Been looking for some inspiration for my own shorts and found this, really wonderful work I love the lighting. The pacing felt a wee bit fast, so for fun I watched it on .75x speed and it totally works, thank you for your inspiration!

Thursday, October 31st. The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes. And I'm there too. Watching. 2 years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal. I must choose my targets carefully. It's a big city. I can't be everywhere. But they don't know where I am. We have a signal now, for when I'm needed. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call- it's a warning. To them. Fear is a tool. They think I'm hiding in the shadows. But I AM the shadows. I wish I could say I'm making a difference, but I don't know. Murder, robberies, assault- 2 years later, they're all up. And now this. This city's eating itself. Maybe it can't be saved, but i have to try. PUSH MYSELF. These nights all roll together in a rush, sometimes in the morning i have to force myself to remember everything that happened. 🕵♂

Great cinematography, Mac! The voiceover could use more deliberation and richness, and a clean-shave always helps for the look, but every frame of this was a painting, as the saying goes, and the script was ambient bliss. I could watch hours of it!
The beard is a good look
The only flaws other than the quick VO were the gun and first cigarette not from that time period. That's looking awfully close, I know!

This is very cool, I wish it was a full movie!.I can imagine the femme fatale, some mob boss involved, the music, some scene in "the flamingo, the best joint in town" owned by the mob boss, some kind of intrigue involving the femme fatale's twin sister (or is she pretending to have a sister?), a scene in an alley with some round light pointing at the detective, hehehe this is a very cool style.

Nice work with the lighting / cinematography! Next time I would use an actor who is clean shaven and has a more gravely voice! Overall, I enjoyed it!
So good! Maybe I would slow down the narration a bit (felt a bit rushed) but everything was great. I would watch a lot of this.
Great video! I really lived the lighting and dialogue. You captured them both well. I think the ending was anticlimactic though.

In that instant the dark silence that must have seemed an eternity, she realised there was someone in the house. Panicking, she flicked on the bedside lamp so she can dial the phone. By the time she stabbed out 911, the killer had gotten to her. He jerked the phone from the wall before she had a chance to cry for help. Maybe he grabbed the phone from her hand. Maybe he yelled at her and she began to plead with him........
