Really clear tutorial for a technique that is *SO* useful and powerful. I've been using Hitfilm for quite a while and *still* get caught out by the Layer vs Viewer 'gotcha' 😊
thanks buddy.... really helpful..... explanation was really good... please suggest how to put lightning effect using two point tracking method .. thanks again
It would probably be better to simply do two, separate single point tracks and then assign the start point and end point of the lightning effect to each of those tracking points.
Good question! If you ONLY need positional data, then a single point track will do. If you need to measure ROTATION and/or SCALE, then a double point track will be necessary.
Nice job. When will the next clone/stamp be ready? I sort of need that now. Oh, do you know why FXHome did a video with star wars tracking but they moved the center point of the first tracker to the middle of the video for better tracking? Why is that needed in some instances?
Check out this video by Axel on the Clone Stamp effect. It's an older one, but everything still basically works the same. ua-cam.com/video/rpkE7Tdlt3k/v-deo.html Regarding the question on star wars tracking, could you refer me to the video so I could see what you mean?
Are there any possibility to make vectoral arrow tracking at Hitfilm? Like making Annotation arrow's one point tracked and other point of arrow steady, fixed position.
HitFilm is more of a Compositor / Editor and not really made to create Vector Graphics. However, if I wanted to create an arrow that pointed to a spot in my video, I would use a combination of a masked Plane for the head of the arrow along with either the Lightning or Light Sword 2-Point Auto Effect.
@@FratDede Nope. My suggestion would be to go with a more classic callout technique like the one in this tutorial... ua-cam.com/video/_hh8Z322gGU/v-deo.html
Thanks Jay for your tutorials and valuable contribution to the Hitfilm community!
Thank you! :)
Thanks, James - great tip, keep them coming
Thank you!

Unfortunately, so do I!

Great Job Jay! Thanks for your tutorials. Now, to just get off my "duff" and put some of this to actual use!
Sounds like a plan! :)
Thank you! Your lessons are really helpfull. Did you already do the lesson for the Clone Stamp Tool?
Yes I have... ua-cam.com/video/s1chdwfPVgQ/v-deo.html
When do we use single point tracking vs double point?
Is single point for X and Y movements and double point if 3rd dimension[Z axis] is involved?

Can you tell ,how to Dr.strange's glowing rope edit?

As the text is attached to the door, using 2 point tracking, will the text appear to stick to the door as if it was a nameplate or similar?
If that is what you are looking for, you can definitely make that happen. That's what I did here.

@@HitfilmSensei Thank you, My aim was to make steady callout's with motion tracked arrow points. So not well fir for Hitfilm I guess :/

So why did you choose "Editor Sequence" & "Move with Clip" instead of default? 1:10
Habit. In this case, it didn't matter which of those I selected. It would matter if there were other effects added already or something like that.😀
@@HitfilmSensei Ohh I see I see, thank you sensei.
You're welcome! Feel free to ask questions about anything!
Can you only use motion tracking for text?
You can use motion tracking for any asset or effect. It doesn't have to be for text only.
