I grew up with Chris Barber right from the beginning, always a clean sound and one of my favorites, bless all these older musicians for giving us so much pleasure over many, many years. Sadly Monty no longer with us. These guys run rings around much of what we hear today.😆

How good hearing this after 60 years again. Chris Barber still has a good voice.

Thank youChris and may your sound still enjoy us for a long time....all the best an good health. Peter from Zurich

Imagine Bert Brandsma playing his solo on his trusty bass saxophone...

Don´t forget in the list of famous and important recordings of this song the following two recordings:
1954 Chris Barber´s Jazzband featuring Lonnie Donegan (banjo/vocals)
1974 Chris Barber´s Jazzband featuring Alex Bradford (piano/vocals)

I had the one with Lonnie singing, on a 78,the first time I heard this song. Love him or hate him, the man could sing. Sadly I had a fire and lost most of my original collection, still grieving after 34 years.
I'll just mention Hank and the Drifting Cowboys singing this on their radio show. You can no doubt find it on UA-cam somewhere.

This song is not be sung and played this way, it's disrespectful to the memory of Tommy Dorsey and what inspired him to write the song in the first place....shame on you for trivializing and debasing this wonderful song...only an nonbeliever would do that..how sad. He would definitely be appalled by this.

Jacqie Miles Don't Judge otherwise you will be judged by God Himself.

Jacqie Miles What did King David do dancing almost naked before God and what did his wife said to David. And what blessing she had afterwards..... We as people can never Judge other people. God is the only Judge.
