HE'S INCREDIBLE | FIRST TIME HEARING 'Stone Temple Pilots - Plush' | GENUINE REACTION

- Опубліковано 30 тра 2024
- It has been 2 weeks since I have reacted to a Stone Temple Pilots song. Interstate Love Song was out first one. That song was such a great song that I had to make sure it was added to my playlist straight away. I have been looking forward to diving deeper into STP so today I thought we could go with Plush. Plush and Creep were probably the most requested after Interstate Love Song.
Here is my reaction to hearing Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song - Plush for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

“Dead and bloated”, “Wicked garden”, “Tumble in the rough”, “Big bang baby”, etc…etc.
I love when I see people mention Big Bang Baby! I feel like that song didn’t get the love it deserved! Also, a change up stylistically which showed me their range as musicians!! ❤️❤️
I would also add the Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts track "Modzilla".
"Sour Girl" was softer, but still pretty popular on radio. "Big Bang Baby" is pretty good...
Not my favorite 90's grunge band tho: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam were all way better imo. Even "Seven Year Bitch - The Scratch" from the album ¡Viva Zapata! was better than most STP songs.
I agree with Dead and bloated and Wicked garden, those songs are crazy.
Dead and Bloated is a banger!
‘Dead and Bloated’ gets my vote for the next one from STP ☺️
💯
Core is one of those iconic records from the 90's!!
I personally think it's a top 5 debut album, great all the way through.
It needs to be mentioned among the top grunge albums ever
Couldn’t agree more. It was so different from the other grunge at the time
DEAD AND BLOATED sets it off 💪🏽😎
Core/Ten/Throwing Copper top 3
Another great song by them is "Trippin' on a hole in a paper heart."
Yeah Molly Boy this one is a banger for sure. Live at Rolling Rock version is insane!
@@RichardWilson-be8zp Yes!!
Yeah, the Rolling Rock live video is badass
Yes! My fave STP song. It’s a corker 👍👍👍
You have only scratched the surface! Checkout Crackerman, Dead and Bloated, Sex Type Thing, Sour Girl, Vaseline, Creep, Atlanta!!! STP was bigger than Velvet Revolver even though I like them too!
I'd forgotten about Sour Girl. That might be tied with Dead and Bloated for my favorite STP song
Crackerman is one to check out for sure!!
I forgot Down from No. 4! Banger for sure!
@@KarrasSim yes!!!!
@@REBMeTaL yeah Crackerman doesn't get enough love 💪🏽😎
Thank you, Scott Weiland for blessing us with your voice R.I.P! The 90's was the era with the best best singers, imo!
In every genre of music!
❤
LOL.
Legend!
Lol
Their version of this song at their Unplugged show is INCREDIBLE.
What this guy said
Yes! Better than the original, if that's possible
I saw them in 2018 with new singer Jeff Goode and I was pleasantly surprised by how good they sounded. They did an intimate, restrained version of Plush without percussion and it brought a tear to my eye. I was kinda blown away tbh.
Oh yes, it’s gorgeous!
@@misterscarisma3/4 of that band are incredible musicians so they’re always going to be great. I don’t rate Gutt, but no one will ever touch Weiland for me. I wouldn’t have kept the STP name, but that’s just me. I feel the same about AIC; William is a great singer. But it’s not truly Alice without Layne
Sex Type Thing needs to be next! ❤
Agreed!
@@tiawarren5403first time I heard this song was Grand Turismo though who the fuck is this🤘
💯
Word 🔥🔥🔥
Yessss... and Crackerman has that same vibe 💪🏽😎
“Big Empty” is at the top of my list.
RIP Brandon Lee.
Yes 👍
Yes yes yes 100times
My favourite song of all time!
You absolutely have to listen to Dead and Bloated. You will thank me afterwards, guaranteed.
Pretty much their heaviest song, killer riffs and mind blowing vocals
Possibly my favorite song off that album! So good!
STP were just as elite as them all
DeLeo brothers are heavily underrated, dem riffs, dat bassline
Stone temple pilots were way bigger than velvet revolver. Happy birthday brother.
Might of been bigger but Scott and Slash together was epic!
