Yeah in 2018, at Cavtat & Dubrovnik! We loved it for sure, and wanna go again!!! :) I am passing now for yachtman liscense, so WHERE you have rent this Galeon yacht??? i loooove it :p
Thank you for saying that many travel vlogs are about the person and not the destination.... it’s most annoying! Your channel is so awesome and informative! I look forward to more great content from you 😁 P. S I am also a planner
Thank you for your comment! Really means a lot to me! No slow motion running on the beaches on this channel instead you'll be learning about the beach. Haha, us fellow planners need as MUCH information as possible to make a decision ;) So happy to hear that you found my videos informative. I took a bit of a break but new videos are in the pipeline so stayed tuned!! More to come!
I am a planner too, Sophie. I do not like watching artificially hyped up/high energy travel vloggers-I find them jarring and exhausting. I also think you look pretty cool without having to try so hard👍. I am going to follow you, and wish you luck,
Aw thank you Shelly! This comment made my day! This vlog was actually the first one I made so hopefully you really enjoy my newer content too. I have a new series launching next week so make sure to keep an eye out! 🤩 Thanks for subscribing! xx
How did you do research on a boat charter? Did yall drive or have a rented cruise. Looking to plan honeymoon but I'm so confused on where to start for boat tour!
Hi Andreah, we booked our yacht through Silver Sail. I researched quite a few companies before booking this one. We ended up choosing this one because of the type of boat, availability and price. We were a bit nervous as we had to transfer a large sum for the deposit. We prayed that when we got there, our transfer would be there to pick us up and they were! The process was super smooth. We did hire a skipper. I highly recommend to hire a skipper because he'll know the best coves to be protected from the wind, will be able to negotiate mooring fees (you'll have to pay when you park your boat somewhere overnight), and he will also speak the language. If it's just you two, I would look at renting a small motor yacht or sail boat with a skipper. You can follow the itinerary we did or speak to the company you book with to see what itineraries they would suggest. Most boats have a 7 day minimum hire so plan on going for at least a week. Make sure to watch the full video as I touch on tips for hiring a boat at the end of the video. x
can u share u day wise itinerary ..?hw mch time is spent on boat..?was it a custom itinerary or a packaged itinerary along with the boat ...?is it infant friendly ?
thanks for this! i'll have to ponder the hiring a skipper part of your advice. the main issue i see is that then we need a bigger boat because there's an extra person, and also now we can't be 100% ourselves bc we have to "behave" in front of a stranger. but you make good points.
You're so welcome Rachel. This is one of my old videos but there are a LOT of useful tips on here. My editing has improved since then lol. You 100% want a skipper. They've probably seen it all so feel free to enjoy as you wish, just be respectful. Sometimes, you have to get going early in the AM due to the tides so I suspect there will be some quiet nights lol. ;) Are you heading Croatia soon??
@@SophiesTravelSecrets we decided to postpone our trip until one person in our group could get all the certifications and be the skipper! this person is already a boat expert, they just need the certs. no matter who is driving the boat (them or a professional skipper) i will be coasting with my feet up!
Thanks for your trip on the yacht rental - looks great , just checked their website and it doesn’t look too expensive. Out of interest doe this company also organise a captain? or do you have to organise that yourself? - also how much extra was the captain? Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video Mark! The company we hired the boat through organised a captain and he was great! I can't remember how much the captain was as we hired him for the week with the boat. It was definitely worth the extra money as the captain is more knowledgable about the area, mooring fees & local spots to visit. You also are expected to cover all the captains meals which is on top of the daily rate. You need to also think about where the captain will sleep on the boat or if there are crew quarters on the boat you are hiring.
I am going on a 7 day cruise in Croatia on May 14-a tour-any other tips? I’m thinking weather and clothes to bring, For example is it chilly on the water? I saw a video where people were wearing jackets, pants and some of the ladies wore scarves
Hi Shelly, how amazing! tips, eat everything!! 😁 The food is so good in Croatia. As for clothing, it is always recommended to bring a jacket / something warm to wrap yourself in as it can get chilly in the evenings on the water. Ear plugs too if you are sensitive to noise (i.e. other people wake up early and move around). I would def ask your skipper for any tips too!
Thanks so much! It was our first time using the drone on vacation and are really happy we decided to get one for this particular trip! Really shows the beauty of the locations :)
Dude, vertical cellphone videos are a no go.. I am just saying... because if you are going to do this, there are very nasty people on the internet and you don't want to give them extra ammo to go at you. Nice video though. Greeting from Croatia.
Thanks for the comment and feedback. I def know what you're saying about the vertical videos, def a learning curve. A lot of content was lost and we only had the iPhone videos. Tried to tie the story together as much as possible. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video. Croatia is my fav.
Anyone else been to Croatia? Would love to hear about your experiences? Did you just go to the islands or visit the mainland as well?

Thanks so much! This was very informative. I am like you - do tons of travel research every time ☺️ Love your channel!
Another research freak! Nice to meet you. ☺️ Glad you enjoyed the video. Are you planning to go to Croatia this summer?

Hey Sophie, what boat company did you use Croatia, good work on your first vlog
