Hi, I've just found your channel and love the content so I have subscribed. I was wondering where you get your bezels from. I have a SRP587K1 Seiko Prospex, the one with the "Mohawk". I just don't like the plastic mohawk and I've seen watches with a steel one instead but can't find anywhere to buy ine online. I'd consider putting a complete new bezel on the watch as well. Great videos.
Thanks Graham and glad you're enjoying the channel Sir :) . As for the bezels I normally get them from this place www.namokimods.com/en-gb/collections/srp-turtle-bezels , but they don't have yours listed maybe best to measure both the outer and inner Diameter of your insert and see what will fit , Let me know how you get on
@@ClickSpringReview hi Barry , love your channel for a long time ( first find it because of Sinn reviews awesome! ) now as you are in a watchmaker course I’ve a question about removing a bezel from an Islander watch ( an homage of the Seiko SKX-007 model) the bezel it’s very sticky doesn’t turns as it should, I know it’s not difficult to remove it my main concern is how to clean ( products, does it have any silicone o-ring, etc ) and is it difficult to install it ? This watch is a beater but the bezel action it’s very bad to turn what advice’s could you give me please? Keep up showing some cool watch reviews 👍
@@69fastfurious Hi Jose I remember as you have commented before Sir , Mark's brand Islander looks really , I was going to review one but I was going to have to post it back to the States and so turned it down , I believe it may have a silicone seal but I would just use warn soapy water and try rotating the bezel as much as you can, and then after run it in normally water , if that doesn't work spray it with WD50, again rotating the bezel and then repeat the above to remove the oil
Nice succint review. Could you help me out and let me know whether this is suitable for Seiko 61xx series of movements? they're 27.0mm in diameter and none of these rings are that size but you said they're reversible and that's what I am wondering for?
I've just had a look and the closest I can wind it down to with one of the holder which meant for the Rolex 3135 is 27.3mm , I was thinking of 3D printing some more holder for it and just use it as a base as the inner diameter of the base is 29,5mm
Hi Barry, this looks really good. My question is whether the supplied rings cover all movements (probably not) and if you can buy additional sizes. What is the tolerance in movement dimensions for each ring? I'm assuming that as you bought this on Ali Express the tool is made in China or Hong Kong. The irony is that although they make effective tools they don't have the engineering skills to make high quality movements. My references here are Tokkante for the tools (Ben reviewed an excellent bracelet removal tool made in Hong Kong) and Federico Talks Watches, who commented on Chinese horology skills when talking about how to identify fake watches. I hope your course is still going well, and please keep us (well, me actually) about your supplies of apfelkuchen und kekse... 😊 😉. Have a good week, Barry, cheers, Bob 🍻
Hi Bob I got this from Ebay, Movements covered are things like the SW200 / ETA 2824 , Rolex , 7750 Chrono and some Omega 's and a few others . The good thing is having the holder you can always 3D print new inserts for different movements not covered , Next week is part 3 of the course videos 👍🏻 you have a good one matey 😊
Quite a cool movement holder. Does it allows the movements to sit in nicely on both sides? (dial side & balance side) The 7750 holder in this kit will be no good, preferably you'll need a movement holder which has external pushers, that'll allow you to test the chronograph operations whilst you hold the movement securely. Seems like the holder will be good for the less complex calibres. Were there any additional links to more movement holder inserts?
I've used the 2824 one and that is double sided so yes dial and balance sides are covered , I see were your coming from with the 7750 thats a good point , One thing I was thinking was I could always see about 3D printing some extra inserts for different movements which would fit in the holder
