William Ode I played the one called 120 Bible Hymns and my dear wife of 81 years old has dementia remembered, them all since she was young in church and sung right along with them all; what do you think of that? It gave her a little bit of sunshine in this dark hour.
I feel for you. It is a terrible thing to live through, one of the scariest things you can experience. Most people don't think about how terrible it must be to loose your very memories, your mind, your conscious SELF. Better to have some mere physical illness, really. At least you have your mind and your memories right until the end that way. It never really dawned on me until quite recently how terrifying it really must be to have a brain inury or dementia. And it's almost as bad for those who have to watch it happen to others. God bless you both and I hope you have a happy Christmas.
I'm a long haul truck driver these days and often not home for the holy days., Years ago, when I had a normal job, I would meet up with three friends from choir on the afternoon of Christmas day at a local nursing home. We would walk the halls singing carols. We would spend about an hour doing this. The cries of joy from some of the residents would rip at my heart. It would often become difficult to keep singing. If you have the opportunity, please look into doing this near where you live. If the Lord has blessed you with a voice, please share that gift with the shut-in.
This is just wonderful. Thank you! I have enjoyed reading the comments of your followers, especially from people who compare this kind of music to that currently played/sung in many churches today; the 'choruses' and other trite so-called music. There's NOTHING to compare to this kind of music, played and sung with dignity, decorum and grace. Such depth of the words and spirituality. Thank you!
Just because there may be a guitar used, doesn't mean it's fit for a Rock festival. Some people must like it, fair enough, but it alienates me with it's pointlessly soppy emptyness. Modern Church music, like modern buildings, is weak & inferior to the older, real stuff < which is actually far more akin to Rock music as they both have power & emotive strength which modern Church twang lacks.
@@TheMercury-13 I like your thoughts on the subject. And you expressed it better than I did. There is nothing wrong with rock music , I like it. And a guitar in worship is good , for example much spiritual work by J S Bach can be transcripted to guitar and it sounds great But, yes, it's the over emotions of much modern worship music that I cannot accept . And the fact that it sets up the atmosphere more of a crowd at a rock festival (and I have been to many) than that of persons meant to be in sincere meditation in church or at home praying .
Anther advent season has come, many people here in Canada still needlessly in fear of 'C' and the world is in worse shape than ever. This music brings me such comfort and not as it is not sing in our churches.
So it should... Those who set and naught and sold Him, pierced and nailed Him to the tree, deeply wailing, deeply wailing, deeply wailing, shall the true messiah see.
Just recently moved here to Corpus Christi Texas. I have been to the cathedral twice recently. It is a cross between a Spanish mission and a seaside church. Absolutely beautiful. The organ is a 4 manual, I am not sure exactly how many stops. Probably 80-100. There are 2 or 3 pipes on display in the choir loft that are slumped over from the Texas heat. Those two dead notes are not even noticeable and the music is heavenly 😍
Advent, & especially Advent hymns never get the attention & love they deserve. The secular radio stations would never include these on their Christmas music playlists...but they should..
I worry more of the Christians ( in newer worship communities) who do not follow the liturgical calendar and have no idea of these hymns which document Israel's and our yearnings for the Savior. Blessed Advent to all.

I never even realized that my favorite Christmas songs were actually advent songs. I never knew there was a difference. I keep listening to this over and over for the last few days, these are fantastically good pieces. And the organ is superb!
So glad you discovered that there is a difference. For those who follow the church year some of the finest music is for the Advent season. Keep listening and learning.
Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful video! I just love Christmas music and message it brings...especially in these uncertain times. May the Lord bless and take care of us all in His good way. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unbelievably, I have two memories from when I was 2 years old (both are of our home we moved out of before I was 3, so it is a reliable time-stamp). First is of Christmas and my Dad had given "me" a model train (American Flyer) and he was running it for me on the floor in front of our Christmas tree. The other is sitting on the porch of that house when a steam locomotive went charging by, the tracks literally on the other side of the one-lane street. My two earliest memories, both surrounding trains. This time of year brings back memories of happy and not-so-happy times. But it takes Christ's coming to give us hope and joy in the midst.
Happy Advent to all those who took part in singing in the Choir, Amazing Practice my Grandfather Percy Samuel used to like this ( BASS) May your soul rest in peace, He used to drown the whole Church at Church of South INDIA HOLY CROSS with his Lovely voice, Miss you papa I'm just choked listening to the way you guys are singing God bless One and all,
We all need thrilling sounds at this time, it lifts the mood so much, remembering happier times and looking forward to safer days ahead! Thanks Richard!

