Well said! I agree 100%
In Meru from Kenya we say, "Muntu" to mean a person.....If you Identify to this and proud Bantu please thumbs up! And Thank you Dakitari for a wonderful presentation.
Really, me too. muntu means people.
I am Angolan from Kongo Kingdom.
Sound like Zulu and other Nguni tribes, makes sense Nguni people lived in Mozambique before crossing south to now Zululand in South Africa. In my language is motho
I’m Zulu Muntu also means a person and bantu means people abantu also means people in my language we are definitely family then ❤
Muntu=Motho
In Zulu we say "Yithi aBantu". Yes I am Zulu and we and many other tribes are Bantu people of Southern Africa. There are other Bantu people across the continent. Our languages, our customs are beautifully similar here and there and in other areas as well. There's a very strong Zulu presence in Kongo and a strong Kongo presence kwaZulu. Joe Mafela (may his soul rest in peace) once reminded us of who we are and where we came from.

Looking at your DNA you can see that the Bantu is associated with Cameroon and Congo, and that's because there are Bantu people in those countries. You'll also notice that there is no Bantu association with the West African countries. When I was very young growing up in America we as children were told that we had to learn to speak Swahili. We did not know why but we had fun learning it. It was very easy to learn and we made up many songs and poems from Swahili. It seemed so natural and we were eager to learn a second language. After one year we were made suddenly to stop learning that language and were forced to learn Spanish, or French or Latin. We never heard about Swahili again. This was so disappointing and of course no one was able to learn those European languages.

The Bantu, they originated in West Africa? That is a Eurocentric lie! Where were they before that? Did they just come up out of the ground?... I am Congolese, the oral tradition of the bakongo states we came from the Nile valley, we entered into the forest by the way of kush.
Love your thinking and analogy. The same whites tells you of blacks livin in the sahara way back before sahara dried. They show us their drawings and its visibly blacks. So why do they refuse to recognise that after the drying of the sahara some of us went to live along the nile.
Another thing why is not anyone realising that if we " bantu" start forming study groups to find the truth ourselves without white" scholars" we'll reach our goal way faster.

