- YRP is obsolete -- Let fiends win the fight for you.
I built Lu to be a spell-casting-speed demon. Any Black Magic spells channeled by her will essentially have no cast time. In conjunction with Ultima, the game's "Wait Mode" will halt ALL other ATBs (including enemy fiends). Once the ATB is active again Lu's immediately ready for the next cast. Make sure to unlearn her elemental Fury spells. If she learns one by accident in mid-fight, pray she doesn't use. Little or no attention can be required for the "hardest" boss...

The point of this build is to encourage the use of abilities that will invoke "Wait Mode" for difficult boss fights. Any time you see "Active Mode" (which we eventually end up seeing in video) will put you at risk and further progress the enemy's ATB. Alternatively as a work around you COULD have a YRP member in group and open/close a menu in between Lu's casts.

1. Garment Grid: The End [Effect: Break Dmg. Limit (auto ability)]
2. Dressphere: Mascot [Effect: Ribbon (auto ability)]
3. Accessory 1: Wring [Effect: Flare (command ability) + Majo's Soul (auto ability)]
4. Accessory 2: I fucked up here in the video:
- I had: Key to Success [Effect: Double All (auto ability)] (I was farming Iron Dukes with this :facepalm:)
- Recommended: Force of Nature [Effect: Omnistrike (auto ability)]
Command Abilities:
1. Flare
2. Ultima
Auto Abilities:
1. Spell Spring [Cast spells in battle without consuming MP]
2. Black Magic Lv 2 [Cuts the time required for Black Magic by 30%]
3. Magic Booster [Strengthens spells but doubles their MP cost]
4. Turbo Black Magic [Cuts the time required for Black Magic by 40%]
5. Ribbon [Guards against all status ailments]
6. Break Dmg. Limit [Allows max damage to exceed 9,999]
7. Majo's Soul [Black Magic can be used very quickly]
8. I fucked up here in the video:
- I had: Double All [All manner of things are earned at double the pace] (I was farming Iron Dukes in the video)
- Recommended: Omnistrike [Adds all element to attacks. Turns elemental damage into HP] (via Force of Nature)

Accessory 1 = Minerva = Nitro Black Magic ( minus 40% charging time )
Accessory 2 = Black Tome = Black Magic Level 2 ( minus 30% charging time )
Result = No more charging or casting time.

This is wild to see! As someone who only played the original- which was a beast to 100% - I didn't know this was a feature at all! So cool! It kinda makes me want to play X-2 again.

Don't know, some time ago i bought the hd remastered and played ffx after many years (loved it) but I'm kinda scared of playing x-2... this video is literally 5 minutes spent watching a fight, my question is: is it still fun?
@@mymanthieves344 - X-2 as a whole was not like this! Very interesting dress sphere system; awesome boss battles; splitting storylines. The game is worth a playthrough.
This video isn't something from the main game. Definitely wouldn't judge the game on this. Also wouldn't judge it on the dungeon crawler bonus game I've seen out there.
Final fantasy x-2 is mechanically a masterpiece of gameplay, the story doesn’t take itself seriously and neither should you. An amazing game that parodied magical girl anime and did an amazing job at it, while tying up some loose ends of ffx. I really like it, I understand people wanting a proper serious sequel being disappointed though

@@mymanthieves344 I think FFX is better - with the whole sphere grid challenge you can max everything out. You can't really do that with Yuna. Rikku, and Paine in X-2. However with monsters it's possible. But I think the whole experience is going to be different for everyone.
i remember having team of robots at lv.99 and they were quick and did lot's of damage, one had a critical hit that did 99999 damage and a rare trophy appeared for that, they totally destroyed that almighty shrina on this but it was lot's of hours to max the party out and get lot's of accessories.

The way I kill it is with 2 auto attackers and a black sky caster, but this is an interesting and cool way to kill it too. It reminds me of killing all 3 dark magus sisters with ultima spam in X.
Okay guys, I finally found something that worked... which technically is the thing they used for Lulu here except even better. I just didn't realize I already had something like this for my Fire Elemental lol
You can obviously use this for any other similar magic casting only creature:

This setup makes casting times even quicker than the one in the video. My Elemental pulled off at least 5-7 Ultimas in one go with this setup. And of course, Magic Up just makes the Ultimas even more OP.
Two usages of Magic Up is enough to hit the second damage cap with Major Numerus

Problem is Flare is obsolete with Ultima, and can also be reflected. A few of the tougher enemies have auto-reflect, which Ultima ignores. I know it's paired with Turbo Black Magic, but it might not be worth it.
Well the thing is, you have to have your creature get used to new abilities first, before they find out what is the best strategy to use. Speaking from experience, Lulu and my Red Elemental used Flare a few times in the beginning, before resorting to spamming Ultima like no tomorrow. So you don't have to worry SO much about Auto-Reflect, especially when your other two monsters should be physical attackers. :3

What about dropping Auto-Haste for Magic Booster, and swapping Soul of Thamasa for Wring? Lulu's HP will be garbage and she'll be under constant Poison, but she'll have all the Black Magic cast time reductions.

