I've been gardening organically for 50 years in the northeast region of the U.S. We only have a short growing season, May to September, so we have to make the best of it and then can or freeze the excess. In the U. S. people starting their own "homestead" has been growing rapidly in recent years. By definition a homestead is a home with land that grows animals and food/gardens organically and helps the family to become self sufficient. I hope this is happening world wide.
Awesome to hear of your sucess. Too many people 'jump in' and say they are going to grow their own food, but don't realize the need to research./learn FRST. No all areas are able to be cultivated for one reason or more. Too many are not suited for the long hours and dedication to even grow in containers let alone a homestead. I due to my paralysis am a container gardener. I raised chickens and quail for many years. As I have aged (66 now) it became more difficult so I gave my hens/quail to new homes and continue a small porch/driveway container veggie system. As I have 11 acre I can maintain a nice compost heap for my soil refreshment. Keep up your great farm and attitude
This is a blessing. I'm from the U S and more and more food is going up. My is gone now. He planted a garden every year. It's sad to say but, none of us learned what he knew. My daddy planted tree and he did some flowers. Me and my oldest son been talking about getting into it.
Every one should have a garden. In my old neighborhood I fed so many elders from my community garden of 65 members. I can grow over 75 different veggies. Once you eat garden food you will never want to go back to a food store.

Do you know about Deep South Homestead (in the South) and Off-Grid with Doug and Stacey (mid-West)? Great information along with many UA-cam channels on gardening. Get all tools now before they either sell out or get very expensive. Non-GMO seeds. Heirloom seeds. Wheelbarrows, shovels, trowels, food-grade buckets with lids, etc.
At 70, I understand your loving desires. Most days my small garden gives me reason to get up, go outside and watch life growing to help children and grandchildren. I am now learning about medicinal plants. I am collecting "weeds" to dry and save. Medications getting horribly expensive. The supply chains in our area have even delayed getting INSULIN to pharmacies. My type 1 daughter had to stretch out her insulin. This kept her alive. She knows of one young man who died trying to eek out enough insulin until supply available. We finally found some for her 80 miles away! Praise God we had transportation. Even in that city only one pharmacy had some. Thankfully, she got the last of it but tragically we felt heartbroken for the others who just missed it. Hold on to one another and faith. It is hard but our only hope for the evil, I believe, is on the way. No plant can help replace insulin. Learn anything that may help you or your neighbors to survive.😘

Food shortage creates fear in ppl😉 My experience in Tanzania is there are way too many cassava plants and banana trees for anyone to be without. Unlike some places it is not illegal to pick fruit or vegetables from the land. When they say tuko pamoja(we are together) the ppl of Tanzania mean it. Even the homeless eat daily bc we take care of each other.🇹🇿

Thank you GoBlack! This is so important, I started gardening again in 2020. The best thing that I could have done for my spiritual and mental health, not to mention the benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables. Knowing where and how my food is grown is comforting, as well as reconnecting to Spirit through nature. It is imperative that we get back to basics if we are to have some level of independency from a system bent on total control of our lives. Until I leave DamErica I'm learning as much as I can, to be able to feed myself and family. I also purchased as many fruit trees as I could (which have now doubled or tripled in price), as my Spirit showed me what was on the horizon. This year I purchased chickens for eggs, a dehydrator and a canner to preserve the foods I grow. I truly pray our people are listening! If we can't get out we must do something to sustain ourselves

