It's going to be fun to what Mod's will come out shortly after release. I think the modding community for this game will be phenomenal and looking forward to see it develop. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what's ahead.

Me too, and I think Bethesda knows that. That gives me hope they give us a solid foundation of a game for everyone to build on. Modders are an amazing group of people and I'm happy to shed what light I can on them! Thanks for the comment!

I'm actually trying out Depravity now... Good author, can't wait to see what he makes. As to carry weight, I'd love to see group carry weight be a thing. Having to navigate menus and swap gear around is, for me, just too much of a bother. Mods like Salvage Beacons help, but are not really intended to replace the companion carry system so much as to supplement gameplay and reduce town runs. For a packrat like me, that is a huge difference.

I feel you. There is a certain love hate with companions. I want to do missions by myself but I want to hear there commentary (and Have them be my carry mules).

@@shilohmc I won't lie, first playthrough I'm getting the adoring fan and the family, guaranteed. I just want to see how far they go, and watch them interact with the game. Solo can be fun (and often necessary, if you want to be stealth anything), but it just hits different with someone at your side.
I'm just hoping they use what they learned in 76 and give us what we've been asking for: The full single player experience with the ability to have player companions that log into a non-instanced world where we share the same singular story. They certainly took a step in that direction by adding the ability for companions to respond for you in dialogue.
Honestly, I'd love to join other people's crews just to see the worlds they built for themselves, plus it adds so much more gameplay through build synergy (for example, I play crafters and builders, so backing a strong fighter would be helpful to us both... or having a researcher to figure out alien artifacts and a scout to safely get them in, and back out, of the missions needed to find them...). The possibilities are nearly endless.

I remember hearing Bethesda saying they had a lot of content and it was more of an issue of what they keep and what the cut for release. I'm curious what their main focus will be (Travel, exploration, combat, narrative...). But I don't know if they will touch any multiplayer in this game. Plus multiplayer can make modding more complicated. Hopefully we get an answer this Sunday.

      @DiogenesDworkinson Рік тому +1

@@shilohmc multiplayer shouldn't really harm modding if it's out of the box... Players will just need matching modlists so the game is trying to find nonexistant references in-game. It's only changes after modding that cause issues.
As to cut content, I'll always believe removing multiplayer and cutting the surviving duo in half was a HUGE mistake.

the only thing I do not like about Thuggysmurf's mods is the NSFW content as it is very overused in his mods as for some reason most locations in Thuggysmurf mods are strip clubs and I get there would be a few but its nearly every main location

Convenience is a thing. But the PC crowd thrives on elitism. And that crafting of your own functional LO is part of that elitism. If you're not competent enough to make a LO, that's just it. You're not competent. Therefore looked down on.
It sucks. But it is what it is.

It's the same with anything, we are always advancing from the shoulders of giants but we like to pretend our generation always had it the hardest and did it the best. So all Noobs, get out there and mod shit you don't understand!!

It's not elitism, but the ability to choose. He said that having a LO unique to you is better because it simply is. Whenever you are downloading a Modpack, you are agreeing to play the vision of whoever made that modpack, with things in it you agree with or not. Collections or wabbajack modlists give you a premade amount of elements but take away your freedom to choose.
Not only that, but remember that the environment of modding is just a big wild west, no matter how organized it pretends to be, and how "convenient" it becomes, behind the curtain, its a mesh of resources made by people that have no obligation to help you or give you support. A mod fails? A mod conflicts? An update breaks things? Good luck getting help, maybe the mod author will give you a hand, or the modpack author will, but maybe not, and you will be sitting there with a bunch of broken files and no idea of how to fix them.
That's why having some modding knowledge is important, from knowing what a good LO looks like, to resolving conflicts with XEdit, or creating merged patches, etc. Not to appease the snobbism of PC gamers, but to help yourself out of a bad spot and make informed decisions. This is not even counting the now more recurrent problem that modlists create, where a bunch of people that have no idea of how modding works download a premade list with hundreds or thousands of mods, then when something breaks they flood the offending mod author's nexus page demanding answers and fixes to things they themselves don't understand, and that once more, the mod author has no obligation to help them with. (This has already happened in a modlist I was playing).
TLDR: Learn to mod to help yourself, not to appease some elitist crowd.

No, Thuggysmurf is right... That is hardwired into men genetically after millions of years of evolutionary psychology being programmed into us by reality. This modern fad is a neurodivergent phenomena that really does not fit well with the overwhelming majority of men, who seek to escape that fad through games that can provide a healthy outlet. Failing to provide that healthy outlet in order to conform to standards that didn't exist 20 years ago and likely won't exist 20 years from now is a mistake on par with Budweiser... Now, there is also part of that which is tied to growth and overcoming challenges, but that is part of the greater whole.

There is truth to what you say, but the more certain I feel that one way is our "true way" as humans, my opinion falls apart years later. Everytime I have thought this generation doesn't know good music, I hear my dad in the back of my head saying the same about my music. My point is, we live for such a short time and our perspective is so small, I can not be certain that me and my generation have any right perspective. I appreciate your comments on my videos! Have a great Sunday.
