Just wanted to say thank you for your UA-cam videos. I’m volunteering in Kentucky from the tornado disaster. Have my Kubota tractor but a company loaned a property owner a very large Track Hoe to help in removing hundreds of large hardwood trees. Got my first experience operating something that big and relied on a lot of what I’ve learned from you and your channel. Prior to this the biggest equipment I had operated was a skid steer and mini excavator. Thanks again.
I'm glad that the videos on this channel were able to help you out in your volunteer work, and I wish you all the best in your efforts to help the community recover from the tornado disaster. Keep up the great work!
Hey I was watching that whole thing in person storm chasing and saw the damage! It was bad even tho it was two years ago now they are still cleaning up from the disaster! I hope you and your family are safe and did not get hit and hope you also changed somebody’s life!
Here in Australia i used to operate one of these when they first came out i remember getting it on the trailer float up at the mine with coal on the tracks it slid off the trailer i dug a hole full reach down 64 feet for a coal wash recovery pit there not very powerful to dig with but reach out they sure do lol
It's never too late to start learning something new! You can still pursue your interest in operating excavator machines as a hobby or even as a career if you want to. Who knows, you might discover a hidden talent and passion for it. Good luck!
@@TudaTenTv absolutely I've wanted to operate heavy equipment since I've been a kid. I've been in the trucking industry for 35 yrs. Over the road, local absolutely love it bit I still want to operate heavy equipment
That looked like a longterm job. Years ago the lake my dad like to fish in had a similar problem maintenance took a net like thing and circled the mess and drew it on to the shore. It was interesting to see it done. Funny what seeing you dredging brought up a memory from nearly 70 years ago.
Hey guys!? How do you know, that you are growing old..?! That is when you find yourselves watching videos like this quite often... Or even better: when you see this kind of stuff live, you can't stop staring it, but you stand watching it a long time like in trance😊 But this stuff is the next thing to watch after ladies, anyway🙂 And excavators won't mind if you are watching🧐
I've been watching all kinds of content for a while. These videos of tradesmen doing such a good job are the best. But like, not the top 10 bullcrap with the bells and whistles. The raw, unedited ones. The other trade I find to be super spectacular is transmission line work. There are some videos going around where these guys go on an helicopter to maintain some otherwise inaccessible cables.
you just start pulling on several different places. The way we do this, we put a much wider raker-bucket on the long boom, and we start pulling as far away as possible, and pull a few meters wide to the side. We scoop that out, and start again where we stopped. Pulling at random places, everything starts floating around, resulting in uneven loads. So, pull a few meters wide, remove it, and drive forward, or backward a few meters, and start again. Goes lots faster. Keep it up!
The sun will cook that seaweed and it'll be brown and dry as a dessert in a day or 2. I live on a river and pull seaweed so I can get my boat to my dock and that stuff loses water like a sponge.
Thank about running new hydraulic lines on this thing or how much grease the grease fittings would take or changing a hydraulic cylinder and how much hydraulic fluid...
Maybe I don't understand everything going on here, but there's a bunch of weeds because the water is shallow. So without actually digging the canal (creek, river, whatever) deeper the weeds will grow back. My friend just had a pond enlarged and he told me based on info he read that the pond had to be at least 10 feet deep to prevent weeds from growing. This is in northern Indiana, in other states the depth may be different.
A thumb would sure help you now. A dredge bucket with holes and a thumb would end the shaking and speed you up too. I know the rental people would never have a dredge bucket on the yard.
What do you do with the grass that is piled on the bank? Load it w/ the Volvo & haul it away? Awesome video Chris. Glad to see they got the controls fixed for ya! You videos are some of my favorites on here.
I'm going crazy watching how sporadic this operator is with choosing where to stick his bucket. I mean what happened to systematically cleaning up as you go, I couldn't finish the video.
And here goes a new episode of “why the hell is this in my recommended”. On today’s edition, five years pass before a video of somebody cleaning grass off of a river finally surfaces

Admittedly, this is a great video about the long-reach excavator.
Have you ever accidentally scooped up an alligator while doing that

His view is the better solution to the problem, I was wondering myself why not a wider bucket and reach out farther.
I like heavy equipment. The operator is a very good skill. Thank you from Japan.

Is that bucket a little small or is it appropriate for this job?
Longer the reach smaller the bucket. So the machine want tip over and can pick up the weight.
Amazing machines good.Thank you for your videos.

That little excavator further down the bank is you, the one doing the digging is the one she says you shouldn’t worry about…
wondering how often they have to do this?
wouldn't putting a thumb on it allow it to pick up more? and if the bucket had holes it would leave the water behind.
Would a "closely pitched fork" bucket be more effective at this type of work. Just wondering?
I dont think it would, seems more like a waste of time
I think it has merit. Would avoid digging a lot of water. Of course, I can't even spell xcavator... :-)

@peterpocock9062 is petercock “closely pitched”. Just wondering?
I would think you could take a long net with weights on bottom and drag to shore then it would be more in one place
