We run a 567 with just twine tie. Very impressed with the Kuhn. Pray you guy's have a safe harvest. We lost a neighbor in a PTO accident on a grain cart a couple of days ago. So please be safe and aware, A split second changed a families life for ever.
Love the new baler Yes I think the big tractor is Overkill. We bale with a 60 horsepower with no troubles. It never struggles at all It probably Burns 1/3 of the fuel you did. Great video thanks
Baler knives definitely helps waste less in cattle feeders but also great help if using tmr mixer wagon as hay already cut up. Saves huge amount of time mixing and easier on mixer wagon.
We put tape over the switches when we get novice operators in our equipment until they get some seat time. Like taping up the remote for grandma so she doesn't push the wrong button, lol.
The new Kuhn baler sure does a great job and makes even bales you could tell by the way the one bale rolled down the hill. You made a great demo for the Kuhn company as well. I am sure they will be happy with it.
I was reading that the best way to put up hay is chopped up and put in a silo slightly wet. It is shorter, easier to chew and if slightly wet it starts the fermentation process. But that is a bit of an expense to do silage. Right after I got out of the military,I worked a few months for a farmer. Had to go to Wyoming to dusk some ground and they were cubing the hay. Little cubes about the size of ice cubes, maybe bigger. It must not have caught on because I have never seen it since. But were a cow reaches what they eat,I don't know if the product length would be important.
Great videography and use of the drone. Kuhn should love you. I have said it before, you have a gift for this stuff. Be safe and thank you for your work both behind the camera and for your work as a farmer.
Really like the side by side comparison. Provides a opportunity to see the differences and makes it easier when you are trying to make decisions on the right equipment for your operation. Nice job
Loved the video Ryan looks like you saved alot of time when you put net wrap on and when you kicked the bale out. All you need now is one of trailers that pickup bales 14 at a time and take them to the yard or by the road and unload them in a flash and go out and get another 14 bales. Then one man could do everything by himself or you could have 2 balers and 1 person picking up bales. Just hope you can get everything baled and then start harvest Be safe !
As always beautiful scenery down at the valley! We finished our hay a week and a half ago! You will never want to bale without duals again because they make the ride so much smoother.
Ryan .. for future reference.. . A good problem solver to your grabbing the wrong handle Is to temporally Put something over the handle ( rubber bands, string, tape , etc.) and then you will know you grabbed the right one without even looking as you can tell by the feel of what you have over it

I’m really liking the cycle speed of the gate. 3x or more faster than my Deere silage special. Kuhn is making some great equipment. Just bought a new speed rake from them.
Travis is really starting to wish for a second 7600 along with that mower and baler isn't he. The amount of time savings you two co-oping together has got to be a god send.
The year was 1864 thank you Jo for starting a great business building machinery and a thank you to all the people behind kuhn now. Great video there by the way. Hope they know how much extra sales they might get 😉.
It's great to see Travis get a great harvest from the bottom land. He is due a break. I hope the excess tonnage along with premium prices double his last yers loss with profit. Kuhn will be on back order soon These hands on videos are amazing . Not tossing 50# idiot blocks is a great bonus. Not quite as bad as cleaning barns or silos.
I must say, that baler looks like an amazing machine to run; the ramp seems like a better option than the conventional kicker and the fast gate open/close is amazing. Only thing I’m not too sure about is how complex the routing of that netwrap is. I feel that personally, in the heat of racing the rain I could quite easily get confused and end up taking way longer than it should. Don’t know if I could justify upgrading from my JD 568 for the higher cost. That being said, Kuhn is great. If the quality of this baler is anything like our Kuhn rotary rake, should be an amazing machine for whomever ends up owning it

I like chopped bales for use in a mixer wagon. I prefer them to not be chopped when feeding, however. You cannot unroll them, and you get a big mess as soon as you cut the net off. Just comparing it to the Vermeer 604 Pro that I run, the Vermeer has the pickup, knives, and throat hydraulics combined through the monitor, using one SCV. The netwrap is much harder to deal with on the Vermeer, the Kuhn seems way easier to grease, and the dump cycle time is way quicker. I'm not sure that I would want a 5 foot silage bale. Our 4x4 chopped wet silage (sudan and alfalfa) bales are about 2000lbs. A 5x4 or 5x5 would likely be too heavy for most farmers to handle. I don't know if you mentioned the the bale throat can be opened on the Kuhn, on the Vermeer you can clear a plug without leaving the seat.
