    You'll be amazed how much better it is combining with that head compared to your old one we made the exact same transition a few years ago and I couldn't believe how much better the beans flowed in and how it flexes over rocks

      They'll be blown away just by the larger machine in general. Any average crop they might have trouble keeping the combine running.

    I had a modified 930R for a few years with the hoses running on top as that one is and it really didn't cause to much trouble for me at all. Like you said it would fill up with chaff and you just blow it off every now and then whenever you blow the machine off and its fine, but I never had any problems whatsoever with my single point modification on that head, and I covered a lot of acres with it.

    I don't think any reasonable person would question your choices that arrived today. The header cart: Total win, dollar bet says you'll love it. The header: A really good deal. The fact that it's not a draper isn't an issue. Draper reality check is this "Forty thousand more", it really doesn't roll off the tongue - more like makes you urp up a bit. The baler: Travis, in the yard, lists off verbally an entire checklist that will get that into the field with his hardest decision being which machine to equip for it. Sweet all around!

    I like how your doing the budget buy. Then it works out better for you financially. It is easier just to replace some minor parts than going g and buying new. SMART FARMING PAYS OFF.

    Demo'd a 569 then bought one when they were released there's a chain on each side to lock out the kicker. If the chains are in good shape use a good teflon based chain lube.

    We added a 930 when we bought a 9650 walker machine 5 yrs ago. It been an awesome pair for beans. That single pt is great, unhooked and on trailer in under 30 seconds and roaded combine home 2 miles just before a giant rainstorm (3 inches in 1 hr!)

    Look into dry chain lubes. Wax or Teflon based. Wet chains plus dust equals grit on the chains.

    You will love the AWS head cart for everything except backing into a shed. It can be done but not real easy. I like the idea of starting with a whole new cutterbar, hoping that you mean that you are going to replace all the guards as well. I find most people let their guards get way too dull and they are half of the cutter. The moving knife is only the other half. Do yourself a favor and get some O-ring kits on hand for the single point connector. Deere or Lankota should have repair kits for that. Make sure your 9770 feeder house front plate is set correctly so that you aren't digging in the cutterbar or running it too high.

  • @keiterfarms5470
    @keiterfarms5470 2 роки тому +2

    I have to ask how many bales you run through your baler before you change them out for new ones? Chains normally last quite a long time as long as they are lubricated properly and routinely. Only thing is when you start replacing chains, putting new expensive chains on worn out sprockets will actually do more harm than good. Normally if the chain is junk the sprockets will also be junk.

    With beans are you better off not following the planter. Seems dozens of farmtubers have indicated with a draper your better off not to. Can see how the material handling changes. 35 ft would have allowed flexibility for your section use as well going across the field.
    The comments for not purchasing a chopping corn head last fall could also be questioned. Have the combine HP, use it. Saving time, fuel by not having to run across the field again or purchase/maintain a tractor/bushog mower. Better for tires. Reduce field compaction.
    Sure you might have to slow the combine ground speed down a little possibly but far better approach in your limited manpower/ hour operation. Farmers will need to analyze their real costs, including fuel with diesel cost doubled. Are you saving fuel with a 35ft bean head vs 30ft... how about a tuned tractor or combine to reduce fuel consumption and/or increase HP.