Supergroups are rarely as iconic as their progenitors.
@@rockyalls4386slash is an overrated asshole
Scott, in his prime, was more than a singer, but also a compelling frontman.
Jamie, his widow, says he was a very intense person. He definitely had a presence you could feel when he was near.
When I seen STP in the early 90s , he never stood still for the entire show. Couldn’t take your eyes off of whatever he was doing
Just imagine what could’ve been if the drugs didn’t get in the way
All the “grunge” bands have a distinctive sound that sets them apart from each other, imo. No two sounded alike. There was no cookie cutter “grunge” sound. I believe that’s why I love it… heavy on the emotion, usually heavy to the ear, but very different. I would recommend “Wicked Garden” by STP. It’s wonderful to see that “grunge” will not be forgotten, great reaction 👏🏻
“The lyrics to this song were inspired by a true story. A girl was kidnapped and then later found tragically murdered back in the early part of the Nineties. So it gave me fuel to write the words to this song. However, this song is not about that, really; it's sort of a metaphor for a lost, obsessive relationship.” Scott Weiland
STP and AIC are neck and neck for my fav 90's band.
Haha me too but I would pretty obviously add Soundgarden to that list.
Yeah two of my favorite as well, with nirvana coming in third.
You have to check out STP “Dead and Bloated”. Incredible
MARK LANEGAN of THE SCREAMING TREES is another vocalist of this era really worth checking out-they were a little earlier than PEARL JAM/SOUNDGARDEN/ALICE IN CHAINS and never really rose to the same kind of popularity but def helped pave the grunge path
You wanna talk about paving a grunge path? Mudhoney.
@@jenh9221 love me some MUDHONEY touch me im sick should be on every playlist ever
let's just have him review the entire Singles soundtrack.
@@justinmillikan2258 JUDGEMENT NIGHT soundtrack
Mark definitely had a deep richness to his voice that made him unique. After listening to his autobiography, I think he very much stood in his own way…..stifling their potential of higher success.
That entire album is FIRE, mate!! Listen to "Dead and Bloated" and be prepared to lose your fkn mind!!! LETS GO!!!!!
This entire album is great!
YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!
This is probably their most well known grungier song, from their heaviest album. And Scott looked so healthy during this time
Excited for you to hear what else these fellas can do
Scott could sing anything. Any style. You’ll see.
Never a truer word
I swear at times he sounds like Cobain other times like Vedder. And at times himself.
@@joeyschwartz5150 I’ve always thought the album cover for Alice In Chains Facelift looked like Scott. Look and see if you think so.
@@joeyschwartz5150I’ve never understood when people say he sounds like Eddie or anyone else. They’re my two favourite grunge singers and I don’t think they sound at all alike
@mariannetuite7411 the first time I heard Plush (back in the 90's) I thought it was Pearl Jam. And there is an acoustic song on side 1 of Core where he sounds like Cobain. These opinions are not as strongly held now with 30 years of hearing those bands and singers. But back when it was fresh...
Happy birthday 🎂 .....I think you'll enjoy their song "dead and bloated"
STP where one of the biggest selling bands in the 90s over 40 million albums sold. They were huge.
This song will always remind me of when I just graduated high school in 1992. The Soviet Union had just fallen and I just became an adult and this song remind me of that feeling.
Isn't it great what music can do. One song can take you right back to a moment in your life and how you felt.
I also graduated in '92.
The 90s were some of the last good years. The before times.
Velvet Revolver. Slither. You will love it
Fall To Pieces is better, but heartbreaking
If you're gonna do VR, you can't go wrong with Slither and Fall to Pieces
Also Wicked Garden and Trippin on a hole, Big Bang Baby, Big Empty. When you do get to Crackerman, do yourself and watch a live performance!! Pearl Jam and STP were my absolute favorites from that era. I loved AIC, Soundgarden and some Nirvana, but Eddie and Scott were in a different league. Scott’s showmanship, vocals and his band are killer and criminally underrated!!!
Could not agree more with this
@@mariannetuite7411 Down and Lounge Fly were bangers too 🔥
Agreed. Down is in my top 5 STP tracks
More STP please 🙏
One of my favs! This rabbit hole will be fun! I believe your core audience agrees!
