  • Spray foam was a quick and cheap fix. While it is temporary, it will keep this farm truck on the road for a little longer!
    DISCLAIMER*** THIS ISN’T THE PROPER WAY TO FIX THIS. IF YOU WANT PERMANENT RESULTS TAKE IT TO A BODY SHOP!

    Any job involving insulation foam used for an other purpose than insulation is pretty much worthless. The way to go for this type of repair is to cut away the rusty areas and to weld replacement sheet metal parts cut and formed to shape.

      @DIYFastFix  3 місяці тому

      Thank you, I am aware of that. Again this is meant for someone who can’t do a patch panel replacement. If you read the comments, this is a farm truck and just trying to get a few more years out of it.

    Don’t do this!!! The foam will absorb moisture and make a bigger rust problem

      Don't mind these comments . You've done an awesome job! Not everybody can pay for professional body work. This is good enough. If the rust problem comes back, you repeat the process. Case closed.

    I love how people are roasting this video. It just goes to show how many people don’t understand the point of this video! Everyone who has a negative opinion has unlimited cash flow so they would never accept this type of repair to fix their old beater. These comments are acting like this is a 2015 Lexus LS or Lamborghini. 😂 social media is full of so much bs it’s unbelievable. This video was epic especially the finished product. Now I will admit I didn’t listen to the audio so I have no idea if the back side of the quarter panel was filled, sealed or waterproofed. I’ve never done this before but if I had an old POS you better believe I’m not spending more than what the truck is worth to pay a pro to replace the metal. Honestly to whoever made this video, it’s these kind of repairs that get people to engage which on other websites is the recipe for a viral video. Nobody cares when you do a perfect repair. They only want to comment when they can say you did a terrible job 😂

    For people complaining about the repair... its just fine. Its an older truck and if he did take it to a body shop it would cost more than the truck is worth to fix it. Ive seen used car places do the same type of work unfortunately. In this case i think he is just trying to make it look better for the sake of making it look better. Why do people take everything so serious??
