    I'm tired of these influencers blaming mental health for their bad behaviour. Girl, if you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, like any other disease, you have to threat it. I live with bipolar disorder for years, if you don't treat it, you will behave erratic, but being bipolar is not a excuse to be racist, classicist, etc. If you think you're better than others, you are the problem, not the disorder. That's one of the reasons that we all should talk about mental health and demystify what is fake and what is real, and understand better the struggles that people with real mental disorders have, cause these kind of examples only make things worst for us, the ones that really have to live with limitations and pain, and the loved ones around us that also are affected with it.
    Eitt: I just want to clarify that I'm not saying that she's faking it (In my opinion, she really looked like a person suffering with a maniac episode during her arrest, I'm not a doctor, but as a person that live with this situation for many years, and had many maniac episodes, I don't think that she's that good actress ) It's not easy to accept that you need help, but let's get real, if you think you're better than others, don't blame the disorder, and take accountability for your actions.

    • @Corinne-v9c
      @Corinne-v9c Місяць тому +18

      She may be bipolar...I don't know. But she definitely has a personality disorder or two or three. And when she was arrested? She was *definitely* under the influence of alcohol..& maybe other substances, as well. This is *easy* to see by the contrast of her behavior before the Judge. She had sobered up by then & wasn't acting out. Why is this so hard to see? To me it's like overly obvious..her behavior during arrest (drunk & maybe high on something) & next day before the judge (acting reserved & maybe even a bit contrite...a.k.a., sober).

      As someone with bipolar and adhd, that arrest video was hard to watch. I really like these long form videos about social media influencers, both this channel & Cruel World Happy Mind. The creator of those videos, after making so many focused on family channels, & influencers, she's starting to think that the root of these people's slow public crash, isn't because they are inherently bad or fake, but are instead corrupted by the fame/wealth/etc. It sounds reasonable to me, because I'd already thought that about many men, on social media & off. I often reflect on my first taste of admiration, love & fear as one of the few leaders of our street community in my 20's. But I had also assumed that my active addiction & mental health issues were a major factor in my own fall. But, when we analyze men & women who lead cults, or some politics, or are moguls that rule movie making or music, & they not only act worse, but they end up so corrupted by their own power, they just keep pushing the limits into horrific acts. Among all the things that no one ever teaches us, how to handle this level of wealth, access, power, admiration, etc, & remain happy & healthy, & it just eats away at them.

      10 The priest shall then offer the other as a burnt offering in the prescribed way and make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.
      11 “‘If, however, they cannot afford two doves or two young pigeons, they are to bring as an offering for their sin a tenth of an ephah[a] of the finest flour for a sin offering. They must not put olive oil or incense on it, because it is a sin offering. 12 They are to bring it to the priest, who shall take a handful of it as a memorial[b] portion and burn it on the altar on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. It is a sin offering. 13 In this way the priest will make atonement for them for any of these sins they have committed, and they will be forgiven. The rest of the offering will belong to the priest, as in the case of the grain offering.’”
      The Guilt Offering
      14 The Lord said to Moses: 15 “When anyone is unfaithful to the Lord by sinning unintentionally in regard to any of the Lord’s holy things, they are to bring to the Lord as a penalty a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value in silver, according to the sanctuary shekel.[c] It is a guilt offering. 16 They must make restitution for what they have failed to do in regard to the holy things, pay an additional penalty of a fifth of its value and give it all to the priest. The priest will make atonement for them with the ram as a guilt offering, and they will be forgiven.

    honestly I feel like what the Victoria Secret Guy is saying is that the Victoria Secret Runway show is *actually* marketed to mostly straight men and their fantasies of having a supermodel flirt with them in a revealing outfit...not to any female fantasy of sexual empowerment that Victoria Secret pretends to market to. I mean, if it was marketed to women's empowerment fantasy (the idea that they could be the one on stage being desired) why wouldn't they be ok with seeing diverse women that may be more like them? But if it's a "a super model blew me a kiss and wants me" sexual fantasy (which is mostly, though not exclusively, going to appeal to straight men, some of whom may have underlying transphobia/homophobia and may be made uncomfortable if they became aroused or felt flirted with by a trans woman) the comments make total sense. It would also make sense why Victoria Secret viewership tanked too - people who want "supermodel" fantasy now have so many options to get it - why would they need Victoria's Secret? And women - well, they just got flat out told *who's* fantasy Victoria's Secret revolves around - if you flat out tell women they aren't the audience you really care about they'll go somewhere where they are the target audience.

