun to watch and I am excited to see the rest of the series
After this series I would love to see a video on what and how Mr. Z incorporated his experiences in Korea into his own work. He obviously understands and analyses the tastes he is experiencing, so there has to be an awsome result at the end.

Josh's reaction to eating this was the same as gas station food in Texas. As an American, I can now equate this to Buckey's.
The practice shows!
I noticed that too. So much respect flowing out of that man! Can't wait for each week!
It shows how much his love for traveling and cooking is and I love it. It is indeed VERY admirable!

세프분 정말 존경
Credit to Grace ❤❤❤❤
I thought the same about Mr Z's kitchen after this trip. His clientele is in for a treat !

Seeing an artist fully appreciating and literally immersing himself in a fellow artists craft is a beautiful thing to witness 👏🏾
Love when Mr.Z is around. He is a renowned chef and he just respects the food in a whole different way and it is just lovely to see.
햐 저 한국 쉐프님 요리 여태 본 수많은 요리프로의 요리사들이 한것중 최고... 단순히 굽는게 아니라 그냥 고기로 저렇게 할수 있다는게 대단하심.
Mr. Z's description of all the things he ate is such a different level of appreciation for the food!
and then there's Ollie
I can tell this series is going to be incredible. Watching someone whose entire life revolves around food getting to learn and try new things is just amazing. Mr. Z has wonderful energy and is just a joy to watch :)
ive ben watching you guys for years and got to say this series with MrZ is probably my favourite. its just so cool to see someone that's passionate about food try new things and loving them. really cool

진짜 끝도없이 연구하시는듯.. 진짜 요리실력이 얼마나 뛰어나시면 저런 기발한 생각을하시는지.. 놀랍기만하네..
The long awaited series!! Can’t wait to see Mr Z enjoy all the fancy meals and appreciate Korean cuisine and incorporate it in his new cooking!
Even if it's several thousand, it's definitely worth it.
Love seeing Mr Z be able to interact with the chef, as well as give insights into why things work in a more colorful and delicate manner
I love how Josh is usually the one presenting the food, but Mr. Z's expertise took over this episode!
I think that's what is gonna make this series more entertaining. Josh introducing and teaching Mr Z about Korea and it's food culture, and in return Mr Z is teaching him and us as the viewers cooking methods, what complements food, his own experiences and knowledge as a chef
@@MylkT1023exactly!
able to appreciate this series better as Mr. Z gave so much insights on the food instead of just "wooooah so gooood"
Moshiseo!!
Too expensive shop .but so nice. Appointment is too hard.
Wow. I mean this is an entirely different feel to KE. I feel like I learned so many things from every person involved. That was utterly enjoyable. I cannot wait for the next episode of the Korea trip with Mr. Z.
I like Korean caligraphy, it looks like an ancient alien language.

this is one of my favorites vids in a while im ngl he's a really good guest i'm glad u r finally introducing him to korean food and im glad u brought him to korea i'm excited for this series
Mr. Z is such a great guest! His perspective and description of the food just adds so much to this episode.
the way mr z describes the food and the experience brings a tear to my eye. i love how passionate he is about food. from that alone you can tell this series is gonna be incredible!
This is gonna be such a great series... Mr. Z is already getting treated to K-food treasures like meongge, not to mention this epic, epic meat - and this is just the start!
고기 하나하나에 대한 설명, 예를 들어 안심추리나 설야멱에 대한 설명이 세프님이 들으셨을때 어떤 반응인지도 궁금하네요ㅎㅎ 잘봤습니다
Watching Mr. Z expressing and explaining such little details of every meals gives me so much in depth of the food and how I could enjoy in the future
So sweet
i love love love how you can see mr z's appreciation of food and culture , and the language as well!!! andrea is truly one of my favourite guests of all time
Lived in Korea. Love Korea. Thank you for this. Truly, a trip to Korea should be in your bucket list.
we need acces to the corridor crew anime filter :P this show would be insane turned into an anime :P
tbh... i prejudged him and assumed he might not think the food was good enough, but I love his love and genuine appreciation for everything!
I just love the reciprocity. Mr. Z brings them on the greatest food tour by UA-camrs and the Korean Englishman team tries to top him!!
He’s such a cool guy!! Korean food being experienced by a chef brings along with it a truly new perspective!

팀원들을 아끼는 모습이 아름답습니다.
He needs to be hired by MasterChef along side Gordon Ramsay he makes for fantastic viewing and is a breath of fresh air
After this series I would love to see a video on what and how Mr. Z incorporated his experiences in Korea into his own work. He obviously understands and analyses the tastes he is experiencing, so there has to be an awsome result at the end.
That meal looked genuinely mind-blowing. Gotta put this on my bucket list
