The opening riff is one of the best things the band made, top!
Bleach = best album. Swap Meet = best track on Bleach.
It's a strong tie between Swap Meet and Scoff. I'd give the edge to Swap Meet though.
Dave Haro I'd say In Utero is their best effort.

Well In Utero had more songs that Kurt made when he became more experienced with composition, though it didn't had too much work on it, but it's great after all too.

I bought this album in late 89 based solely on the cover pic. It took awhile to get into it the whole thing, but the first time I heard Blew I was hooked. It's a Rock masterpiece.

the riff in this song is so weird, throughout the whole song they're still playing the same riff they play at the beginning, but something about the dissonance and joining in of the drums and vocals causes it to sound like a completely different riff.

Kurt wanted most people not to like his music and only wanted the "real" people to be his fans. He didn't like seeing jocks and the type of people who beat him up in school in the crowds. He was part of an idie scene where they specifically tried to distance themselves from those types of people. He'd rather most people didn't like Nirvana to be honest.

There are at least two early Nirvana songs that reference a flea market/swap meet situation with seashells, driftwood and burlap being mentioned specifically. Here in swap meet, and again in Mrs Butterworth. Both songs have a very cynical tone to them and seem to be mocking their subjects as boring kinds of old people.