    • @annegrey3780
      @annegrey3780 Місяць тому

      p.s. i have nothing against women who's job is to cater to typically straight male fantasy (just want to be clear)...we don't look down on men who cater to straight women's fantasies - we don't see THAT as degrading to the man individually or to men in general...the issue is that men have more power live in the delusion that their fantasies are reality than women do (not that some women don't, but men are more enabled to) - they're more enabled to believe that even though they're kinda mid and pushing 50 they DESERVE a super model girlfriend, to believe hot women OWE them their fantasy, to believe that the woman clearly acting to fulfill their fantasy online and clearly working ACTUALLY wants them, to go outside of the boundaries clearly set by women who are just doing a job no different than anyone else who dresses up and plays a role for entertainment...so don't go hating on VS models. The problem isn't the models...if they'd be honest about it and didn't say "we're here to empower women" when they're clearly here to present models as attainable it wouldn't even be a problem of VS doing it, the issue is more about societies ability to say "this was a performance put on by a service...this isn't real...men expecting this to actually be real are like 50 year olds being pissed off and violent that the mall Santa doesn't actually live in the North Pole - your an actual adult you should have figured out this stuff by now...also if your so transphobic that your worried about being turned on by a trans woman...idk...k...kinda sounds like an ish-you."

    The comment about using mental illness as an excuse to be disorderly shows a complete lack of understanding of what a manic episode is. Mania MAKES you disorderly. You can't control it, you think you're untouchable. There's a common phrase people use about manic episodes (and drug use). You end up in jail, hospital or dead and Nikita's behaviour is a very good example of that.

      I agree. Her parents seemed to be really likeable people & supportive of her. However, that being said, I have some lingering questions. From what I've read about narcissism & sociopaths, many of them are raised by parents that do not give them *any* boundaries. Kind of like...anything & everything their child does when raising them is "ok" & even though the behavior is not right or offensive, they never punish them & always put their child on a pedestal & basically reinforce that their child is "special" & "the best" at every & anything they try or do. So...even though the parents seem really nice, I have a big question mark about how Nikita was raised, & if it contributed to her having personality disorders. Her mother seemed to be an especially fierce defender of hers. Maybe it's just me, but some red flags went up when watching her mother get (to me) overly defensive & protective of her.

      @@BoatyMsBoatface I agree with your statement. I said as much in my 1st comment. Let me try to be a bit more specific. For example, when Nikita was a young child (& whenever it was that Nikita decided to reveal how she felt about her gender) maybe that made her parents more protective of Nikita...maybe they thought, wow...we've got to *really* get behind her & support her. And there's absolutely nothing wrong w/being supportive. *But* when the "support" morphs into the mindset of "our child can do no wrong," & the child is constantly praised & led to believe she is "special,"...this is the type of parenting that leads to narcissism/sociopathic tendencies. The parents were just doing what they thought was right. I'm not trying to condemn the parents...I'm just offering a very possible scenario as to how Nikita went off the rails. It seems wholly plausible to me.

We just happen to live in a time where any individual can project their pictures and videos across the entire world for billions to see, whereas over history it was far more localised. The few rich people, usually royalty or nobles of some type would hold parties of decadence with each other. The peasant classes knew they were rich but it is significantly more in our faces now, across a much larger audience. Also whereas we can sit here and shit talk all of these fake bullshit "influencers", the peasant classes of the past could get in actual trouble by speaking out against the wealthy elite.

I think she generally wants love from a relationship, but the online attention/wealth got to her head she literally didn't know how to find it in a normal way and she snapped. Cant imagine what it does to someones mental state when they're so loved as an influencer and get everything thrown at them that when it comes to a relationship they want and when someone finally tells them "no", its like watching a toddler have a meltdown.