Thank you for the sacred, Holy Hymns! You have beautiful voices! 😊❤️✝️🙏🎼 I appreciate the added lyrics so I can follow along! 😊👍 PS, I think the past hardships since the closures for Covid have turned me and others back to God and has helped us appreciate these healing hymns again! Thank you! May God truly bless you and those who continue to Worship and Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through testimonies! ❤️🕊️✝️🙏
Just listening to these advent hymns makes your heart sing with gladness as another season of Advent comes to a close we can come together in celebrating our Saviors Birth in a few short days
I was raised Catholic, left 40 years ago but now look back fondly at the beauty, reverence and dignity of the church. Not going back but do appreciate the moral upbringing and beauty of the church. Now people attend with bed hair in their pajamas!
You could look into apologetics as well as counter-apologetics then pick a side of the two views, why did you leave? Because the main thing isn't about how you were treated but if Christianity is true! Christianity isn't the people it's the claims and the doctrine about Jesus. Who he was, what he did. It's not just about fondly admiring a whole religion like it's a piece of artwork because it's not.
Thanks so much organizers of this wonderful choir. Thanks for the lyrics it makes us sing along with the choir. GOD will hear and have mercy on HIS world. Thank you organist am jealous for such a wonderful gift. Shalom.
What church denomination are these songs from? Beautiful and profound words filled with the lyricists revelation of our Jesus. Thank you for sharing! Blessed Advent filled with the holy Presence of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May His healing Power touch and heal your body, soul and spirit...Pray and ask Jesus to forgive you and come live in your heart. He will guide you, give you peace and bring restoration to you. Trust and believe His Word. Read His Word and ask Him to show you His truth and how it applies to every area of your life and those you love. This is not a religion to follow, but a relationship with a living God through Jesus. Spend time in Gods Word and you will see. I followed a Christian religion, but now I have a genuine relationship with Jesus and understand so many of the words of these songs in a very real way. Beautiful lyrics by lyricists who must have had a close, intimate relationship with our Living Lord Jesus. Thank you again for sharing...
A glorious and very wide-ranging selection of first class hymn, many familiar to me from the Roman Divine Office, especially that miraculous Saint Ambrose. I hope this fine selection, with text, can be released to the public one day! Bless you!

The words tell you!
Bringing Christ Back in Christmas!!!! Merry Christmas World!!!!
Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful video! I just love Christmas music and message it brings...especially in these uncertain times. May the Lord bless and take care of us all in His good way. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen
Happy Advent to all those who took part in singing in the Choir, Amazing Practice my Grandfather Percy Samuel used to like this ( BASS)
May your soul rest in peace, He used to drown the whole Church at Church of South INDIA HOLY CROSS with his Lovely voice, Miss you papa I'm just choked listening to the way you guys are singing God bless One and all,
We all need thrilling sounds at this time, it lifts the mood so much, remembering happier times and looking forward to safer days ahead! Thanks Richard!

THANK YOU for the onscreen lyrics to these majestic carols! We are BLESSED! - Johnny & Becky Long, Hendersonville NC USA
Just listening to these advent hymns makes your heart sing with gladness as another season of Advent comes to a close we can come together in celebrating our Saviors Birth in a few short days
Let these hymns n songs prepare us to receive Jesus. Come lord Jesus come.
This is FANTASTIC! Thank you for all you work and for posting this!
Beautiful soul searching music 🎶
Gracias Señor por venir por nosotros. Oraciones desde Colombia

The theology implicit in these magnificent hymns is profound.
This gorgeous collection is what I’ve been looking for, for a very long time. Thank you. Incredibly beautiful.

Even better with headphones! Year 2 exiled from the Advent / Christmas musical feast.
Excellent to find quality performances with scrolling lyrics which can be used as an aid for choir rehearsals during this pandemic. Thank you.
Most are Anglican.
A glorious and very wide-ranging selection of first class hymn, many familiar to me from the Roman Divine Office, especially that miraculous Saint Ambrose. I hope this fine selection, with text, can be released to the public one day! Bless you!
Without a doubt the finest, most inspiring hymn playing (and singing!) I have ever heard! Absolutely brilliant!
Vivian Crawford- Jamaica: Thank you for sharing.God is glorified.
