2 part questions for both of you guys! (Ryan & Chris) 1.) Ryan, I remember some older videos of you doing some stuff at dirtfish rally, do you think you will try other motorsports like rallycross? and 2.) Chris, You have dominated the formula d division for years now, do you think you will move on to any other motorsports besides drifting and are you currently involved in other motorsports as a hobby? Thanks guys love the show!
What do you think of Rotary engines for drifting? Have you ever tried one? People try to say they dont have torque, but when a rotary engine has 3 rotors, the torque is typically equal to the horse power.
Here's my question to both of you. If you guys weren't running the FRS & 370z, what car would you guys choose to compete in, and what engine would you stuff in said cars.
The blow off valve placement question - it doesn't really matter where you put it, near the throttle body or the hot side of the intercooler. Pressure will and still needs to get released.
What cars were your first cars, and do you guys have any cool stories to tell from the early days of practicing to drift? Thanks for the awesome videos
Question for Ryan: Your FD Competition FRS has the front wheels mounted substantially further apart then the rear wheels. How does this help while drifting, what are the benefits of this modification?
To Ryan, On your race car, you have a sequential shifter that doesn't require the clutch but yet you still have the clutch there for drifting and such. How does this work??
To chris. What brand of nitrous system do you use on your FD car? I know you are sponsored by NOS energy drink but do you run NOS nitrous systems as well?
What do you guys think about BMW's as drift cars? I have an E36 325i thats going to get an turbo conversion and steering angle kit. Here in sweden its the cheapest option to an drift car!
I notice the front tires on Tuercks car have cuts in them. Is it to stop the front wheels from getting to much grip while going sideways or something along those lines. Or is it just an aesthetic sort of thing? Can't say i've noticed it on other drift cars
I had a welded diff in my 240, it kinda sucks. 10x more fun than open diff of course. If you are going the cheap route, try to find an LSD from a different model e36 and over shim it. Welded sucks because your tires wear out extremely fast, and when drifting the momentum can keep your wheels going therefor making you spin out. I also kind of always felt like my cars rear end was on the verge of being ripped out. If you are gonna go through the effort, just get a LSD!
Which two motor packages a 2j or an LS will give u more bang for ur buck, smarter build for a grass roots drivers.. Newer leaving out the awesome factor...
I had a really hard time to understand what you said, please pick a different location for the next response video or record with a camcorder instead of a gopro.
They're only doing two runs per rear set and swapping for new tires. If it's a one more time they go off and get new tires then come back out after the next two cars battle. After warning them up and doing two runs 800+hp will shred tires to slicks
Chris, what was up with that 'drift idiot' video? The dude was trolling you so hard! Were you guys just having fun or did that interview actually piss you off?

I like how Chris answers all the questions, even the ones asked to Ryan. Hahah! Great video. I hope to see more Street FRS and 370z drifting soon.
Tuerck actually pronounced my name correctly haha Thanks for answering my question & for producing some awesome content for all of us, guys!

How do you guys breathe through the leads smoke and is it a distraction sometimes
Shemar Baker Well obviously it's a distraction sometimes, you knew the answer to that
Shemar Baker ive seen dai with a fresh air tube into his helmet. lots of drivers run filtered air into their helmet via a clear corrugated tube
That passenger fender cam view was nice
Here's my question to both of you. If you guys weren't running the FRS & 370z, what car would you guys choose to compete in, and what engine would you stuff in said cars.
Can't wait to see you guys at FD Orlando!! Going to be great!!
I'm going to the formula drift event in Orlando next month which is awesome! Is there a pit party where you meet drivers and see the cars etc.
The blow off valve placement question - it doesn't really matter where you put it, near the throttle body or the hot side of the intercooler. Pressure will and still needs to get released.

Question for Ryan: Your FD Competition FRS has the front wheels mounted substantially further apart then the rear wheels. How does this help while drifting, what are the benefits of this modification?
Yes, I am from Latvia, big fan of yours, really appreciate what you guys do and videos you make.
Can`t wait to get my new Tuerck T-shirt. My question is: Are u guys coming to the Gatebil event this year at Rudskogen?
What is your opinion on steering lock, do you think its an essential, and if so what do you think is the best affordable option for a 98 e36 325i?
To Ryan, On your race car, you have a sequential shifter that doesn't require the clutch but yet you still have the clutch there for drifting and such. How does this work??
When drifting with full steering lock with wisefab angle kit, whats the most efficient way to keep drifting totally sideways if not handbrake.
Network A Hey Ryan is the Holinger gearbox the best change you have done? And what is your favourite thing about that transmission.
Hey Guys! What are yor mod recomendations for a KA24E (SOHC) or what swap is better for drift starters?
Hi guys,
I've seen some cars running with positive rear camber, do you recommend this adjusment on a 240sx ?
thanks
forsberg looks more like a tattoo artist than a formula drift driver
drifting with fuel efficiency... here's my guess:
- LSD
- whole-car weight reduction - lightweight flywheel, brake kit, exhaust system, battery, carbon fiber parts, etc.
- no aero parts
- upgrade electronics - battery, spark plugs, spark plug wires
- looser and more lively suspension setup and parts - coilovers, camber plates & arms, stiff bushings, etc.
- lighter and smaller diameter wheels + taller and skinnier tires
- wider track - use spacers or low offset wheels
- lower CG - lowering springs
Ryan and chris why you didn't put any/new handbrake to your missile car in your first drift garage?
Do you guys think you'll ever do another cheap drift build series ?
omg i was just drifting the same part of road Atlanta in assetto corsa
To chris.
What brand of nitrous system do you use on your FD car? I know you are sponsored by NOS energy drink but do you run NOS nitrous systems as well?

