Awesome stuff! I think for anamorphic lens grid shooting one should also consider if the lens has mounting rotation error due to bad lens mounting, no? (For anamorphic Lens Rotation parameter in 3DE) Otherwise the squares could be skewed left/right.
And camera position for anamorphic should remain the same when capturing grids at different focus distance for the lens breathing simulation.
Yes, we don't need to move camera if grid is in focus at different focus distance values - it is very handy, that is why we recommend to close aperture to max value.
About anamorphic lens rotation - the industry standard camera and lenses works together very well and it is hard to mount lens badly =)