    The reason Nikita was put in a men’s jail was because when she was arrested she kept saying “I am a transgender man” then when the cops asked her how she identified she again said “i am a transgender man” and a female cop said you don’t identify as a woman” and she said “I am more woman then you” and then again said “i am a transgender man”. So she was being obnoxious and at a point they had enough and put her in the men’s jail. When she sobered up she tried to play the victim and then asked to be moved. Sorry but the cops don’t have hours to waste going back and forth fourth and because trans activists pushed “self identify” where all a trans person has to do is say they are a trans man or woman regardless of the way they may look or what is on their ID they say you have to respect and go by what they say. I wish we focused more on her Bipolar disorder. I'm BP1 and can confirm - her arrest incident was textbook manic behavior. Bipolar 1 includes psychosis, which is about as severe as mental illness gets. Mania involves extreme grandiosity, instability, recklessness, and complete loss of touch with reality once it becomes psychosis, which it almost always does when untreated. I work in forensic mental health as well - disorders like Bipolar can cause individuals to really destroy their lives when untreated. It DOES often turn you into a monster - I work with people who have committed severe crimes while mentally ill. I wish we took SEVERE mental illness more seriously, because Bipolar Disorder is extremelyyy serious. In my own episode, I didn't commit any crimes but truly screwed my life up, almost beyond repair. I know how serious it gets and it's sad how the general public can't comprehend all of this due to stigma.

Some of them lie as well. We've seen it many times. Bi polar causes you to be rac*t or look down on others? Come on now. And that's the issue. Cause these are the people with the platform to bring that to the forefront and let their supporters see them as "regular" people that have issues too. But no, they dismiss their own problems and pretend it doesn't exist until when they are called out for being messy. Which in turn causes mental health to continue to be looked at as an unserious, "you problem". Hmmm.

      @@alithedon4996 such severe disorders can make someone act in uncharacteristic ways that an outsider might just interpret as being an arrogant piece of shit. Whatever someone says or does in an episode should not be taken as a statement of anything, because they're delusional. Being an actual piece of shit alone doesn't take you into a psychiatrist's office to be diagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder, which just happens to be the most severe form of bipolar disorder and the one with the most serious and destructive episodes of mania and psychosis.
      That being said, the line between an explanation and an excuse can get really blurry. While some people are truly awful and use their illness as a shield against criticism, downright accusing anyone of doing it is another manifestation of the mental health stigma of our society in the sense we forget how badly mental illness can distort reality for those suffering with it, and instead, we judge people as we would a healthy person acting maliciously. What's wrong with acknowledging some people do need to be treated with more lenience?
      P.S: That doesn't mean mentally ill people shouldn't be held accountable for their own actions, or that they can't be bad people. I'm just saying their mental state should be taken into account.

      @@alithedon4996 It's not an excuse - ever - but it is an explanation. "Normal" people don't act like that, nor do they fein insanity whenever they want. You'd argue she did it to avoid jail, but again - "normal" people do not parade around naked in public either. And yes - mania/psychosis CAN make you say/do racist things - a hallmark sign of mania is grandiosity, which is characterized by "feeling superior to others". That's pretty close to racism by mere semantics alone. I speak as someone who is Bipolar 1, and works in a forensic psychiatric hospital. While I did not do anything racist while manic/psychotic, i've seen multiple patients be racist while in my hospital. Of the cases I can remember, 2/3 of the racist patients weren't white. Think about it - if you've lived a life of being treated inferior because of your race, and when you become psychotic, your previous reality melts away and all you're left with is your subconscious mind, all tangled up. That's what psychosis does to you - all you're left with is really basic instincts - fear, power, control, or complete lack of control. Some people think they're Jesus or royalty, while others might think the FBI is after them - aka, some people think they're literally untouchable, while others think they're already guilty. Some people commit awful crimes while psychotic - usually fear based. I say that because the hospital I work in is forensic, and because I deal with people who have committed crimes solely because of their mental illness. Racism isn't always a crime (unless it's hate-speech/harassment), but it's just as ugly and awful as any other crime.

It’s important to recognize that anyone can undergo cosmetic procedures like implants or enhancements using illegal silicone. What we see from her is simply a flamboyant persona, and it can be disheartening to see her proclaiming herself a “bad bitch.” A true bad bitch doesn't need to assert that title; it’s inherently recognized by others. Furthermore, I want to clarify that she has never been the first to achieve anything significant within our community.