Scott has one hell of a range in his vocal ability. He was fantastic! RIP Scott
Mom had me on all kinds of music 🎶 always music in the house or taking me to friends garages or concerts, and dives! She told me i was born into Grunge and it was a beautiful time in music. So she made damm sure i heard all of them front to back! Love ya Mama❤
Ps. She'll love this one!! Stp, Soundgarden/Audioslave & Aic were her favs. Bc live they were incredible she said. She'd seen all of the top grunge bands, even pregnant with me❤
~Dead & Bloated 🔥
~ Big Empty
Scott was also a great song writer. You’ll notice that his song titles aren’t mentioned in the lyrics.
I remember where I was when this video originally premiered. It stopped me in my tracks. STP had released Sex Type Thing already but this one made me take notice🤘
Scott like so many others from that time suffered with serious substance abuse issues for decades. He was almost unrecognizable both physically and how he sounded as he tried to reinvent himself with Velvet Revolver and still created some great music in a different way/style with them. His unplugged performance of the above song was incredible also.
“Dead and Bloated”, “Sunday Girl”, “No Memory/Sin”.
STP is the Rodney Dangerfield of the grunge era, "I get no respect." They are the dark horse of the 90's despite Core being one of the best albums I've ever listened to start to finish. You really can't go wrong with any track from Core, Silvergun Superman being a favorite from the second album.
Imagine being 15 when all of this came out. It was a magical time❤ Every word is etched in our brains.
WICKED GARDEN, SEX TYPE THING, DEAD AND BLOATED are great as well. The whole album "CORE" is pretty damn good, obviously. I remember when this came out. I won the CASSETTE and CD from local Rock station at the time. Great reaction. 50k before you know it.
Hell yeah... Crackerman is good too 💪🏽😎
Scott’s amazing like a Chameleon can sing many different ways. I was lucky to see STP when Scott was alive. Look up live concerts he was an awesome frontman as well
Stone Temple is a great grunge band!
Scott is one of my greatest loves in music, For me, voices don’t get much better than this man. He is so deeply missed.
Lots of people call for Creep… I would say you can’t go wrong with a single track from Core it is gold from front to back
I turned 44 last Saturday. Hope you have a cracking birthday weekend
You have the same Birthday as my dad. Happy Belated Birthday!
@@MollyBoyTVahh, cool - and thanks! May babies are the best!
@@MollyBoyTV Yo wats good Molly lad bro, Happy upcoming birthday this Saturday approaching yo.
@@MollyBoyTV Yo Molly Lad bro, do you think this guy's singing voice vocals sound somewhat similar to Pearl Jam...kinda?
@MollyBoyTV Yo Molly Lad bro, since you mentioned Alice in Chains, don't forget to react to Alice in Chains song called Its your Decision (react to official music video)
Very underrated group they are awesome
Stone Temple Pilots - DOWN. Their heaviest song!!!
This has been looped in my head lately! No. 4 was so underrated! Sour Girl, Atlanta, Heaven and Hotrods…
Will you follow me down?
STP; my favorite grunge band. Scott Weiland is my favorite male singer. Devastated when he passed. BTW, I'm a 60 yr old, 1/2 Japanese woman, 5'2" and drive a black Mustang GT, pack a pistol and nobody would believe it. Nothing is better than listening to STP full blast driving down the highway!
"Silvergun Superman" is another STP classic.
I love this song!! 🥰
Dead and bloated is another good one
You can't go wrong with any song on the first two albums
This one was everywhere back in the day. Still sounds fantastic. Pleased to see your appreciation upon first listen.
This song is loosely based on a possible serial killer murder. "And I fear when the dogs begin to smell her, will she stand alone". Scott Weiland had an amazing ability to sing about creepy subjects and make the song sound catchy. In "Sour Girl" he sings about a girl who broke up with him and sings "What would you do if I followed you? The girl's got reasons. They all got reasons" basically being kind of threatening. But the song sounds very cheerful. I think you will enjoy going down this rabbit hole.
