One BIG key point I liked is "working around the running". The naps, eating is just as important as the running. A full package complete channel I love it!!
Best running channel on UA-cam. Perfect combination of the warts and all behind-the-scenes elements, with the detailed and inspirational session filming. You guys have got it nailed. Good luck for Houston!
You’re such a light Phily! Thank you for sharing your life- it’s incredibly inspiring to see you fight hard for your dreams. Also, completely secondary to the amazing running and person you are…. I found your videos recently and then went back and watched old ones. It’s stunning how much your short hair suits you!! Thanks for being you!
Getting out is definitely harder for me these days, my son is only 3 weeks and still only sleeps maybe 4 hours at a time. Learn to love the grind and it all gets a bit easier, still managing 4 runs a week
Been here, mate. All I would say is, it'll be a hard 6 months/year. Cut yourself some slack and just tick over. It doesn't last forever. I regret not just chilling out with it a bit
That’s another full time job right there! I definitely wouldn’t the able to hack the amount of running I do with a 3 week old human to look after too! I’ve heard it gets easier// you get more superhuman!
Went for a quick run after getting motivated by ur vid! First one in a while so it was a bit rough but felt good to get out there. Thank you and you're rocking the marathon training!
Love the training vids Phily! Good luck in Houston. I'll be running it as well for my first full, albeit at a much slower pace. Let's pray for some good weather 🙏
it will all be worth it when you reach the start line of the houston marathon. keep your head down everyday until then and on race day you will KNOW mentally and physically you are ready to go to work ❤
Question; when you double, as in this post, do you always do the harder session first? In the middle of a hard training period I used to find it helpful to do an easy run in the morning and the hard session in the late afternoon or early evening. The morning run was almost part of the warmup for the harder run later on. (Also, most runners back in the day worked full time or had educational demands so the evening was the only time we could put in a serious session.)
These days yes, because I do my workouts in the morning. One year ago, no, as I did my hard workouts in the evening after work in the week, so I would do my 4-5 mile easy run in the morning before work - worked the same for me!
"I dont speak french do you speak english" is one of the few phases I remember from grade school french classes, I always feel like a bad Canadian for that
It can help a lot to have a sports watch and check your pace every 100-200m until you get familiar with how the pace feels. That's what I did in the beginning
Honestly, it’s years of practise and running on the track every single week for most of that time! I didn’t get a running watch till I was 19. The 5 years of running before that was all learning what difference paces/splits FEEL like, and without blowing my own trumpet I’ve got a good inbuilt metronome for knowing paces these days!
Laughing watching you trying to find something to watch on UA-cam… Mostly because you are one of the channels I watch when I’m running on the treadmill. Lol
Great video, little advice please im wanting a new watch and stuck which to go for garmin or coros which would you suggest looking to do my first marathon nxt year so if one is better than the other for the distance? Thanks in advance 🙂
I think Philly uses a Coros pace 3. As a Coros user my self I love my pace 2 combined with the arm heart rate monitor (which I noticed on Phillys arm also) it's ace and super good value compared to a comparable Garmin.
Ever thought about getting a blood glucose monitor? Some of the food you eat, I think might spike your blood sugar. I see lots of pro’s (runners, triathletes & cyclists) monitor this to improve performance. Im subscribed BTW, so Im in the good 50%. ☺️

I enjoyed hearing you talk through the plan beforehand!

Ah I love this so much!!!

Let’s go!!!!
I like the dreadmill, it's like my comfort blanket, having had abuse shouted at me when I started running it's now like a safe space
I know what you mean sadly :/
Can you film a video on what is needed to get into the olympic team?
it will all be worth it when you reach the start line of the houston marathon. keep your head down everyday until then and on race day you will KNOW mentally and physically you are ready to go to work ❤
I chose treadmill for speedwork, outdoors for long/recovery runs.
If you watch these videos subscribe it's actually the right thing to do.
Great video as always!!
I cannot wait for Houston!! YEEEE HAWWW!!
Loved this video, great work Phily 🙂

I didn't mind the rain on today's run and the hills were fine. The wind though... inconsiderate of it to be in my face uphill!
Good job. Well done.
Running outside vs. treadmill have their place, so I don’t worry about which is better or worse.
Great video!

@ 18:31 . . . LOL I've tried one of those arc-trainers that Parker Valby uses but I hated it. I guess some people just get use to them.
Well heads up it’s 24 degrees Celsius here in Houston Tx right now lol. Great for us southerners but that might be hot for you.
phily, what is your best running socks?
who doesn't love you!
great video!!!!! hahahah funny good!!!
Love looking fwd to your training videos phily. Which are the best resistance band's to buy.
edit is fire
Great video as usual ps do you ever use the Curve treadmill, the one where you power the belt with your running?
Feed the algorithm 🏃🏼♀️ 🔥 👏🏻
There for a minute at the end I was like… wait… she didn’t really forget, did she?? 😂😅😃
We have issues...lol... I LOVE the treadmill :D
😱
How do you learn to run such consistent paces?? So many repeats within a few seconds of each other!
It can help a lot to have a sports watch and check your pace every 100-200m until you get familiar with how the pace feels. That's what I did in the beginning
@Audifan8595 that's what I've been trying but it's slow going. Maybe I just need to be more patient!

"Better to be safe than sorry!" 😳🤣
What New Balance do you warm up in and do ur easy runs? Have u tried the new 1080s v13?
Most the More V3s, but I recently tried the 1080 v13s and starting to add those into my rotation now too, they’ve very comfy!
It's so crazy to me that nb would make a great bag and then just not sell it?
Hahahahha , the wind!
Hi, what specific Model of Emma you use?
Laughing watching you trying to find something to watch on UA-cam… Mostly because you are one of the channels I watch when I’m running on the treadmill. Lol
Is that a heart rate monitor on your bicep?
Yup! By Coros
Out of curiosity, what’s the difference between your blue and yellow running shoes?
Blue ones are everyday really cushioned for warm ups long miles etc and the yellow ones are race shoes, carbon plate
Great video, little advice please im wanting a new watch and stuck which to go for garmin or coros which would you suggest looking to do my first marathon nxt year so if one is better than the other for the distance? Thanks in advance 🙂

@@BoatCraig thank you big help will look into them 😀
Where does Daniel get his recipe ideas 💡
From his mum!

There is no benefit to running twice a day, only increases risk of injury
Telling the pros how it's done. A whole new level of arrogance unlocked.
Apart from the benefits she described in the video and the large number of other elite runners doing the same thing...
you has unlocked new way to gain subscribers - technogym treadmills
