Having Super Meat Boy be your baseline for all 2D games and being so excited that you don't instantly die whenever you touch anything is wild. It's like learning to pilot a fighter jet before you've ever driven a car.
Honestly, I feel like its weird, because he clearly has played Video Games that feature an HP System before, so why does he feel like it's anything special. I guess it means that he views 2D Video games as generally very "close together". I think that is a bad thing personally, so I hope he'll learn.
@@AboutOliver Without spoiling anything, Team Cherry basically anticipated any "hacky" gameplay in their design, so don't worry too much about it. Worst case you get to somewhere that's too dangerous and die :p

Pogo for the Grub on your first play-through alone worth a like, man. It's simple idea, but actually getting it so early is pretty nice. And this reaction? I felt it.
I know I'm months late and everyone has said this already, but that mid-air pogo off the fly to get the grub at 42:00 was beautiful to watch. Between deducing the Rule of Quantum Imaging in Outer Wilds, and figuring out a Pogo Skip entirely on your own here, your content is truly unique Oliver, and it's such a fucking treat to see someone casually deduce things that most of us never even noticed on our own and had to be told.
Just like in Subnautica, your way to theorize the events ocurred in this game's world is pretty good considering the little amount of information at this early stage of gameplay. And that Boss at the end killed me several times before I figured out his attack pattern.
Bapanada. Wow, and here I was thinking that BearTaffy, Materwelonz, Living Sun and Zeawen playing through this was top notch and entertaining, but you are just so perceptive and apparently immersed in the world... even having a notepad out. What a journey!
Based on the attention to detail you have given to other games, you're gonna excel at this one and probably love it. I especially think you'll be very charmed by its story, based on the other games you've enjoyed. 💜

HK's map confuses so many people it makes me laugh. It's definitely different from pretty much every metroidvania map that fills itself out from the first cell.
in my experience there's a strangely big overlap between fans of Outer Wilds, Hollow Knight and Rain World - not sure why, given the 3 are fairly different experiences. but, at least from what I've seen, if he enjoys HK he might be up for Rain World! I hope so, since it's criminally underrepresented in terms of yt playthroughs