I really loved Sour Girl; used to listen to it at max volume while on my way to work in Korea; there was a stretch of road that was always empty very early in the morning and had no speed cams; I'd have that song blasting loud as hell while going over 115mph getting fired up on my way in...
Scotts always been my favorite singer from this era. 🔥 More STP!
STP was huge and definitely held their own. Amazing band. Creep is a good one
The live acoustic version is gold!
Loved STP. When you get into Velvet Revolver I recommend Fall to pieces. This song is sad, it's about Scott and his wife's struggle with addiction.
I recommended slither before I found this comment but hell yes I agree with you also
Another classic banger!!! Can't wait for more STP.
The mtv unplugged session is def worth a watch.
The first two albums we're absolutely fantastic from front to back
The San Diego SOUND!!! "Vasoline" & "Wicked Garden"
CAN WAIT AGAIN TO SEE MOLLYBOY AND CRUE.❤❤❤
Hello Jose you're too sweet. I love ur countdown & positivity ❤
My fav band from the grunge era for sure.
Their album core was a huge part of my high school years! Total nostalgia for me😊
"When the dogs begin to smell her, will she smell alone?" I remember reading Scott W saying in an interview that that line was inspired by a newspaper article he read about the police using cadaver dogs to search for a missing young woman. I got chills after reading that.
I won 5 pairs of tix to their concert from a local radio station and had to put each pair into different friends names. All 5 of us went and I sold the other 5 outside. I had a phone number that always jumped to the front on the radio station switchboard and I won 5 times. Lol. Went to so many free concerts that year.
well in molly, absolute classic that reminds me of better times and better music
This album is probably the best debut album from any band that I've ever heard. Flawless
That descending bass line and steely guitar from the DeLeo Bros… 🤌🏽
AND I FEEEEEL IIIIIIIIIIIIIT, YEAH!
Vaseline is up there, hope you check that one out next.
STP was a massive band, you def should check out their unplugged as well. Scott's voice is really on display with the acoustic vibe
STP is just so good, but I can only feel melancholic whenever I listen to their music any more. Scott Weiland is a true legend and it was so hard to see the addiction steal his sweet soul from this Earth. 💙
The core album is one of the best albums ever made. You need to react to all the songs on the core cd
I was about the same age as you now when this came on, 3 decades later it's still fu...g good, enjoy the ride,RIP another one gone
STP=Army Of Anyone+ Filter's singer! Gun's And Roses=Velvet Revolver+ STP's singer! YES! and YES! F.I.R.E.! awesome reactions as always!😎🤘
“Dead and Bloated” by STP always gives me the chills and I feel it’s the perfect song to listen to when driving at night.
Give a listen to Wicked Garden and Trpping Through A Hole In A Paper Heart. Both are bangers.
This is music as a weapon that killed hair band rock. ... but standing alone, Guns and Roses prevailed, therefore rocking both eras. STP All day!!
Guns in the 90’s was pretty much just Axl by ‘94. Everyone from the best known line up quit of got fired. And at this point in time? Axl’s voice is only marginally stronger than Jon Bon Jovi’s when it comes to singing their hits.
If you want to talk about “hair” bands who maintained popularity and consistency during the golden era of grunge Bon Jovi are it. They released Keep The Faith in ‘92 and These Days in ‘95. To this day they’re still two of their most popular albums. Granted their line up is different now and the music at this point is 💩. But they definitely prevailed through grunge
@@mariannetuite7411 That's a fair analysis. I was never a huge Bon Jovi fan, though they have a few songs that make it to my playlist every time.
If you're looking for 80's hair bands who maintained into the 90's and beyond, I would suggest Savatage. They made popular albums throughout the 90s. And while they never hit the stratospheric heights of more mainstream bands, their side project, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra has withstood the test of time pretty well. Then they had Jon Oliva's Pain, Dr. Butcher, Chris Caffrey's solo work, Zak Steven founded Circle to Circle, and they've done a few reunion shows, including Wacken. Collectively, they're some of the most prolific musicians in Rock from that era.
Dee Snider as well, even after Twisted Sister. The dude's been in everything, lol.