We live in Germany. This year we harvested from a balcony 15 kg of tomatoes, 3 kg of radish and 1kg of Beetroot. In winter I plan to grow potatoes in corner of my room and paprika on windowsill. Paprika is grown from seeds taken from fruits in supermarket. Next year I build 2 regals and grow plans with UV-light indoors . So we have enough vegetables by ourselfs the whole year. Earth is mixed with all organic trash from kitchen , eggshells , cigarette ash and some earth from the woods to start composting, after 6 weeks mixed with a handful of charcoal. So you have literally Black Earth. Use all earth from harvested vegetables again in this manner and you have never to buy composted earth from hardware store again. This can be done here in Germany from March to October because of frost in Winter, and you dont want composting in living quarters because of flies. Greetings from Berlin and thank you for the vid
Very impressive harvests, smart seed collection and ingenious soil making! Where there is a will, there is a way. You prove it! I recommend LED indoor gardening. i grow collards, kale, potatoes, carrots, Chinese cabbage, pak choy under lights in the basement. These cool weather crops grow very well. Chinese cabbage leaf is good as a lettuce or spinach and the stalks are like celery. It's a very versatile green and fast growing. It's ready to harvest in a month here in Canada, or just 3 weeks in Tanzania. I'm actually short on sunshine, warmth and soil here with tall trees on every side. Gardening isn't great, but with about 150 sq. ft. of garden beds in a greenhouse, I can get enough food to feed myself all year round. The frost free grow season here is from Jun 1 to Sep 18 - less than 4 months. With the green house I can grow from Apr to Dec - 9 months. The greenhouse raises the temperature, limits wind and keeps the wild animals from raiding my garden. i cannot plant a garden in a bed that isn't surrounded with chickenwire. I lost corn and acorn squash this year and tomatoes and broccoli last year. Growing indoors and on your balcony is going to work out very well, since you won't have animals damaging your produce. :D Oh, I want to share that I got pomegranate seeds growing from a store-bought fruit. From what I read, they should produce indoors in a container and the leaves make a good tea. Blackberry and wild grape leaves also make good tea. All three types are very high in nutrients that protect the immune system and heart. I also got store-bought turmeric and ginger root to grow indoors. They are also nutrient dense and protect health. Good wisdom. I started gardening some years back. It is so rewarding. I now have a heart condition. But I still garden. I grow my veggies in raised beds, containers and hydroponically as well. It's worth it. Don't delay start growing today.

Fertilizer issues are a political excuse to get people to depend more on food stores. Food shortages are really due to the dramatic change in the sun. The sun goes through cycles every 200 years or so called a "solar minimum." The sun is in a GRAND SOLAR MINIMUM this cycle = less sunlight/heat north of the equator = many storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and irratic temperatures = immense crop loss = food shortages = food distribution issues = food prices to increase dramatically = worldwide hunger. Does Mama have her own channel...lol...I could listen to her all day. She is a very wise woman. I want to thank her....I teared up at the end when she said it's not too late. We are 55 and just moved to a new property and I was feeling anxious about getting in our new fruit trees, bushes & vines planted because it will take 3 to 4 years to get produce. But that's not good thinking.....not only are we planting for the generations but we are teaching our grandchildren skills.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm Brazilian and I'm thinking about going back to Brazil. Plenty of water, rich soil, long growing season, abundance of fruit trees and friendly people. Much easier to survive down there than here in the United States. And Brazil doesn't meddle in the affairs of other nations like the U.S. does. Nobody is mad at Brazil... I won't have to worry about having to deal with war down there.

I live in North Central Victoria, Australia. I have a permaculture farm and am working hard to improve my water supply with swales and creating upland bogs. Plants that grow well here include Indian Fig prickly pear, but now I have more water, I am also growing Lebanese Cress and arrowroot. Also, red veined sorrel and a lot of other crops as well. I prefer crops I only have to plant once, and I am glad that you are helping people to grow crops quickly and that you only have to plant once!

We love and support your way of life and are trying to do the same on our acreage. I am from South Africa my Grandma and parents also taught us to use the land for survival. I absolutely agree that we need to be self sustainable for the future. Currently we have most of the trees you speak of planted by previous generation EG Avocado, Jackfruit, bananas, naartjie, spinach, lemon, grape fruit, pomegranate, guava, Strawberries,paw-paw, Mango,a variety of herbs and beans etc. I recently retired and absolutely enjoy organic fruit and veg from the garden and share generously with friends and family. I am so excited to have watched your channel it inspires me to get my friends and neighbours to do the same. It is a great channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Find out the type of climate you're in, consider the hours of sun in whatever area you have to work with (on every property there are varying degrees of sunlight all around) in shady areas plant things that thrive in shade, sunny spot, sun loving veg. If you have the room consider trees (fruit/nuts/spices) shrubs (fruit, berries, herbs etc) grasses (herbs, seasonings, medicinal, beneficial for insects) plants (flowers for bug repellent/attractant vegetables, fruits, leafy greens etc. I have food, medicines and spices as well as a variety of trees. I take cuttings from everything I can to grow for free if I can find a resource, I buy seeds, even if I can't grow it immediately I can hold onto it till its time. I brought in wild edibles and medicinal and wildflowers that attract the bugs and animals I need in my garden to help maintain it. Instead of ornamental bushes (I cut them all down) I have beautiful tall lemongrass growing around the house (can be used as a seasoning, medicine, cleaning supply, and it smells splendid when anyone brushes against it. It's a process that starts with a seed/plant/tree/cutting, and a desire to succeed, the hunger to learn and the wisdom to try again if you fail, and the discernment to try doing it a different way till you find the way it works for you. It's an investment that won't pay off for at least a year (I mean the first year is all trial and error) but research (not just one video on a subject but 10 to 20 different approaches to a single subject before you decide on one) more that anything try try and keep on trying till you find the way that works.. I wish you all the best, it's a wonderful feeling when you begin to see it producing.

