Before the signal go wireless, it has to be encoded and then decoded on the other side. It used to have a noticeable latency, but AD/DA processors got faster, so it's probably not a deal now.
The difference in latency between wireless and wired should be next to completely and entirely negligible, if not unnoticeable, to the human ear, assuming you're standing close to your amp, because of how slow sound is to begin with. It takes roughly 18 milliseconds for sound to travel 20 ft, which is much higher than the latency of the wireless. (and most people don't stand much more than a couple feet from their speakers/amp anyways.) If you feel you don't notice a large sound delay using a 20 ft cable at max length, then you definitely will not notice much of anything while using wireless unless you trick yourself into believing you do.
well, since it's based on 2,4GHz WiFi, there is plenty bandwith for lossless sound transmission. Now it's just a matter of how good the receivers' DAC is. It's a 32bit DAC (as if that would say something about it's quality), but it must be pretty small, so who knows...
In a studio or my room I would go for cable. On a small stage still cable but once the stage is bigger then definitely wireless. We have alot of services that are in the 2.4ghz bandwidth. Some interference will be expected.
If you're willing to spend the extra money on a really good wireless system I definitely do agree. Those tiny differences for sure won't cut through the mix. But for recording you already have to spend some money on cables and if you get good ones, then I don't see a reason to not use them live. If you use your pedalboard frequently then there is no need for getting a wireless system aswell, since you're pretty localized at one spot anyway. But for sure there are good reasons for people to use a wireless system, but I'd stay away from anything that uses frequencies that might overlap with other systems, like this one. Maybe pure paranoia, but anyway. But my biggest complaint about this video is anyway: I actually thought the wireless riff sounded better, but I also feel like he used a pretty shitty cable.
