No one ever mentions Hoss but he glued the brothers together added some humor and acted his character out well complete with facial expressions. Just because he wasn't handsome he is almost never mentioned but he filled out the show for me😊

Life just keeps going and going but a show has a beginning middle and an end. So that makes each show a life experience with a lesson and through the ups and downs and the ins and outs there is growth.

I had a chance to watch it again about a month ago and I thought about it but I was still so mad at him that I didn’t think 🤔 I could bear 🐻 to watch it again. I’m glad his wife didn’t feel the same way. According to Mr Google he was married to the same woman until he died and was a wonderful husband and father. 🥰🥰

At 36:35, Walker sarcastically makes reference to "Billy the Kid". Billy the Kid would not have been well known until 1877 at the earliest, and would only have been a small child during the setting for this episode (early 1860s).

The Marshall is using the Color of Law which is a Crime.
The Police also like to use the Color of Law which is a Crime:
The Color of law refers to an appearance of legal power to act that may operate in violation of law.
For example, if a police officer acts with the "color of law" authority to arrest someone, the arrest, if it is made without probable cause, may actually be in violation of law. In other words, just because something is done with the "color of law" does not mean that the action was lawful. When police are suspected of acting outside their lawful authority and violating the civil rights of a citizen, the FBI is tasked with investigating.[3]
The US Supreme Court has interpreted the US Constitution to construct laws regulating the actions of the law enforcement community. Under "color of law," it is a crime for one or more persons using power given by a governmental agency (local, state or federal), to deprive or conspire willfully to deprive another person of any right protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States.
Criminal acts under color of law include acts within and beyond the bounds or limits of lawful authority. Off-duty conduct may also be covered if official status is asserted in some manner.
Color of law may include public officials and non-governmental employees who are not law enforcement officers such as judges, prosecutors, and private security guards.
This was a Dilettante Presumption Theorem: All statements of fact, opinion, or analysis expressed do not necessarily reflect official positions or views or any other entity, past or present. Nothing in the contents should be construed as asserting or implying endorsement of interpretations and factual statements.

I watched this avidly when I was about 12/13. Loved Mr Landon. However I can’t help wondering why the Cartwright’s were able to kill people in every episode and never got charged whereas everyone else who kills gets punished. 😂

@Robert Heinrich von Seyfen... I live in a valley. I'm used to hearing a pack of coyotes late at night. The real sound that coyotes make is a high pitched sound. You're right. The imitation of coyotes in the "Bonanza" series was poorly done.

I like Wesley Lau (1921 -- 1984) better in Perry Mason, as Lieutenant Anderson He joined as a regularly appearing cast member on Perry Mason, in 1961, a year after the "Desert Justice" Bonanza Episode.

Long running show, and a great show with many good actors, Adam hated the role he played, said 30 plus year old sons always getting permission from dad to do anything they did. Always treated like little kids