I have a very small space but I managed to plant peach tee, Concorde grapes , figs, tons of lemon grass, sweet potatoes, habanero chilis, spring onions, perilla leaves, nasturtium, tomatoes, greens for salad. I have tons of squash that’s climbing up my tree . My neighbors enjoys them because I lots to share. I also compost all my kitchen scrap. You can create your own abundance simply by planting.
A very intelligent and wise woman. All the work on her farm is down by people. That brother climbing the palm tree is in shape. Her explanation of how growing only one crop kills the microbes and eventually the soil was spot on. George Washington Carver also advised crop rotation and letting the land rest to recover naturally. When I was a child in Houston Texas there were fig trees everywhere. The fruit was always sweet. My great aunt Ella would make fig preserves every year. By the time I became an adult all the wild fig trees were gone, and you had to buy figs from a store. The fig had become another food that had been weaponized. It is now expensive and has no flavor. This precious woman speaks the truth.
This is great! I was just telling a friend that we must stop depending on the grocery store for food. My friend responded that her faith will not allow her to go hungry and the food will be there in the grocery store, she's not worried....lol...it's funny but not funny.

Africa is going back to growing her own food as that's how the continent survived the Great Depression 100years ago. We've heard colonisers like Kill Bill Gates of HELL trying to replace organic seeds with GMO obe claiming they produce food faster. What he conveniently left out was those GMO seeds just poisoned the soil and never produced anything. These devils have been trying to take all organic seeds and make Africa reliant on their poison seeds and vaccines that were made to prevent Africa from becoming self sufficient and self reliant. Thank you for this video, I've been a farmer and live in the Netherlands (Europe), what mommy says here about the food that comes from the industry, that it's simple, you just have to buy it and do nothing yourself, that's what happened in our country. Now so few people know anything about growing your own fruit and vegetables, or don't feel like working in the garden. And now our government is making it difficult for the large farmers to continue farming, so now is the time to learn how to grow your own fruit and vegetables. This is a very important video that needs to be shared. I have always had the strong desire to get land in North Carolina and live off the land and pass it down and grow to sustain life but I feely young adult children don't share my beliefs. I still want to do this for my family in hope they may see the light. Wanting to learn more about Shelf sustainability has been deep within me for the past 15 years.
Hemp was just legalized as a crop for North Carolina (July 2, 2022). The land in eastern NC is great for agriculture, and relatively cheap, if you can stand the heat and humidity (some people can, others cannot). Great place to grow food as well, with a long growing season. Truck farms (produce farms) have rich black soil with sand in it, so all kinds of foods grow well. Excellent soil for growing a homestead. My grandparents were tobacco farmers down there and grew much of their own food. Now that tobacco and cotton subsidies have dropped, maybe the money crop is hemp, which can of course be used to make clothing, ropes, and many other things, even hemp protein which is very nutritious. I would think the land would be cheaper than most other locations in the country at this point. So many crops can grow there, with a long growing season compared to where I live now, in New Mexico. I would try not to live too close to a swamp, however - mosquitos will be carrying more deadly diseases. Using Rudolph Steiner's growing methods produces phenomenally healthful food. Best wishes!
I have started my garden too. Been eating the white swiss chard, a type of cabbage (that never goe out as long as water). Carrots and more. So thankful my moms bought a big land in Africa (Ethiopia). We have avocado and mangoes trees too. Plus still planting more

