hydrogen peroxide is good for cleaning almost anything. I've used it to get stains out of furniture fabric etc.it's some good stuff..also good if you have an abcess tooth..LOL..just put some in the mouth let it lay on that tooth and it helps draw out infection..did it before.
I'm making a simple metal placard for the 1969 Z/28 I'm rebuilding. Just my name, number and address on it, riveted somewhere on the car body. Then, I'll install an engine killswitch and GPS locator on it for security 😁 Can't be too safe living in this wild world.
You can also take it to the Smog Referee. Thats what I did on mine. He spent an hour looking the car over then put it on the dyno and it ran clean. Then he put a label on the door jamb saying what I did was approved. Everything has to be done exactly right to get them to approve it.
Thank you very much I need too add a number 2 on my JDM B16A I need it too just say B16A2 hopefully I can do it right so I can smog my car California is getting harder with all these engine swaps
I ended up taking it to the Referee and they approved everything and put a label on the door jamb saying that. So next time there wont be any problem. I explain all about it in the next Prelude Video. Not sure when the video will be finished.
They can actually fail you if the numbers don't match, WOW! We don't have that here. Also, you just taught me something very interesting about the oven cleaner and peroxide, which brings up a a question. If anyone cleans there aluminum engine with oven cleaner (Hey, you never know), are they essentially destroying the engine?
One good thing about California is you can make a lot of money doing emissions related repairs. I've had my license for doing emissions testing for about 15 years , but I've never worked for any place that did that.
bad ass video..also after you change the numbers couldnt you just spray the bottom end with a heat temp paint and make it all look new as apposed to corriding the numbers to match the block..thumbs up
dannyb20 vtec You could paint it. But I thought it would look more original corroded up. If you paint it I think they might know that you did something to it.
231flash Must be something new. You can only see the numbers on 4 cylinder Honda cars. All the rest are too hard to see the numbers. First thing the guy said to me is thats not the right engine. Only .1 liters bigger. LOL. Everything else I made exactly the same.
definitely illegal if using on public roads, just know the laws you are breaking before you break them. Of course we all just do this for fun and there is nothing wrong with stamping an unused block...
@@1970chevelle396 well what the point of doing it when it is going in garbage, all this video is doing is showing criminals how to circumvent the legal things in place, they changed everything on stolen cars thanks to such videos.
Saul Dean This would not help criminals one bit. You would have to change the VIN number on the engine for that. I changed the Model number of the engine, so people with different engines in there cars can pass emissions tests. Here in California it doesn’t matter how clean an engine runs , it has to be the correct engine in the car.
Good info right here. Liked that you showed the results of the chemicals too. That could be used for any other uses.
Alvarez Metal Works Hydrogen Peroxide is what people put on steel when they want the patina look after they put patch panels on.
1970chevelle396 good to know. Been wanting to educate myself on such subjects. Just haven't had time.
Wow! Have I never had a video that i actually needed with the tools I’m thinking to buy on the same engine be the first video lol

In California the engine model numbers have to be correct for the vehicle to have the emissions test done.
How long did this take? I've had the proxcide on the block for 2 days and it hasn't done anything to the block yet.
One day.
what's the size of your steel tampering tools???
3/8
I didn't know you had to do all that. I think that will pass for sure

but the lettering is a lot bigger than the original. p.s. it's easy to stamp the letters individually if you mark it out first!
is this even legal?
and what size is the numbers down below the "h22" ??
I have no idea since I only re stamped the H22
What's the name of these tools u use to stamp the latter's
There just number and letter stamps.

100 percent
