My dears, I’m finally starting with the garden plannings after what felt like an insane weather week. First sowings are happening, eeek! Hope you’re all doing well, take good care 🤍
That storm indeed scary. And I am soooo worried about climate change and the increasing severity of storms and what it means for our forests, woodlands, etc from wind to fire. I guess we must try to take small actions we can lik growing food to help. you are certainly doing your part. I am not fond of the "sweet spot" between winter and spring when everything muddy. Very awkward time.
For sure - each and every forecast of how climate change impacts this part of Sweden scares the hell out of me. I'm not sure how much of an impact we individually really have at this point, but I'm trying my best. Other than that it's all about adaptation from now on.. And yes, it's a weird time but I do enjoy that it's a little less cold and a little less work to heat up the house :) Hugs!
Even muddy looks amazing ! How do you keep warm ? Only via the woods you burn ? And for electricity what do you do ? I mean are you connected to the grid ? I work for energy company that is why I’m interested in knowing ♥️I loved the micro growing and the nice meal you made with the garnelen! I admire your dedication and hard work and this choice for slow that is not easy , you have my thoughts for all the best of luck and the good times to come this spring ❤
Thank you dear Ingrid :) We mostly heat with fire, but we do have small electric heaters in some of the rooms which we use when things are really cold, and we have it running in the bedroom since only a little heat from the main fireplace comes through there. We are connected to the electricity grid, but not to water or wastewater grid. So glad you enjoyed this video. And yes, it is definitely not the easiest life up here, but all of the good stuff (big garden, beautiful nature, peaceful quietness, slower life) makes 10x up for it! Take care ❤
I hear you sister. 😂Without the money theres no honey. I hoarded some old windows for the greenhouse but the lumber and other material are very expensive. Idid not skip the commercial so you shoud receive half a cent from yt. 😆 The storms are really getting worse and it is sad to loose a tree. I lost 2 huge silver willows last summer so I imagine its a huge task to cut, dry and staple the wood.
Without the money there's no honey - I'll definitely keep that saying in mind, love it :D Thank you for not skipping the ad, haha, I'll cherish every penny ☺ Losing 2 willows must be so devastating, I was already so sad now with the loss of the two pines. It's very worrying for the future..
@@outdoorhannah Yes the winds are worrysome and also the weather modification and manipulation that is going on in the field of science. However dead trees and down wood play an important role in the ecosystems by providing wildlife habitat, cycling nutrients and aiding plant regeneration among other things. It also gives another plant the space to grow so we should try to remember that. ❤️🌱☀️
Thank you John! :) I regularly see some rabbits, foxes, deers and then (as seen a few videos ago) wild boars 🙈. Voles are munching on my tulip bulbs, mice are running around at all times. One thing that's missing is a moose sighting. But I did see some in the village so I really hope they'll come here at some point!
@@outdoorhannah Cool!~ No moose in these parts, but plenty of deer. Maybe you need a couple cats for the vole & mice. I have those same issues, and my one cat does ok, but those pests are always still around! 😍😍
Hi Helen, so glad you enjoy my videos :) I'm sorry that the swearing offends you a little, I do understand but I'm a very emotional person and swearing is part of how I vent and get stuff out of the way (I don't drink, I don't smoke, I'm very tame other than that). I feel like everyone has some sort of weird approach to cope in this crazy word, swearing here and there is how I cope! :D I hope you will still come back and watch my videos nevertheless, I'd like to think I'm quite a lovely person despite the occasional swear word. Take good care ❤
Pls tell me how to heat this house sustainably without the wood stove and thousands of €€€€ to invest in renewable energy. I'll wait.. Burning wood is not my fav but using the wood from my own forest from trees that are getting knocked down from winds - I feel like it's not the worst of choices. Cheers!

Always funny to see environmentalists crying over trees and then use a wood stove.... please educate yourself