Ryan and Chris does any of you guys 240s have frame rail rust? If so did you repair it yourself
Was it hard to see the the smoke at road atlanta?
Convert the one of the paddles to a electronic E-Brake?
Ryan - I'm sure a lot of people have asked you this but what aero are you running on your street FRS?
I notice the front tires on Tuercks car have cuts in them. Is it to stop the front wheels from getting to much grip while going sideways or something along those lines. Or is it just an aesthetic sort of thing? Can't say i've noticed it on other drift cars
86 THEMADHATTER I don't see any cuts, just the tread pattern
Sedans cars are better than hatchs to drift ? at least, how much power to start drifting?
Ryan Your an inspiration out of three. Such as Fredric aasbo you and Chris. What would you recommend for me to do as a starter drift car. Have fun.
To Chris or Ryan:
Have either of you ever tried drifting on a simulation racing game on a full wheel setup and did it feel similar?
Hello from Australia! I wanna know whats that brand on your (Ryan's) hat & on the horn of the 86
I was there yayy!!! :D
how many episodes are there?
Which car would be better for a starter? A bmw 323 or a mazda rx8?
Hey guys, I'm about to get a car soon, what should I go for, a 240sx with an sr20det or a Nissan 350z turbo.
I was always under the impression that the fluttering from the turbo in this video was bad for the turbo? Was what I was told wrong?
Poe Tay Toe turbo surge and wastegate flutter are different thing :)
No and kinda Ryan's frs doesn't run a blow off valve so it's gonna do that it's not really bad but your gonna have to be replacing turbos more often
What mods would u recommend for a stock E36 bmw to be a good drifter
For the car to drift?
Jack Mac if it already has a limited slip differential, coilovers (they did a video about this before)
Welded/limited slip diff and suspension bits you can add horsepower mods later. But your car do what you want:)
Welded diff and front angle kit THATS IT
First go out and see if you even like the sport, cuz the angle kit might cost a pretty penny.

How was it going against eachother in top 16?
are there really pros using automatic transmission drift car?
Are there any big rivals against other drivers or is everyone just a big group of friends?
i want to know what song that is palying in the back ground :P
Mike Foster Nobody know the song?? :(
What motivated you guys to drift??

Ryan are you coming defend title in estonia ?all locas pro rides are waiting for you escpeally harold.
what do you think of mad mikes radbul mx5
Hey tuerkd. The vinyl on your frs is kind of lame. Have you ever thought about making it better?
Hey guys which is better a FR-S or a GT86 or a BRZ?
All the same car haha slight differences.
Colin Almodiel an ae86
omg i got featured
Grassroots drifters like myself shred tires until they are showing cords.. But how do the pros know when it's time to change tires?
Geoff Donati The wear bars? They have tire sponsors so they don't think too hard about replacing them
They're only doing two runs per rear set and swapping for new tires. If it's a one more time they go off and get new tires then come back out after the next two cars battle. After warning them up and doing two runs 800+hp will shred tires to slicks
Hi , I'm your fan from Russia, you guys are cool,Ryan will you change your car in 2016, Chris, what engine is yours? Good luck to you.
Love these episodes!!!!!
Chris is the 370z the same one from the dream like a champion video you did with clarion
Have you guys ever drifted in a trans tonic car before
is 204 not 304
tu peut faire une chaine en francais
Chris, what was up with that 'drift idiot' video? The dude was trolling you so hard! Were you guys just having fun or did that interview actually piss you off?
DL33TT It was a joke
Oops.
Dakota Duarte It happens...
You could get a na sr20
Nah, I'll stick with the stock sr20dett and just drop one of the turbos :)
Dakota Duarte nissan never made a "stock" twin turbo SR20 motor.
I know dude, I mispelled when I wrote the answer to those two :)
Nice
fuel efficient SR20dett? facepalm*
Love it!
