I know this video is a little less in-depth than my usual videos, but I had a personal emergency that pulled me out of the studio for a few days. I'd still love to hear your thoughts! Would you like to see more videos discussing filigree in the future?

    • @mizarrow1

I noticed someone made a comment that goes along with my thoughts. I used to make jewelry, but arthritis has taken its toll on my hands. So, making and selling jewelry is not an option for me. However, I have always wanted to know how to make heady-style pendants. I watch your videos to take me "back to the day," just like horseback riding, which I can no longer do. Would you be willing to sell a single tutorial instead of me becoming a Patreon? (this is what another subscriber asked, as well.)

    • @RaftarkJewelry

@@mizarrow1 totally understandable! i'm sorry to hear the hands can't create these days, but i hope these videos are at least fun to watch.
that is something i am working on, i just havent figured out the logistics yet. in theory, the tutorials would be released for sale on my website three months behind their release to my patreons. it will be something i put more thought into how it will work a little bit down the road, but for now they are only available to my patrons

@@RaftarkJewelry thank you for answering my question. I'm one who likes to "know" how certain things are done and this style always stumped me. Even though I won't be able to create, I still want to "know." Make sense? Lol Anyway, I'll keep checking to see if/when you've figured out the logistics.

@@godisinfinite6730 oh man, uploading videos on a daily basis would be a real challenge! for now i plan on releasing videos once a week. i'm a full time artist myself so it would be quite tricky to devote so much time to uploading free videos, but i've set aside my monday mornings for filming these videos. there should be a new video every monday or tuesday!

And as always, your work is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for the knowledge and the inspiration... Also, I realize this video is from 2019, but I hope the emergency wasn't anything too serious. I truly enjoy your tutorials!!! There’s a style that’s similar to this where it’s swirly all over and uses a frame and people usually do them in copper then liver of sulfur...I’m desperately trying to find an in depth tutorial on that and I believe it must be called a filigree style like you mentioned. If you would be so kind to show that kind (not sure if my description honestly helps you to know exactly which kind I’m talking about😂) I would be so grateful! I do all sorts of fun styles and am getting better but would love to learn how to get those wavy swirls onto a frame and have it look smooth and seem less! Thank you so much!

Hello, i want to start off by saying you do beautiful work!!! My father is an artist of many things. For a few years he got into wire wrapping. I watched him and friends do all sorts of different wraps. I just started to make wire trees and pendants. I hope one day to be as good as you. I've watched alot of videos on wire wrapping and your is my favorite. I love your technique!!! I haven't been able to watch a full video and make any attempts yet. Have to finish a couple projects first. But i can't wait to learn!!! Thank you so much for taken the time to show everyone. I know a few people that are not willing to show how to do their technique. Fyi yes i will be having my dad show me his too.

Richard John exactly! For me the bail is an easy place to start from. I can use one longer wire of whatever shape/size I prefer and weave it around the frame to establish the ‘stream’ of the piece. From there it’s all in the details!