Madam i m a bantu from east africa and would like to clarify a few things.
1 the bantus are africans with comon ancestry who originated from congo basin.
2 bantu is prural for people a term widely used by these comunities acrosd the bold from central africa to east african all the way to south africa. One person is mtu or mutu depending on where yu are.
3 bantus are both farmers and livestock keepers.
4 bantus have comon close related language structure.it has five basic vowels.that is A pronounced as in hat.E pronounced as in bet.I pronounced as in eat.O pronounced as in hot.U pronounced as in wood.another comonality is any word starting with ku is more often than not a verb.for a example in kiswahili kusimama (to stand) kuimba (to sing)in lingala koyemba(to sing)in my native language that is kimeru kuina(to sing).
5 it is believed the bantus despersed for various reasons some of which are enterethnic conflicts adventure search for opportunity and population growth.
6 similaties but also differences..central africa and east africa bantus languages are very close and they have adapted kiswahili as lingua franca which is easy to learn and speak.south africa bantus the zulus ndebeles have a clicking sound which is difficult to master.
I see the relation here. So in isixhosa we also say umntu(umuntu in isiZulu) for one person Abantu for many people both in Xhosa and Zulu . To sing in isiXhosa is ukombela, ukusimama means the same as Swahili but mostly used to emphasize the fact that someone is progressing in life. Ukuma in isiXhosa ukusimama in Swahili, ukuma means to stand. When we say Ume(ukuma) Kahle it means you're standing ok, the other meaning we are saying you've progressed in life(Ume Kahle empilweni). In Sesotho we say Muthu(one person) Batho for many. Inyama for meat in many African languages.
@@mayormsuthu1465 exactly while we all might be africans bantus evolved linguistically and culturally distinct from other african ethnic groups.
I have listened to languages like yoruba igbo wollof somali and ethiopian languages no similarities with bantu.on the other hand i can pick up a few words spoken by bantus anywhere.
Culturally any bantu comunity i know of in east africa circumsise boys when they reach teans as right of passage to manwood.
In my comunity however old yu are yu cannot be consindered a man unless yu are circumsised.
@@kithinjikwiriga2666 even here in South Africa we circumsise ever since God knows when, and it's always have been our culture to do so and it's important to all our tribes that still carry on with it. This shows that we knew God even before we were colonised. As the circumsission is also biblical since it started with Abrahama and Isaca to yakobi and all of us, possibilities are we are the descendants of Abraham based on my personal opinions.
@@mayormsuthu1465 Yes you have always circumcised but surely they taught you that Shaka Zulu changed the circumcision rites to introduce the age ranks in his army. Whether that practice spread to other Bantu communities is unclear. Other Bantu commentators on this video but other threads argue that they circumcise according to the Hebraic tradition 7th/8th day. However, you find circumcision in Kemet so it can be recognised as being with all Africans from the earliest times. You state that circumcision is Hebraic, then we should have found it in Ur as well. If we only find it with the quasi-mythical Hebrews and they sojourned for how many years in Kemet, then it is not theirs but something that they learnt.
@@kithinjikwiriga2666 I agree that the Bantus, the Cushiness, the Nilotes and those speaking Kwa based languages must have diverged from each other pretty early in our history. How long does it take to walk, climb, sail a continent the size of Africa if we start off from areas within a 100 mile radius of the earliest fossils? I believe that our people started in the Congo basin and followed rivers. The Bantu would thus have branches following the Zambezi taking them to there Eastern seaboard, the Nile mixing them with Cushitic and other Sudan peoples, those that followed the smaller tributaries ended up in the dense Congo and became the Batwa; and those that followed the Congo taking them to central western Atlantic seaboard; where we see the emergence of Affonso's kingdom as an example of early centralised societies; travelling northwards from Luanda via the coastline Gabon, and Cameroon are reachable in short time. Forest Antelopes like Eland would have made hunting a worthwhile activity and thus some groups would stay in these regions where prey abounds. Do we have any instances of Africans hunting Seals or Walruses? (i.e Namibia) If not, then these animals were not on our regular diet and might only be tasted through scavenging. It also indicates we didn't stay in those coastal areas with high waves and winds, favoured by these animals. How does the narrations of 'Mami Wata' affect our analysis of the Bantu migration? In fact, do the Southern Bantus's have such a narration? Or is it something West African Bantu's and Kwa speakers created to describe the children of Mami Wata with their long, stringy yellow hair emerging out of the waters?

One person- is umuntfu
Two people- is bantfu

Bantu is actually Ba-Ntu. Meaning people of Ntu. So the question is who or what is Ntu.
In some of the official languages in what is called South Africa, we speak of Batho or Ba-Tho, people of Tho (pronounced "to").
The key here is the sound of "t" and "u". The sounds were used to sound "Ntu" which stretches to "Tho" for other languages.
It is belived that we come from the sky (think the principle of Nut). Some even stretched it by saying we are Amazulu, meaning "the ones from the skies" (Zulu people).
The concept of Bantu is about belonging. It is about a people belonging to Ntu. But where does the sound "Ntu" come from?
Mkhulu Nsingiza of the Zinzi Mandela Foundation teaches us that Bantu comes from belonging to Nut. Remembering that as Africans or the Kemetic, we based naming on natural or spiritual explanations.
We love Dr Oyinsan a lot.
You know we're actually children of Israel
Nowhere is SA do people speak a language called Batho. Batho is a Sesotho name for people.
That rymes with the Baganda, we are Bantu and we are descended from Kintu.
Ki-ntu, the ntu is sole component to which all bantus relates.

