  • 1997-2001 Honda CR-V Power Steering Leaks. Part 2.
    In this video, I address the power steering fluid leaks that's been bugging me for a while. I flushed the old fluid out and replaced all the seals inside the power steering pump. I also replaced some of the hoses and clamps where visible leaks can be seen. I made 2 parts to this video. Part 1 is about power steering fluid flush and pump rebuild. Part 2 is about replacing some of the hoses and clamps.
    **Please be responsible and dispose old fluid properly**

    Sometimes when hoses don't want to slide off it's easier to make a cut right at the end of the hose with a utility knife.

      @@h0melyfe792 the one where you replaced all your coolant was a big help yesterday- the coolant hose going from the intake to the thermostat housing got about a 2" split up the side and dumped most of my coolant onto the road in a very short period of time haha

    Great video, really like your style, I used one of your vids before for something on my 2001. Currently dealing with replacing return hoses for my 2007 CRV but no vids for that anywhere, at least that I can find after searching for days. Gonna consult this video if I ever have PS issues on my 2001. Thanks!

      Thanks! I think it’s called Clip, Return Pipe. Honda CRV Part #: 53728-S04-003. I got these from www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-list/1999-honda-cr_v--5dr_lx_4wd-ka_4at/chassis/p_s_pipe.html.

    Awesome video! 🤙
    Do you have a video of the leaking from the driver side inner tie rod area? I like to know to to fix it without having to do a full rack replacement.
    Is there a easy seal replacement or something I can use to stop the fluid leak?
    Thanks Mike.

      Thanks Mike. Is it power steering fluid leak? Hmm not a fan of aftermarket stop leak, usually a temporary fix only then later it starts leaking again. I stopped mine by replacing seals and old rusty screws. Also did a power steering fluid flush with genuine Honda stuff only. Unfortunately I don’t have a video of inner tie rod.

    What is causing the leak on the first hose/clamp you’re changing? Is the rubber hose cracked from the original clamp?

    • @h0melyfe792
      @h0melyfe792  3 роки тому

      No cracks.. just old, it’s very loose on the ends and the clamps are worn out so it’s not sealing it. Some are rusted.
