This video shows you how to install a new TRQ power steering rack and pinion assembly on your 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The rack and pinion assembly transforms the turning motion of your steering wheel to the push and pull motions that turn the front wheels of your vehicle, as well as adding the power assistance. If the steering rack on your vehicle is leaking, or damaged in some way, you might need to replace it entirely.
Estimated installation time for a professional technician is approximately: 1 hour 36 minutes
This repair was done on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Base 4.3L Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door RWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

Pulled off my inner tie rod boot today and it was filled with fluid😩
Couldnt you just straiten up the wheels then strap down the steering wheel and remove the rack and pinion and just take the new one line it up with the old one and adjust the tie rod arms to match the position of the old one and install the new one ? Also I heard your suppost to disconnect the battery so you dont possibly set off the air bags ?

What else is this compatible with? I have a 05 Escalade and I believe my leak is in the steering rack
Is thisbstill the same process on a 2000 blazer?
Is there no steering rack for a 4x4 silverado? I cannot seem to find one
