Truly a great video Mohamed, I find the content of your channel so informative and intellectually sincere. Keep Going with the good work! (A now another book to read for me!)
It's a wonderful book. I might also suggest the audio book version of this is top notch. Like "The War of Art," it's a book that I'm always in some state of reading.
9:00 It's not quite accurate. If someone fires a gun in the third act of a work, it should appear in the first act. But at the same time, if a gun appears in the first act, it does not necessarily have to be fired in the third act. It can be a distraction, an element of atmosphere, a description of a character
I'm doing a major survey of Tove Jansson's work now that most of her adult fiction is available in English and I just got my copy of the Penguin Modern Classics 60s series. But I'll take a look at this when I've got time to give it the attention it deserves. I'm due to make another attempt at the Russians, anyway.
Sounds like you have a fascinating reading journey ahead with Tove Jansson’s work. Definitely take your time with A Swim in a Pond in the Rain when you’re ready. Saunders’ ear for the Russians is incomparable; he gives you no choice but to love them. Happy reading!
Thanks! I can't believe it's taken me this long to realize the best way to really appreciate an author is to include a biography and their collected letters in a thorough survey. The Saunders book looks good enough to jump to the next space in line but I'm planning on giving Robertson Davies and Alasdair Gray similar treatment over the next couple of years.

You’re spot on. The beauty about storytelling is that it doesn’t have defined rules everyone must follow. It’s fluid. It’s personal.
In light of your name, I hope someone has called to your attention the excellent Monty Python sketch about writer Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson.
Gotta read the book bc *I’m curious*
@@hanhmy2511 let me know when you read and how you find it. It’s a fascinating read. Happy reading!
A video that isn't glazing formulaic & boring Bandon Sanderson?!
I'll give these titles a read.
Thanks!