@@roysmith3767 Ok for many years, people have been giving to charities, childrens funds, UN, Red Cross, salvos, etc etc, what happened to all those funds. I remember going to school in the 60s and we had rice days to raise money for the poor people. It’s the people who are running the countries that are not distributing resources and funds to their people and enslaving. That’s the global problem which they will not allow us to fix… what about all the programs that people have volunteered time and money for these countries to help them grow gardens, water supply etc. what ever happened to those. Plus A lot of these countries they have lots of children as part of their culture because that becomes part of their wealth. These giants if they had hearts and souls would be investing in these countries and educating them to preserve their cultures, learn how to help themselves. This is all a psyop. People are also lazy and I get they don’t have resources, sometimes, but look at most of our youth, they are glued to social media, internet games, drugs, alcohol. Parents are no longer allowed to parent because of demonic ideologies and sexual orientations. Plus why are we paying tax when investing for money that we do not physically have because it gets lost in the black hole. There is so much we can do, but we are being stopped….just because these people have money doesn’t make them smart….it’s these giants that are the problem, they still want their lifestyles. I always say life is a journey, not a destination. It’s the in between hard work that not many want to do between the ages of 18 and 55 etc…..just saying…

I love the braided baskets...I was taught this as a child in the Caribbean and we also grew our own food as well. If my family grew potatoes and our neighbor grew breadfruit we would trade. I missed those days!!!!

I started gardening using the reusable grocery bags, first potatoes from the grocery store that began growing eyes. Those things were amazing, then on to many different types of veggies in the bags but I planted 2-3 different kinds in each bag. At the end of summer all the soil was dumped into a pile to be mixed up then over winter in the pile. Come spring we refilled the bags with the soil and our 2 yr old compost scraps from the kitchen. My harvest was so big that I couldn't keep up with it so I started giving food away to anyone that wanted it. Someone complained and I was shut down by the city. Big gvmt stopped a free food give away because they said it wasn't approved.
@@nancyaneli7986 All you do is save any peels you may have-i.e. onion, potato, celery, egg shells, coffee ground, etc.-anything organic. My mom had a garden and I would watch and help her. I don't have any grass and bad soil in my back yard, so I used a storage bin with holes drilled in it to plant green onions. I used a potting soil and combined it with my compost. I will get another one for other things.

First time viewer/listener. Thank you Mama. I live in the New England area of the US so our growing season is on the end side as we enter fall and winter. My sister gardens and she has said the same thing that the chemical fertilizers from companies like Monsanto are horrible for mother Earth. She uses her grass and leaves and lets the worms do their work by rotating what naural fertilizers she has when they are ready to use. I have been saving my egg shells, bake them and crush them for their calcium. I'm hoping to use hydroponic growing for the upcoming winter and plan to plant in buckets in the spring. I've been gardening organically for 50 years in the northeast region of the U.S. We only have a short growing season, May to September, so we have to make the best of it and then can or freeze the excess. In the U. S. people starting their own "homestead" has been growing rapidly in recent years. By definition a homestead is a home with land that grows animals and food/gardens organically and helps the family to become self sufficient. I hope this is happening world wide.
Awesome to hear of your sucess. Too many people 'jump in' and say they are going to grow their own food, but don't realize the need to research./learn FRST. No all areas are able to be cultivated for one reason or more. Too many are not suited for the long hours and dedication to even grow in containers let alone a homestead. I due to my paralysis am a container gardener. I raised chickens and quail for many years. As I have aged (66 now) it became more difficult so I gave my hens/quail to new homes and continue a small porch/driveway container veggie system. As I have 11 acre I can maintain a nice compost heap for my soil refreshment. Keep up your great farm and attitude

