    Watching this video after one year. It was nightmare for me to follow this way back then, but today I could get everything you explained, flawlessly.
    When introspected as to why I couldn't understand this video wayback, I realised that I tried to learn this without even knowing the basics like "Composite shot", "Layers" and the "track".
    The problem with most of the people (including me) is that they want to quickly make videos the moment they download this software, without knowing the basics of VFX and the significance of the most important entities of VFX.
    Thanks a lot for enlightening us all with all your videos. :)

      You are very welcome and thank you so much for leaving this comment :)
      I do agree that understanding the basics is *REALLY* important - which is why I tell everyone to watch my beginner tutorials first before getting into these ones. Reality though is most people will think "nah, I don't need to" ... and proceed to get stuck on things that would be simple if they only knew the basics :D
      But that's all part of learning I guess - happy to hear that you're feeling so much more confident and can look back and feel like you've learnt a lot since the last time you were here!

    The more I see Hitfilm tutorials, the more it seems easier than AE for me. It can be compared to Windows and Linux ( Ubuntu), at a certain level. Where AE needs a lot of ressources, Hitfilm seems way lighter. Especialy the free version ( don't know yet how is the Pro version).
    Great tutorial by the way, as always.

    Tutorial still works today, with very minor differences in appearances.
    Hello from May 2021! Your channel is a Godsend btw- had to give up on Blender after it started crashing during the render process. Went with Hitfilm on the advice of someone in a discord. So far saving me an absolute boatload of time. About my second day actually working with Hitfilm, it wasn't too hard to pick up after Blender, which just made absolute sense to me and was practically completely intuitive. Hitfilm is a bit more adjustment, but already smoothing out my workflow a LOT. As in; "completely cutting out other programs I had to use" kind of a lot.
    You have been instrumental in the process of stepping over, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

    • @SurfacedStudio
      @SurfacedStudio  3 роки тому

      Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to write this comment :) Really happy to hear that you're getting something useful out of my tutorials!
      For video editing / compositing I'd 100% recommend HitFilm (or any other video editing tool tbh) over Blender. Blender is an awesome tool for 3D and you 'can' do video editing with it, but there's much better options if that's the main thing you want to do with it :)

    • @theorionexperiment4076
      @theorionexperiment4076 3 роки тому

      @@SurfacedStudio Honestly? If it wasn't for the rendering crash I never would have switched.
      I tried out a couple editing softwares before settling on Blender. I couldn't hardly use them. And, like I said, Blender made almost weird amounts of sense to me. I virtually knew how to use it from the moment I opened it. What's more, whatever I didn't know, I would partly look up and then be able to adapt in then apply to other aspects of the program. I went so far as to upgrade my computer to keep using Blender, to no avail. I'll miss it.
      That said, unlike other things I've tried, I can actually use Hitfilm, particularly after changing the slice hotkey to be more viable. Your tutorials are still shockingly relevant though, even after what, four years?
      Anyway, rendering out my first video done with Hitfilm now, and I do believe it's my best so far, if a bit 80's in some regards. Don't have an intro/outro reel yet, so I have to make do. ^,..,^"