It's cool and all, and I guess you could technically just give her those skills whichever way you want, but it would be great to actually see just a still shot of her equipment page. Maybe your Tidus and LeBlanc as well?
So the "attacking like mad" is referring to Lulu and not the Snake-thingy?
The 5 stars are for your units to do 5x more damage but to also take 5x more damage, you can reduce it to 1 when about to get hit and augment it to 5 again when your creatures are attacking
are your stats otherwise maxed? Im trying to figure out if magic booster works if you already have 255 magic stat (my lulu is fully maxed 255 everything including luck). cant find anything about this on the google

I do! I think it does make a difference. Same goes for Focus and Magic Up buffs. If you're considering that route, I'd recommend you save before teaching her those spells and verify her average damage before and after.

I'd set Lulu up with Vigor, Meteor, and Magic Up along with Ultima.
Command Abilities:

Break Damage Limit (1 Invincible)

Owyn Hammersley Why Meteor though? Also, why Omnistrike?
Omnistrike absorbs all elements and converts them into HP, also adds all elements to physical attacks. And Meteor lands 12 hits of magical damage.

Yes you CAN! Sort of... They're "monsters" you capture. You can have them in your party but cant really control.

They’re essentially “fiends” you have to capture. There are specific requirements for the captures in New Game+
Lulu = New Game + using a SP Pod in Besaid during any chapter
Kimahri = New Game + using a SP Pod in Besaid or Gagazet during any chapter
Leblanc/Logos/Ormi = New Game + using an SP Pod in Guadosalam during any chapter
Tidus/Auron/Seymour = Defeat him in battle during the Farplane Cup, then win the cup afterwards (If you release them, they CANNOT be re-recruited ever again)
Yaibal = SP Pod in Mushroom Rock Road, any chapter
Elma = SP Pod in Mushroom Rock Road during chapter 2 and beyond
Lucil = SP Pod in Mushroom Rock Road, I believe during chapter 3 but it might be later
Nooj = Complete the Den of Woe in chapter 5, then use an SP Pod in Mushroom Rock Road
Baralai = Complete the Den of Woe in chapter 5, then use an SP Pod in Bevelle

This is years late and all, but your description said you were farming Iron Dukes with the Key to Success accessory, but that won't work. For anyone new or who didn't know, double items only works on consumables, not accessories, which for some reason don't count as items.

I think Monster Arena wasn't in the original (I don't remember now) but they added a lot, including 2 additional jobs in the international version and that's been included in the HD version. I would recommend picking it up just for nostalgia.

She's maxed out in this video - I've been farming iron dukes here. In this other video I linked you can see what I have equipped.
that cant be, 5 times + in a row and she isnt hasted? wtf...is she like 255 agility vs some 80 agility monster? I never met that boss or those characters when I played that game.
It's the monster arena system. You have to talk to Shinra to access it. You have to capture "fiends" through this system to have them fight for you. You have no control over what they use but you can teach and level them. Their stats (all) can be "easily" maxed out to 255 when you feed them iron dukes. unlike YRP.
Also, I THINK (it's been years since I've booted up the game) one of the accessories I gave her gives her auto haste.
@@Gunggnir ive missed such a huge feature then. My PS2 is broken and cant use it anymore. At least I discovered the monster arena of final fantasy 10. Should have known X2 would have one also, since it also has blitzball and such.

I never understand how do you get to play other characters in this game.
Basically you can capture them from the world map like they were pokemon and would act on their own during battle

Better lulu she helped me beat even the yunalesca in level 80 with that ultima. Even she beat trema. I teached her ultima and curaga. Infinite MP accessory.
I will do a lulu playtrough story solo.... Someday.

it was added in the latest version, it wasn't a thing on the original game
and, tbh, yrp arent weak ..... that fan service system is jsut broken xD (yrp can do everything in the content that was release originaly with some need for training/tact wich is ... normal )