At 70, I understand your loving desires. Most days my small garden gives me reason to get up, go outside and watch life growing to help children and grandchildren. I am now learning about medicinal plants. I am collecting "weeds" to dry and save. Medications getting horribly expensive. The supply chains in our area have even delayed getting INSULIN to pharmacies. My type 1 daughter had to stretch out her insulin. This kept her alive. She knows of one young man who died trying to eek out enough insulin until supply available. We finally found some for her 80 miles away! Praise God we had transportation. Even in that city only one pharmacy had some. Thankfully, she got the last of it but tragically we felt heartbroken for the others who just missed it. Hold on to one another and faith. It is hard but our only hope for the evil, I believe, is on the way. No plant can help replace insulin. Learn anything that may help you or your neighbors to survive.😘

Food shortage creates fear in ppl😉 My experience in Tanzania is there are way too many cassava plants and banana trees for anyone to be without. Unlike some places it is not illegal to pick fruit or vegetables from the land. When they say tuko pamoja(we are together) the ppl of Tanzania mean it. Even the homeless eat daily bc we take care of each other.🇹🇿

Thank you GoBlack! This is so important, I started gardening again in 2020. The best thing that I could have done for my spiritual and mental health, not to mention the benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables. Knowing where and how my food is grown is comforting, as well as reconnecting to Spirit through nature. It is imperative that we get back to basics if we are to have some level of independency from a system bent on total control of our lives. Until I leave DamErica I'm learning as much as I can, to be able to feed myself and family. I also purchased as many fruit trees as I could (which have now doubled or tripled in price), as my Spirit showed me what was on the horizon. This year I purchased chickens for eggs, a dehydrator and a canner to preserve the foods I grow. I truly pray our people are listening! If we can't get out we must do something to sustain ourselves

We live in Germany. This year we harvested from a balcony 15 kg of tomatoes, 3 kg of radish and 1kg of Beetroot. In winter I plan to grow potatoes in corner of my room and paprika on windowsill. Paprika is grown from seeds taken from fruits in supermarket. Next year I build 2 regals and grow plans with UV-light indoors . So we have enough vegetables by ourselfs the whole year.
Earth is mixed with all organic trash from kitchen , eggshells , cigarette ash and some earth from the woods to start composting, after 6 weeks mixed with a handful of charcoal. So you have literally Black Earth. Use all earth from harvested vegetables again in this manner and you have never to buy composted earth from hardware store again. This can be done here in Germany from March to October because of frost in Winter, and you dont want composting in living quarters because of flies.

Very impressive harvests, smart seed collection and ingenious soil making! Where there is a will, there is a way. You prove it! I recommend LED indoor gardening. i grow collards, kale, potatoes, carrots, Chinese cabbage, pak choy under lights in the basement. These cool weather crops grow very well. Chinese cabbage leaf is good as a lettuce or spinach and the stalks are like celery. It's a very versatile green and fast growing. It's ready to harvest in a month here in Canada, or just 3 weeks in Tanzania. I'm actually short on sunshine, warmth and soil here with tall trees on every side. Gardening isn't great, but with about 150 sq. ft. of garden beds in a greenhouse, I can get enough food to feed myself all year round. The frost free grow season here is from Jun 1 to Sep 18 - less than 4 months. With the green house I can grow from Apr to Dec - 9 months. The greenhouse raises the temperature, limits wind and keeps the wild animals from raiding my garden. i cannot plant a garden in a bed that isn't surrounded with chickenwire. I lost corn and acorn squash this year and tomatoes and broccoli last year.
Growing indoors and on your balcony is going to work out very well, since you won't have animals damaging your produce. :D
Oh, I want to share that I got pomegranate seeds growing from a store-bought fruit. From what I read, they should produce indoors in a container and the leaves make a good tea. Blackberry and wild grape leaves also make good tea. All three types are very high in nutrients that protect the immune system and heart. I also got store-bought turmeric and ginger root to grow indoors. They are also nutrient dense and protect health.

Food shortages are really due to the dramatic change in the sun. The sun goes through cycles every 200 years or so called a "solar minimum." We are 55 and just moved to a new property and I was feeling anxious about getting in our new fruit trees, bushes & vines planted because it will take 3 to 4 years to get produce. But that's not good thinking.....not only are we planting for the generations but we are teaching our grandchildren skills.

I live in North Central Victoria, Australia. I have a permaculture farm and am working hard to improve my water supply with swales and creating upland bogs. Plants that grow well here include Indian Fig prickly pear, but now I have more water, I am also growing Lebanese Cress and arrowroot. Also, red veined sorrel and a lot of other crops as well. I prefer crops I only have to plant once, and I am glad that you are helping people to grow crops quickly and that you only have to plant once!

