What Larry & Dino have done for car culture (AND CONTINUE TO DO) cannot be appreciated ENOUGH. They are walking/living legends. Thank you, Larry. Thank you, Dino.
Hearing people talk about car engine setups, etc especially advanced conversations like in this vlog is music to my ears, I understand most of the terminologies but the concepts behind these builds and the workarounds they come up with these rare setups just fascinates me and blow my mind. I wish I had even 50% of the knowledge these guys have WOW...Thanks Larry and company for all that you do!
Old Datsun's are so lovely, they remind me of my uncles. They were into 70s Cedrics and Crowns etc. Not really tuning, just dailying in the 80s and 90s. At the same house they built and maintained their cars at, my granpa had a crazy dump filled with cars for some reason, hundreds of now classic cars that just rotted there and were disposed in the 2000s as they were an environmental issue by then. Back in the 90s, a friend of mine had a forever project car, an early 70s Celica. I fell in love with the body too.
Nothing beats a Hakosuka!!❤.That speedbump 💀 The old Cartech is sweet. To think I’ve seen one in a junkyard years ago. I should have grab it. I didn’t want to due to the size cfm. I had a carb box built and dual turbo manifold for L28. Collecting dust. As my Fairlady is now gone.
Been reading and watching Larry since 2010 when I really got into speed hunters as a young teen, so good to see what he’s doing for the community over a decade later, thank you Larry
Aw yes old school L series turbo build i always wanted to do one on a 240z L28et with a carb hks surge tank with a LD28 3.1 crank or get the cheaper 280zx and run big injectors
Amazing video Larry as always, you never disappoint. Also your video outros are the absolute best, music and that montage is just amazing and I always stick around to the end to hear it.
I dig the build, especially keeping the more difficult tuning option of the older turbo system. Thanks for continuously showing us all kinds of build styles Larry.
Yooo!!! Team Wildcards! My fav episode of OG HOONIGAN Daily Transmission probably ever is the episode they pulled up with a crew of the coolest cars. Edit: I'll never forget the Toyota Starlet in that episode.
Cool to see his Hako featured. Remember seeing this Cartech turbo kit back in the early 90's and cool to see someone present day using it. Would be awesome to see it with Jenvey heritage ITB's/FI. The mention of the jets coming loose is a a thing a lot of people overlook and something I've learned to periodically check them.
Absolute banger! And the shots! Wow. Been a fan for years and love to see how Larry is now one of those guys that gets incredible people and their builds to come out
If your jets are loose. Use Loctite. The manifold is probably so warn in from bolting and unbolting that the threads are out of spec for circularity and thickness.. Probably feels great going together... but.... you want a bit of resistance.
Loved the rolling shots of them all together so amazing and the sky was beautiful then. The guy with that beautiful Hako said to you Larry maybe you see it in the Philippines. Is he japanese or Filipino? Philippines does love there 7-ELEVEN alright haha..😅
I worked for a family that owned a Volvo dealership years ago. Years before that they owned the Datsun/Nissan franchise. They still had some brand new Nissan products stored in the four story Volvo building including some Bluebirds and Z cars from the 70s/80s. I was into RWD Volvos so I didn't appreciate what those cars were or even what their values would be today.
That gasket has to be air tight.. it's incoming draw pressure the higher you make that work.. The better cold air coming through the carb and the intake. Also do you want dirty air from the exhaust? You want that surface flat.. As flats as the head. because the exhaust and intake are symmetrical bolts. They share lugs.

Thank you, Dino.
yeeessssss
❤❤❤
How the hell is Larry not on over 1 million subs with this incredible content?
Great work 🔥🔥🔥
I know right I love his stuff
Real car culture is super niche, and JDM is an even smaller percentage.

The rolling shots are beautiful ❤🔥 And that Toyota Cressida 🥹
As soon as I saw the classic JDMs I upvoted. What an incredible selection of cars.
Well played Larry, continued greatness.

I love the Toyota that looks like a 70 Mustang from the rear. Awesome video Larry!
Celica!
It's been called the Japanese Mustang before!
Yep. It’s because when the Celica was made to compete with the Mustang at the time, offering mustang looks but affordability.
Killer video with some amazing rides!
Very Cool. I still have the original catalog from Cartech with that blow thru system.

I wish I could get a JDM drive put together in the Tampa Bay area !!
Aw yes old school L series turbo build i always wanted to do one on a 240z L28et with a carb hks surge tank with a LD28 3.1 crank or get the cheaper 280zx and run big injectors
I love the idea of the turbos on carbs on the Hako! Also love the detail of period correct livery. Well done!
I first saw and shot Roy's hakosuka back in 2014 at JCCS. Such a beautiful build.

Ian's 280zx has been one of my all time favorites back in the old forum days.
Amazing video Larry as always, you never disappoint. Also your video outros are the absolute best, music and that montage is just amazing and I always stick around to the end to hear it.

Not a fan of most of the Skylines but this was the one I would actually own. ❤❤

Hako has the real Devil Z heart, analog as it should be unlike that other imposter. Carbs are Mecha.
