Ningen Isu just released an album about 2 months ago, no idea what it is called since I can't read Japanese - sorry. But I have heard 3 tracks off of it. 2 songs 5-6 minutes, and one opus over 8 minutes. And all 3 are solid rock numbers. I think these three guys have hit their stride, and are writing and playing some great consistent R & R - Japanese style! Check it out!
I hadn't listened to this song in awhile. And forgot just how good of a song it really is. Glad I checked out the video. These 3 guys have a real chemistry together, proving once again with great bands the sum is greater than the parts. Which can only happen in music! The lyrics are evn really cool in this song too. Well thought out.
As a connoisseur of Ningen Isu reaction videos, I have to say well done. My one suggestion would be that it's near criminal to not also look at their song lyrics, as they are generally deep and meaningful. Newer videos have English captions on UA-cam. This song's theme in particular is ironic given it introduced them to a much larger audience when it went viral.
Oh and as a side note, there's a video of the guitarist going through his entire roster of pedals for a guitar magazine, including the ones he built himself, and it's captioned too.
You mentioned in the video that they may have a prog influence somewhere... well they did do a cover of 21st century schizoid man by king crimson and did a cover of Breadfan by Budgie (but with redone japanese lyrics)... Been a fan of this band since the reactions started and i must say that their more proggy stuff is the Lovecraft influenced sci-fi songs like "colour out of space" or "at the mountains of madness" really good stuff, the bass player also takes the lead vocals on a few tracks so keep a look-out for those...
I love the Color of Space, did that one awhile back and I have At the Mountains of Madness and coming soon. Love this band, I'm going to try the two King Crimson covers. Every previous time I have done KC it gets blocked. Thanks for commenting.
No. In Japanese "i" is always pronounced as "ee" as in "teen". So Neen gen (the last syllable begins with hard g, and follows with "en" as in "yen"). Isu is pronounced beginning with "ee" as in "teen", and the "u" at the end is pronounced like the "oo" in "boo" or "boot".
As far as the name goes, both "i" 's in Ningen and Isu are pronounced like in the word "interesting", not like in "ideology". The name translates to "human chair", ningen means human and isu is chair.
@@markdzima I know they always pretty much sound the same (it's why I think google's translation service set to Japanese works pretty well for sounds). I personally think the ee as in teen sounds a bit too long (as in 2 mora instead of 1), but that's the problem with trying to explain it with examples (or things like "ay") is that it all depends on both of your accents and things like that. I was just trying to explain that it wasn't like the i in ideology. So while I agree that my example isn't perfect, I don't think a perfect example in other languages exists (especially English and especially for other vowels like the Japanese "a" sound) . Btw, no need to apologize. I am not a Japanese native speaker (and I'm not a native English speaker either) and my knowledge of Japanese is still relatively basic. I generally do know how words are pronounced in Japanese though, I have been learning the language long enough for that. Explaining it just isn't easy without phonetic spelling (and that's a skill I don't have).

I watched that video, I have to finish it. Cool to see.

Sorry to correct your pronunciation, but Japanese vowels are always pronounced the same way and "i" is always pronounced as "ee" as in "teen".
