What i appreciate if that you don't create a video (like some) to show us your superiority, you own your mistakes - concrete cracked....yep, it happens and this is how you fix it.
Some people on UA-cam make videos only to discourage us from trying "better leave it to the pros...". You inspire us to try. Thank you.

i agree, im in the UK, while the comments on "code" etc in these vids isnt too relevant, its the rectification of mistakes and the reality of what you might encounter that actually makes life easier... bathroom renovation i am about to undertake.. i have a much better idea of what i might encounter and how to plan it out because of videos like this (and the honesty in them!)!

I've only been watching this channel for a couple of weeks but I absolutely love how Jeff will leave in mistakes in the videos (ie- not having power run to one of the tools, the table cracking and why, etc...). Watched another video where he knew the water was off but a lot was still coming through the line for a toilet. It actually gives me encouragement. We make mistakes and can learn from them; even pros. He understands most viewers are not pros and he'll speak to the audience accordingly; not speaking down but in a helpful, genuine manner and not editing to make himself appear to be perfect. Keep up the fantastic work!

Great Idea! I live in the Midwest so I deal with the heat and cold issues. I JUST remodeled my kitchen floor to ceiling. I used modular cabinets and pour in place concrete counter tops. Since this video is a little older you may know this now. I researched till I was sick, but my tops, to use your Phrase are "sexy as hell"! Anyway I used a sand top mix with Silica Sand in it. The form kit came with fiberglass mesh and plastic spacers to keep it right in the center of the pour. I also used fiberglass flakes in the mix with charcoal dye and a bonding agent. They came out incredible. Before I sealed them I mixed more dye with water and kind of went random with rags and the dye to distress it more. I used the cup and started with 50 grit diamond disks up to 1000! After sealing and putting the gloss on them It is so slick you have to set anything glass straight down without giving it a little slide or it will slide off the top! One other tip/question. You paid a a premium for those blocks. I am a retired mason and you could have saved a ton using haydite blocks. you could have laid them dry and slugged the blocks full with concrete and maybe used some rebar every so often. Even lumber with backer board would have done it I think. If you ever lay block dry like that just use your level and level, plumb, straight edge and works great. Now that I'm done with my kitchen I could picture myself on the patio that table with good company and drinks! Don't you guys have free healthcare up there? No knife worries! lol

I think more saw horses would have helped prevent the cracking. It looks like you had a bit of a bow in the 4x8 panel forming from the weight of the concrete. Flipping it over with the weight on the edges caused a tensile fracture.

Coke > Pepsi, no contest. Any chance that mold was sagging under the weight of the concrete and you just needed another sawhorse in the middle? Maybe it was the camera angle, but it looked like that might have contributed to beast splitting in the center.
Also, editing and video quality was excellent on this one!

This was fun to watch! Something I wish you’d do ... devise some way to seal the jets on a jetted bathtub that’s 1) fairly simple for laypeople, and 2) looks somewhat nice and do a video on it. There are so many of us dealing with that issue, and there are a couple of videos and tutorials that have been done over the years by folks who’ve cobbled something rudimentary together out of desperation, but they’re either kind of janky or not very easy to follow. I think YOU could come up with a better way (that looks nice) and explain how to do it in a way us ordinary folks can follow and understand. I really don’t understand why no company makes caps to seal jets. There’s definitely a market for that.

I'm definitely a noob, but if I wanted to make a fire table that was moveable, would it make sense making a table frame using metal studs (instead of lumber - because fire), then using cement board, then adding stone tiles? The countertop could be anything I suppose - I really like the looks of the cement top.

Cool. I would also try casting a bathroom radiant floor heating mat into the concrete countertop to keep the entire surface warm. Better yet would be to build a bench with back with radiant heat for people's bodies.

The only bummer about some of the videos is that it's not from the ground up. I'd watch the entire process. Keep up the phenomenal work bud. It's always a pleasure to watch the craft
