Thanks to share with us all these historic information. I am a modeler, helicopter modeler for 35 years at least and I am glad to know where all began.
Excellent historical report! However, I was under the impression from a previous video that the person who, while attempting to fly the aircraft got “bucked” out of his seat was military test pilot. No big deal, but still amazing footage! Great reactors! Look after them please ..
Typical corporate attitude with the first test pilot. Never dealt with a helicopter, had nothing to do with the design. Insists he is the first to test it with no clue about it. Nearly kills himself by STUPIDLY hanging ONTO the same controls that will throw him out if he jerks them. Wrecks the helicopter when ge nearly kills himself. And the poor guys who built it have to pick up the pieces.
Very very good archival film footage. Thank you for making it available.

My father worked at Bell in Niagara Falls during WWII. His job was to film early helicopter test flights.
The commentator is as good as the footage. Does a great job of explaining all the intricacies of developing a helicopter from scratch.
Boas recordações dos helicópteros Bell nos tempos de criança nos anos 60. Obrigado pelo vídeo. Saudações para todos direto do Brasil. 👍🇧🇷👏👏👏
This is really good stuff !!
The Bell's and Sikorsky's of today have likely exceeded their inventors' wildest expectations by a thousand fold.

I wish I could be a lab assistant to such a great engineer :) Great video :D
That executive test pilot was lucky to be alive after that accident.
How that pilot wasn't killed is amazing. Not many have been thrown into a spinning main rotor and survived. Wasn't wearing his belt, bad episode.
6:22 Will it blend?