@@aaroniquedemeritte5218 No they settled in Egypt
@@aaroniquedemeritte5218 Egyptians and Mesopotiams where themselves descendants of Kush. It is even written in some scripts that they were a colony of Ancient Ethiopia (Bantu area) and that there ancestors where from P.nt/B.nt, which gave “Bantu” today. Egyptians were bantus that settled there after living Kush and simply came back to kush, after Mesopotamia and Egypt got invaded and then moved to other countries in Central, East and South Africa. Not every ethnic group migrated at the same time of course, but most are from the earlier dynasties. Descendants of the last dynasties are northern and Eastern Africa (Berbers, Ethiopians,etc...) They are mixed people of ancient kushites people (who they were bantu people who that settled in Egypt, Algeria,etc...) with Iberians, italians or Arabs. This is also the why some of them till today have 3-8% Sub-Saharan African DNA in them. Some Nigerian tribes and Cameroonians also came from Kush and Settled in their current country. Because they were from the 1st-2nd dynastie they off course created there own kingdoms and now westerns are trying to use that to blame us being West-African which is not true. Especially since ancient Egypt and Kush existed for more than 15.000 years and not 3.000 years like they teach us. They have to lie about the date of the dynasties, because there theory of Bantu migration and even berbers living for a longtime in Africa will not be correct anymore.
@@aaroniquedemeritte5218 Also when I talk about Bantu, do not directly try to link with how we look today. The earliest Bantu who did not mix with Khoisans or pygmees looked a little different to a Bantu of today. Since we all share DNA of Khoisan or Pygmée, do to the fact that we live with them.
We are might Bantu
all of this information, if it is not already, should be compulsory teaching in all primary schools on the continent.
It is not valid , it is just an assumption, there hasn't been any evidence that proves that indeed Bantu came from there.

Many of us have Israelite DNA. Israel is part of continental Mama Africa!!
@@unknowngirlul2344 are you for real? Israel is part of Africa. So how can we not have AFRICAN DNA??
Do some research on DNA code E1B1A.
The West Coast of Africa was once referred to as AJUDA (JUDAH) by the Portuguese. Plz Check the British Colonial Flag of Nigeria! Plz
Research The IBO, The Lemba, The Ashanti, The Yoruba, Angolan history and The Falashas of Ethiopia, Then tell me again that there is no Israelite dna in Mama Africa. Stop getting your information from the same people that STOLE our identity. Read Deuteronomy 28. Many of us Israelites ended up on Slaves ships. Records show Slave owners knew who The Israelites were due to circumcision. Hence us being recorded as Negro rather than African. There is more genetic diversity on the African continent than the rest of the whole world combined. We need to reclaim our identities, all our indentities!!

The word ' Ba' means the soul in ancient Egyptian mythology. Ntu means oneness or life.
I agree with you. Bantu is a word coined by the European who didn't understand that the people he saw where intorducing themselves to him as individuals with a soul (i.e BANTU = MAN = A Being with a Soul)

