Be me, i gave landrover a chance. Now i had 4 and 2 of them have 400000km and are all original driving gear. Other 2 are newer and have 120000km. People bitch about reliability but ive lived it and i will say its no different to toyota. Just service the cars every 10000km not 30k
The reliability of the new defender is actually better than anything LR has ever made. It's just the insane depreciation that would make you nuts for buying a new one.
I really don’t understand the comments on reliability. I have owned 8 LRs now and never had any let me down. Absolutely had minor issues. Has anyone actually mentioned how unreliable the 300’s been? Bloody thing always in the shop with issues
My wife had a 130 V8 delivered on 19th of November ..... it has the last spent 3 weeks at the dealer waiting for parts due to a water pump issue .... it has had numerous minor issues including the electric windows not working .... this car is frankly a piece of crap and I've hired a lawyer to make a lemon law claim so we can cancel the lease. Should have bought a Lexus
Matt, another thing to consider when buying v8's. Is that the new vehicle efficiency standard came in. Will be enforced by July. So another price rise. I jumped in last month and got a Patrol Warrior. Plenty of grest deals on these.
on first glance loved it already too much but once I saw the pax seat and the "hole" in front of you .. unbelievable to pay over 100k$ ... I stay with the G class ;)
Had to stifle a chuckle when you said that, "this car has had a life already.., and it only has 6,551kms and trim pieces already falling off. Imagine the Land Rover sales guy telling you this, when you've just dropped the best part of $250k on a vehicle!

I’m sure it’s awesome to sit in and so long as you don’t need to actually drive it, it should be reliable. If you do want to drive it, maybe buy a second car and drive that.
Make no mistake. It’s not compromised off road. Very capable. However. Omg. Reliability 😮😮😮. Fear. If it was reliable. It be the ultimate. I’ve heard good things but all new 4wds are too complicated. Very scary with all those electronics.
The “ sheeple “ keep buying anything that looks like an SUV ! That’s why all car companies now pump out soooo many different sizes of pretend SUV / 4WD looking vehicles Even if it’s just FWD, such as many of the small SUV looking new vehicles. As a 5 seater, this Defender 130, would be a great overlanding vehicle, with the D350 engine.
As Matt said, if u regularly want to have 6 or 7 or 8 people in a vehicle, the Kia Carnival is the best vehicle for this requirement ! But The sheeple just keep on buying Patrol or LC instead !
Sorry nothing nice to say about this car, so I would stick with the Carnival its just better. at a quarter of the price. These things are hand grenades unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw away knock yourself out.
The Defender used to be a vehicle you would happily take off road and wouldn't mind if it got scratched or scuffed. Who is going to take this lovely shiny $200'000 vehicle off road? You essentially have an overpriced, overengineered softroader for town use.

The price premium for the V8, plus extra GST & LCT make this particular model very expensive ! The D350 & P400 versions are much less expensive. Huge breadth of capability. And a very comfy daily driver, with all the safety and tech etc, that u never got with the previous generation Defender.