I am from South Africa my Grandma and parents also taught us to use the land for survival. I absolutely agree that we need to be self sustainable for the future. Currently we have most of the trees you speak of planted by previous generation EG Avocado, Jackfruit, bananas, naartjie, spinach, lemon, grape fruit, pomegranate, guava, Strawberries,paw-paw, Mango,a variety of herbs and beans etc. I recently retired and absolutely enjoy organic fruit and veg from the garden and share generously with friends and family. Find out the type of climate you're in, consider the hours of sun in whatever area you have to work with (on every property there are varying degrees of sunlight all around) in shady areas plant things that thrive in shade, sunny spot, sun loving veg. If you have the room consider trees (fruit/nuts/spices) shrubs (fruit, berries, herbs etc) grasses (herbs, seasonings, medicinal, beneficial for insects) plants (flowers for bug repellent/attractant vegetables, fruits, leafy greens etc. I have food, medicines and spices as well as a variety of trees. I take cuttings from everything I can to grow for free if I can find a resource, I buy seeds, even if I can't grow it immediately I can hold onto it till its time. I brought in wild edibles and medicinal and wildflowers that attract the bugs and animals I need in my garden to help maintain it. Instead of ornamental bushes (I cut them all down) I have beautiful tall lemongrass growing around the house (can be used as a seasoning, medicine, cleaning supply, and it smells splendid when anyone brushes against it. It's a process that starts with a seed/plant/tree/cutting, and a desire to succeed, the hunger to learn and the wisdom to try again if you fail, and the discernment to try doing it a different way till you find the way it works for you. It's an investment that won't pay off for at least a year (I mean the first year is all trial and error) but research (not just one video on a subject but 10 to 20 different approaches to a single subject before you decide on one) more that anything try try and keep on trying till you find the way that works.. I wish you all the best, it's a wonderful feeling when you begin to see it producing.

I have a very small space but I managed to plant peach tee, Concorde grapes , figs, tons of lemon grass, sweet potatoes, habanero chilis, spring onions, perilla leaves, nasturtium, tomatoes, greens for salad. I have tons of squash that’s climbing up my tree . My neighbors enjoys them because I lots to share. I also compost all my kitchen scrap. You can create your own abundance simply by planting.

A very intelligent and wise woman. All the work on her farm is down by people. That brother climbing the palm tree is in shape. Her explanation of how growing only one crop kills the microbes and eventually the soil was spot on. George Washington Carver also advised crop rotation and letting the land rest to recover naturally. When I was a child in Houston Texas there were fig trees everywhere. The fruit was always sweet. My great aunt Ella would make fig preserves every year. By the time I became an adult all the wild fig trees were gone, and you had to buy figs from a store. The fig had become another food that had been weaponized. It is now expensive and has no flavor. This precious woman speaks the truth.
This is great! I was just telling a friend that we must stop depending on the grocery store for food. My friend responded that her faith will not allow her to go hungry and the food will be there in the grocery store, she's not worried....lol...it's funny but not funny.

Thank you for this video, I've been a farmer and live in the Netherlands (Europe), what mommy says here about the food that comes from the industry, that it's simple, you just have to buy it and do nothing yourself, that's what happened in our country. Now so few people know anything about growing your own fruit and vegetables, or don't feel like working in the garden. And now our government is making it difficult for the large farmers to continue farming, so now is the time to learn how to grow your own fruit and vegetables. Very nice to see a permaculture farm in Africa, everything is so green. God bless.

