Wonderful - but so sad to see the extreme disrespect shown by the congregation by exiting the chapel during the concluding voluntary. And talking loudly! So typical unfortunately.
Gorgeous - such a full sound. A suggeation - adjust the director’s ipad so that its backlight isn’t blue! It sticks out in the warm glow of the candles.
I think that's just a reading light for a paper score - they tend to have a fairly high colour temperature, similar to daylight, rather than candlelight. There may be a practical reason for this - I certainly tend to find them a lot easier to read by than yellower light.
Really felt I was 'at' this service with the music so beautifully performed. Presentation and recording excellent. Sorry but the readings from the three young women were pretty pedestrian and they seemed to stumble from word to word without responding to what was actually written.
Beautiful in every aspect, in addition to the magnificent choral singing, with so many live candles, but the strange blue lights of music stand and readers book lights really are jarring.

Lovely, Merry Christmas from Sweden, to come...
goose pimples-fantastic !!!!! 🥰😍😇😇
I live in America, but was in England for a solo tour during this service - alas, I was in the Lakes District at the time, but I'm now really regretting not switching my whole schedule around to make it to this service! Sublime perfection, as always. Thank you!
And to every one of the (currently) 17 people who thumbs-downed this video: explain yourselves! :|
This service is just magnificent! I don't understand how such a land can have the scriptures, plus such a rich Church history and culture, music, etc., and still have so many agnostics and atheists running around nowadays. Makes no sense.
Because it's perfectly possible to appreciate religious music and architecture without adhering to its doctrines?
this is for the glory of God, and the Son of man, who redeemed us at the cross
A truly wonderful choir with an excellent Director of Music.
God bless you for encouraging prayer ... wonderful
Outstanding and so beautiful done entirely by candle light. I love being able to follow along with the order of service provided.
From the U.S. on Chrismas Eve day preparing for tonight, thank you.
What a glorious celebration! 🌟
Gratefulness from a senior citizen in SA.
Beautiful event, glorious singing!
Stunningly Wonderful
Beautifully done! tremendous sense of ensemble
Beautiful service. I am delighted to se that this chapel choir has female choristers, and they sang as well as boys.
@Richard E. Miranda Jr. Hopefully
@@bornforbanningA beautiful voice should be valued for itself alone, regardless of gender.
Outstanding 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Beautifully done!
Man, AMAZING!! Beautiful! Thank you.
What a mat for our Lord to come on! ☦️
Just beautiful. Many thanks and God bless!
Many blessings!
A foretaste of heaven
Great organ voluntary at the end.
Thanks for the upload.
Pity that the congregation has to try and outshout Bach!
@@andedrollin Yes, it's sad that so much talent has to be squandered as 'background music.'
This would certainly give the other “two famous colleges” a good run for their money!!
Since Marlow's day, Trinity has a habit of beating those 'two famous colleges' into a cocked hat.
Magnificent!
Well, the service is off to a great start with gentle coughing accompanied by diapasons.
Someone once said, "People with colds don't go to the doctor,
they go to the theatre!" ( I esp. enjoy hearing a fussy baby) 🥵
Sublime! 👏👏👏🌟❤️🙏
Beautiful!
Oh to be in England.
What a wonderful instrument, who was the builder, and those strings…….Oh My Goodness
The Swiss firm Metzler.
Great performance, and the organist even looks like John Lennon.
Magnificent🎵
MARY H. SCROGGINS- Burgess is my mother and in Sinai Hospital dying she loved a very eventful life and love the Lord Jesus with her whole heart, She served the not just in word; but indeed. How are we meant to enjoy this with so many ads?
Lovely.
Outstanding--but why does the congregation talk while the ineffable postlude played so brilliantly?
Those that are continuously coughing - whether with covid-19 virus or not - kindly avoid attending public functions and stay back at home...!!!😂😘👍❤️🙏🎸😎🌲
Phwaor, clare sounds good this year
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? What language is it?
Great service! The youtube ads are incredibly disruptive though.
Advert before first reading !
Is it possible to get a list of the carols?
Who was the Conductor and who was playing the Organ?
Wonderful - but so sad to see the extreme disrespect shown by the congregation by exiting the chapel during the concluding voluntary. And talking loudly! So typical unfortunately.
Wonderful service. Was there a service for this year, meaning 2020? God's blessings be with you all
you would have to wait until Christmas eve - it does not happen until then anyway. For me, the official start of Christmas.
Where is this taking place? Is this Trinity College in Northern Illinois. Wheaton or Deerfield?
M. Elgin. Illinois
Cambridge, England
Can you please add the timestamps as chapters in the video?
did it change that they have girls/women in there now or is this a different choir? just curious.
Really felt I was 'at' this service with the music so beautifully performed. Presentation and recording excellent. Sorry but the readings from the three young women were pretty pedestrian and they seemed to stumble from word to word without responding to what was actually written.

Jan2021 Holy Day
Anglican?
Indeed
Beautiful in every aspect, in addition to the magnificent choral singing, with so many live candles, but the strange blue lights of music stand and readers book lights really are jarring.
I don't think they do this primarily for You Tube. The lighting looks fine in the chapel itself.
SHUT that darn door!!! Ruins the atmosphere! Why aren't the organists robed? Great music! Forgive the complaints!
Why did you think they were necessary?
@@corrinesherman3691 Because these are aesthetic issues not in keeping with Anglican tradition or the mood they are trying to create with the candlelight. Is that not obvious to you?
It's a trinity thing for the organists to wear robes on weekdays but suits on Sundays
Almost unbearably moving to watch near Christmas 2020. We have given up so much, our religion, our arts, our community. Anyone with any knowledge of history is extremely concerned.