Motley Crue had a few hits in the late 90s, granted after a long hiatus.
Ozzy deserves an honorable mention as well. While he was never really "Hair Metal", he did go through that phase for a while, lol.
Grunge didn't kill Hair Bands. Fucking ClearChannel did. It was the consolidation of independent radio stations in the U.S. Market that forced format changes under the catch-all "Alternative Rock", which also eventually subsumed Grunge, snuffed out the Punk resurgence in it's infancy, and pushed the three least talented Ska acts down everyone's throat until we were all sick of it and happy to see it die off, lol. In hindsight, Napster saved far more bands than it harmed, as that was the only way for their music to survive those dark times.
@@Arkryal I can’t stand Jon Bon Jovi, but for a good 30-odd years I adored their guitarist Richie Sambora.
You’re on the money with all your band mentions. And I’m from Birmingham in the UK so Ozzy and Sabbath always get more than a nod from me. They’re gods in these parts
🤦♂️
STP MTV UNPLUGGED is amazing!
Next you should hear from Stone Temple Pilots WICKED GARDEN. Very cool song, and I think it's exactly your taste. Greetings
most of grunge vocalists are dead except eddie vedder of pearl jam. missed the 90s
Mark Arm isn't dead.
@@patrickmcauley37who?😂
Maynard J Keenan. Billy Corgan. J Mascis. Mark Arm (Mudhoney, biatch).
I was honored to see them live in Australia before he passed away. That was such an amazing show. The crowd singing back to him was priceless.
Oh, the 90s were freaking AMAZING. "Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart" "Crackerman" "Big Empty" "Lady Picture Show" "Down" "Vasoline"
Lit. Very LIT. Saw Scott with Velvet Revolver many moons ago. Fantastic. You can't go wrong with more STP.
Vasoline from 1994. Sour Girl from 1999. Art School Girl 1996.
RIP Scott.
Such a great one!
You must see Scott live. He was a gift.
This was the first song I ever sung in front of people - my first time singing to more than just the mirror, and a few days later the band I joined lol. Was in front of our drummers music class, and the look I got when I walked to the mic vs the look I got when the song finished and I walked away was priceless lol. No one thought I could do it, least of all me.
This song will always hold a very special place in my heart
really good song here! I seem to remember feeling like it got a bit overplayed WAY back in the day...but that was a LONG time ago!!! HERE for it!
Can't wait to see this
That guitar riff will never get old. Now you’ll know it forever😉
He had the best ability to change his sound-live acoustic on Howard Stern and MTV Unplugged and then turn around and rock out on Sex Type Thing and Wicked Garden, PERFECTION!! What a Voice RIP😞
Patiently waiting! 🤘🏼💋
I would pick STP over just about any band other than Pearl Jam. I love Alice, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Screaming Trees, Mother Love Bone. Pretty much all the grunge bands
But Scott…. Man, he was special beyond measure to me
Layne heads and tails better
You’re entitled to your opinion.
Layne was fantastic, no doubt. But for me Scott was the pinnacle. He was more diverse musically than just about any of those guys. And he just had an aura that drew me in.
I love all the big grunge voices, though if you asked me to pick a favourite on any given day, it’s a toss up between Scott and Eddie for me
You at some point really need to watch them perform LIVE. Scott’s stage presence is mesmerizing
Heck, yeah, STP was popular. This song won a Grammy Award in 1994.
I'm in my 60s now, and still I ❤ STP.
I'm so glad to be taking this ride down the grunge/alt rock rabbit hole.
My fave music genre. RIP Scott 💔

Great tune his voice always sounded like a combination of the top grunge singers not complaining
This song was a monster big hit when it came out. Was all over radio and MTV. This song has stood the test of time.
Thank you for doing another STP reaction vid. Being a singer in a STP tribute band, I knew every song inside and out. Loved singing their tunes. The Core Album was their heaviest, but their catalog was so diverse. Give Sin a listen from Core. Was always awesome to sing it. Keep up the great work. Peace!!
I’ve never seen an STP tribute. You must have impressive pipes yourself
This is one of those albums that you can listen to and press replay over and over and over. Great for a road trip