This is a very important video that needs to be shared. I have always had the strong desire to get land in North Carolina and live off the land and pass it down and grow to sustain life but I feely young adult children don't share my beliefs. I still want to do this for my family in hope they may see the light. Wanting to learn more about Shelf sustainability has been deep within me for the past 15 years.
Hemp was just legalized as a crop for North Carolina (July 2, 2022). The land in eastern NC is great for agriculture, and relatively cheap, if you can stand the heat and humidity (some people can, others cannot). Great place to grow food as well, with a long growing season. Truck farms (produce farms) have rich black soil with sand in it, so all kinds of foods grow well. Excellent soil for growing a homestead. My grandparents were tobacco farmers down there and grew much of their own food. Now that tobacco and cotton subsidies have dropped, maybe the money crop is hemp, which can of course be used to make clothing, ropes, and many other things, even hemp protein which is very nutritious. I would think the land would be cheaper than most other locations in the country at this point. So many crops can grow there, with a long growing season compared to where I live now, in New Mexico. I would try not to live too close to a swamp, however - mosquitos will be carrying more deadly diseases. Using Rudolph Steiner's growing methods produces phenomenally healthful food. Best wishes!

I have started my garden too. Been eating the white swiss chard, a type of cabbage (that never goe out as long as water). Carrots and more. So thankful my moms bought a big land in Africa (Ethiopia). We have avocado and mangoes trees too. Plus still planting more

@@roysmith3767 Ok for many years, people have been giving to charities, childrens funds, UN, Red Cross, salvos, etc etc, what happened to all those funds. I remember going to school in the 60s and we had rice days to raise money for the poor people.
It’s the people who are running the countries that are not distributing resources and funds to their people and enslaving. That’s the global problem which they will not allow us to fix…
what about all the programs that people have volunteered time and money for these countries to help them grow gardens, water supply etc. what ever happened to those. Plus A lot of these countries they have lots of children as part of their culture because that becomes part of their wealth.
These giants if they had hearts and souls would be investing in these countries and educating them to preserve their cultures, learn how to help themselves. This is all a psyop.
People are also lazy and I get they don’t have resources, sometimes, but look at most of our youth, they are glued to social media, internet games, drugs, alcohol. Parents are no longer allowed to parent because of demonic ideologies and sexual orientations.
Plus why are we paying tax when investing for money that we do not physically have because it gets lost in the black hole.
There is so much we can do, but we are being stopped….just because these people have money doesn’t make them smart….it’s these giants that are the problem, they still want their lifestyles. I always say life is a journey, not a destination. It’s the in between hard work that not many want to do between the ages of 18 and 55 etc…..just saying…

I love the braided baskets...I was taught this as a child in the Caribbean and we also grew our own food as well. If my family grew potatoes and our neighbor grew breadfruit we would trade. I missed those days!!!!

Hi i am from trinidad and tobago we used a lot coconut cassave and green figs also
I started gardening using the reusable grocery bags, first potatoes from the grocery store that began growing eyes. Those things were amazing, then on to many different types of veggies in the bags but I planted 2-3 different kinds in each bag. At the end of summer all the soil was dumped into a pile to be mixed up then over winter in the pile. Come spring we refilled the bags with the soil and our 2 yr old compost scraps from the kitchen. My harvest was so big that I couldn't keep up with it so I started giving food away to anyone that wanted it. Someone complained and I was shut down by the city. Big gvmt stopped a free food give away because they said it wasn't approved.
I find that ridiculous that free food giveaway needs to be approved. Would they rather have hunger people on the streets?...
Shame on the complainers.

@@nancyaneli7986 All you do is save any peels you may have-i.e. onion, potato, celery, egg shells, coffee ground, etc.-anything organic. My mom had a garden and I would watch and help her. I don't have any grass and bad soil in my back yard, so I used a storage bin with holes drilled in it to plant green onions. I used a potting soil and combined it with my compost. I will get another one for other things.

First time viewer/listener. Thank you Mama. I live in the New England area of the US so our growing season is on the end side as we enter fall and winter. My sister gardens and she has said the same thing that the chemical fertilizers from companies like Monsanto are horrible for mother Earth. She uses her grass and leaves and lets the worms do their work by rotating what naural fertilizers she has when they are ready to use. I have been saving my egg shells, bake them and crush them for their calcium. I'm hoping to use hydroponic growing for the upcoming winter and plan to plant in buckets in the spring. May you have a fruitful year ahead and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I’m in Eastern North Carolina, US. I’m trying to start a patio garden as I don’t have any actual land, but I do have the perfect growing conditions. So far I’ve got cucumbers, tomatoes and banana peppers growing well. Thank you for these tips. Your garden looks amazing and it is so beautiful there with all of the coconut trees.
