Glad the video was helpful! The only thing I would like to change in the video is the storage of the gate. A Maxon rep called me up and told me the best way to store the gate is all the way in the up position. If the gate is resting on the chains the gate tends to bounce up and down while traveling and could prematurely wear the seals.
Oh that's how they're supposed to open when they're new. Where I work they're all pretty difficult to open and close and we have some that the springs must be completely shot. Its a straight deadlift to open that second piece or push it back up. I look like a powerlifter starting at the waist and pushing it over my head as it falls with a deafening sound you can probably hear for a mile. This is all done in the middle of the night at restaurants with condos and apartments often across the street. I would complain if I were them. Maybe I can get the liftgates repaired where I work. 😂😂😂😂😂
Wayne, I would agree to an extent. If you are running the gate for a long time it helps to run the truck so that the batteries don't die. From a safety standpoint I recommend that the truck is off and in park with the wheels chocked in certain situations. I've seen guys jump in to move a truck and forgot that there partner was in the back using the gate.
It may just be me being overcausious but you put your hands in situations that if you HW failed you would be seriously injured. While inspecting the hydraulics box or getting between the gate and the truck I would shut off all electric switches to prevent getting pinned down because of some HW malfunction or from some with a malevolent bend. Most people are in general very bad at observing safety guidelines, I think all safety videos have to be "safe to the extreme". I think you could improve on this video and would be extraordinarily valuable.
So at 1:38 the gate does not come all the way to the ground and “that’s a special feature to this gate” is said, what exactly is the “special feature”?
Your video would be more effective if you showed what happens to a 2x4 caught between the lift and the floor. Then ask, what would happen if that was a foot? If someone rides the lift, stop 6 inches before the top and shout, "Feet".
Great video. Detailed and informative. Thanks
From a safety pro - Nice job.
Thanks, better than the other videos😊

2018 isuzu flatbed with a rear liftgate ,can you drop weight on the lift while it’s raised without causing damage ?
I definitely would recommend the engine idle during the use of the liftgate

Nice..👍🏿
How much would a used lift gate like that would cost to have installed on a box truck, Like the one in this video?

My lifegate auxiliary on and off switch button not lighting up when I turn it on ?
Can that gate hold 2500lb?

Probably to avoid the ramp from slamming down against the ground.. 😅
I can’t get mine to work
