So I have 11 cameras around my house because my property sits way off the road. larger house. I use an Orbi mesh system with three access points that the cameras connect to. I never have any dropouts and the video never freezes. Can I continue to use my current Orbi system to get Wifi to the cameras, and still have the ability to store locally?
The camera do that....at least in single-digit temps in the shady areas. I had many in the sun that were not affected. Actually there was only one that I had to top off with USB charging and it resumed standard solar trickle charge afterwards.
Hello! We bought 4 ring spotlight pro battery cameras. We have AT&T wireless and need more Wi-Fi coverage. Will this work or what would you recommend? Thank you in advance.
hi, so you go from modem to ring then to eero main that was your old main router hub? i have th eeero 3 pack and just go tmy ring, not sure what order... thank you! i love my eero and its app so much! and tips? great video...
My Xfinity cable modem plugs directly into the Ring Alarm Pro. I also have a cheap 1GB switch. I have my hard-wired eeros plugged into the switch and then the switch plus into the other ethernet port on the Ring Alarm Pro. By doing it that way, my eeros’ wireless doesn’t have to penetrate the basement floor, since they are hard-wired. Eero makes and amazing wireless network and meshed with Ring, it’s an excellent and affordable home security system! Thanks for your viewership and please be sure to subscribe and check out all of my Ring videos!
That seems to be the case and is kind of silly. However, call your home insurance provider and ask if there is “a discount for monitored alarm service.” If so, that discount could potentially counteract the annual Ring subscription fee :)
Any issues with the motion sensors? We're testing Simplisafe and getting mixed results with theirs, so looking for alternatives. Plus we already have an Eero mesh system so this seems perfect.
The Ring motion sensors work great! I've had no issues and you can even adjust the sensitivity. A rat in the basement triggered a motion sensor and my Ring camera caught it on video. Until I was able to catch the rat, I changed the sensitivity of the motion sensor and and didn't go off when it ran by again. In a normal use case, that would be a sensitivity adjustment for pets. Since I caught the rat, I increased the Ring motion sensor's sensitivity again. Ring is a great system and I highly recommend it!
@Ron Hunter initially you had to use it as your main but they've since pushed an update where you can use it as an extender. Which is great b/c I have a 6 pro system so wanted to keep that as the main.
@@theuncreatedlight4717 …. I’m not up to date on tech so sorry if this question sound repetitive. Your Eero system has 2 mesh routers and you can use either one to connect to your modem correct? So you have 1 Eero connected to your modem, the other in another room and your Ring base in another ? So my Eero system has the 3 mesh routers. Either of the 3 can be used for my main router connection to my model downstairs. They others I have 1 at the top of the steps and the other down the hall to the bedroom at the end of the house. So I thought if I got this Ring Alarm System I would use the Ring Eero base as my main connection to my modem and use my current 3 as the extenders. My understanding was that the Ring Eero Base had to be connected to the modem. Can I do it this way or do I benefit setting it up another way ? Does this make sense what I’m saying or am I describing something this wrong.

I’m pretty sure that local storage requires Ring Alarm Pro for Ring Edge.
My battery life for my Ring Cam went out quickly too during winter. Good to know.

I just wire all my cameras now!

It’s what I used and I link it all within this video’s description.

So I can’t use local storage if I didn’t subscribe to a plan is that correct?

I also have the 3 Eero Mesh WiFi 6. So do you use this ring as the main and use your Eeros as the extenders? Thanks for the input.

@Ron Hunter from what I understand, it does not need to be connected to the modem any longer but can function as an extender in your existing set up.
Just some constructive criticism: you just showed us 18+ minutes of your table
Yes I did and that’s because of what is sitting on the table :)