I have been enjoying this wonderful channel and the knowledge it is spreading. I am an engineer by profession and have been looking for avenues of knowledge that will show me how our people in Sub-Saharan Africa would deal with waste water (precolonial times of course). As much as I respect the Western way, I respectfully believe their ways are inherently flawed. Is there any literature you can recommend your humble son who is seeking knowledge of this topic. Thank you
Thank you Professor (Ma'am)
Dear Dr Oyinsan,
I sincerely feel like you didn't do justice to this topic. The first reason being that you did not give dates for the so called Bantu migration.
The second reason being that, the allegation that the San or khoisan were the first settlers of Africa before the Bantu was used by the South African white settlers to justify their colonisation.
3rd I would like to give reference to Hammurabi the Amorite, 6th King of Babylon from 1792 BC whose name on Wikipedia translated to hama (kinsman) murapi (healer) both being words that are still existent in Bantu languages today. Interestingly, the Hammurabi code was the 1st code used in an organised society. Therefore, why can't we have a school of thought suggestive of Bantu migration from Africa towards the outside of Africa.
The word Bantu should not be limited to a group of languages but melanin dominant people given that the aborigines and native Indians of America all practiced animism so do the san.
There is need for thoroughness on who the Bantu are and their migration is still untouched.
Thank you for that my brother
Enkhosi you said it all. Esp ngunis and khoisan n san. We are sothern not nigerian
Exactly, dont listen to colonial history, they talk of non existent migration to justify their claims that they were in Capetown first.
Bantu people did not origin from Nigeria but around the Congo, and gradually moved from that area out to west, After North in Egypt and the middle East.
Why are so many offended at the prospect that the Bantu could have originated in West-Central Africa? I’m African American with Bantu ancestry. I don’t understand.
@@lorinealy9614 I am fully Bantu and a Zimbabwean. I am not sure about other people so I will speak for myself.
I am not at all angered by that prospect. Like you mentioned, it's just a "prospecg". What I am much concerned about now are facts. Besides the historical naration being given by the westerners, we as the Bantu also know our own history which has been orally passed down by our ancestors and is spoken partly in our totems.
I'm just wondering if you would be interested in looking at the history of Anton Wilhelm Amo, the first African philosopher post Egyptian civilization and tell us more about him. I believe he was born in Axim and belongs to the Nzema tribe in the south western part of Ghana.
Greetings May sister: I am Bantu or a person whose ancestors were sold into Trans Atlantic Slavery. Our reverence for our Ancestors does not arise to the level of Worship; this is a European propagation which seeks to demonise Bantu Spirituality. We are the children of Abram and like him we only worship the Creator of heaven and earth whom the nation in their religions call the God of Abram, Isaka and Yokube. Is it then correct to say such a reference is Ancestral Worship; you will agree it is not. I have great respect for my mother and father they are also my Ancestors do I worship them NO. This is what Europeans have been able to successfully do to the Bantus; demonise their culture and document it. Today, my question to you is, do you know that the Land known as Sub Saharan Africa is the Land of Abram and Sara or rather Zara/Zala and that what is called Bantu expansion is really the Bantus taking possession of the land of Abram. Haran is Sarah father and the brother of Abram. Haran never came to Sub Saharan Africa. But Abram and Sarah did; so the land should be rightly called Sub Sarah and Abram Africa.
Let us leave European version of our story and we will really see who we really are; I hasten to say All BANTUS are the direct descendants of Abram through Isaka and Yokube. I am more that happy to discuss these matter s further with you my sister and feel free to visit my channel. My Kindest regards Happy Samba/Sabata/Sabatha. Elder Robert of Black re-education tv

Bantus came from the Nile. Most ended up in what is now Katanga LUBA DRC. NKongos (my peoples) left these regions somewhere between the 7th-9th century and formed the Great Kongo Kingdom at around 10th century.
Present day Kikongo isn't the language of the people labeled as BaKongos. Some Kikongo languages are not even interchangable. Slavery happened and people fleed to different regions as far as Nigeria and Cameroon and they state their ancestors are from Matadi🇨🇩. A lot of Calabar people in Nigeria and coastal Cameroonians have similar stories.
Anyway, migrations happened everywhere but original bantus came from Nile and this is facts. We moved East to West. We have no relationship to West Africans. Stop stealing our history please! Most West Africans are not bantus and the very few who are, say they came from KONGO! ✌🏽
True they're related to the nile river & middle east bantu are actually afro asiatic ppl their dna spread some part across asia. Yes the Bantus are the hebrews the descendants of Abraham hence, according to the bible while some of us moved beyond the land of cush towards the south others were taken as slaves to Assyria and other places.
Our Bantus languages are very similar to the ancient byblical Hebrew and our cultures also are still intact,in my language we still have "mahari" an ancient hebrew word for dowry we call it magadi which is the same exact pronunciation so many words actually but all the Bantus language have a strong concordance and phonetics with Ancient byblical Hebrew.
