Our Milford Sound day trip is mine and Neil’s most anticipated adventure of our South Island visit. We travelled to Milford Sound with Awesome NZ. The tour started with us being picked up by a bus from Queenstown.
Our first brief stop after entering Fiordland National Park was Eglinton Valley. This was carved out by glaciers thousands of years ago. A little further on, we visited the pristine Mirror Lakes. As the name suggests, the tranquil waters allow a pure reflection of the valley to appear on the water’s surface, like a mirror. All along the way, while driving through Fiordland National Park, you’ll see ancient alpine forests and spectacular views. Monkey Creek is a glacier-fed spring and it is where Keas roam and we saw a few swooping around. En route to Milford Sound, the bus passes through the long, dark Homer Tunnel, before emerging into the beautiful valley.
The highlight of the trip is obviously taking a cruise across the spectacular Milford Sound fjord. The views were breathtaking. We didn’t only enjoy the stunning beauty of Milford Sound but also the wildlife that inhabited the fiord. We were lucky to spot Fiordland crested penguin. We also saw lots of southern fur seals sleeping on the rocks, and lastly a playful pod of bottlenose dolphins.
The fjord has dozens of waterfalls but the most impressive is Stirling falls. What is particularly awe-inspiring about these waterfalls is that there is enough room for the Milford Sound cruises to maneuver directly below the waterfall spray.
A trip to Milford Sound should 100% be part of any New Zealand South Island adventure.

Hi Erin! Honestly, South Island is more beautiful but we’ve got hot springs and stunning beaches. I guess we’re not far behind. 😉

Frankly, you must adjust the style of the channel, because few people watch you, and the content of the channel is interesting and the photography is wonderful, so why don't you convert it to Arabic, because we Arabs love such videos, and you may succeed.
