That's not what the original commenter said at all. Torchwood is a different show but it still takes place in the same universe as Doctor Who. Hell, the name is an anagram for Doctor Who.
I love the contrast between Gwen remarking the universe is brilliant and beautiful in episode 1 and then by episode 5 declaring that she now knows that the Doctor must look at this planet and turn away in shame
This was the first spine chilling moment in COE then it went onto to blow up the hub, Jack regrows himself in a painful way, 456 demand children, Ianto is killed, 456 use children to get high, the government hands them over and Jack kills his own grandson never before have have I been sickened by British Television like this
Elliot Holdsworth you nailed it. I experienced the same thing when I first saw this series. I was totally invested in everything that was going on. It was the best television I watched lol
Nah this was bloody terrifying. It felt like something was *forcing* its way through them, instead of just using them as a vessel. Plus it made the cliffhanger even worse. I don't think the writers meant this series to be "scary" per se, just incredibly dark, unnerving and foreboding. Which they did in bucket loads 😅
Very effective moment. I see this remarquable sequence. Interesting with this similarity in 'The village of the Damned(1960) and 'The invasion of the Body Snatcher'. Very good serie.
If I saw this in real life, my first response would be, "Are they possessed?" Ironically, that could actually happen in the Doctor Who universe, it just didn't happen this time. Apparently, there was magic in the universe before the Doctor's, and originally in it, but then the Time Lords "exorcised the irrational", and created science. After the destruction of Gallifrey, magic returned, but science remained. And in the universe after the Doctor's, there is magic too. Not sure if there's science.
@Cherri59 You can buy the dvds on bbcamerica website - but they are cheaper on deepdiscount if you dont mind waiting a bit (bbcamerica get them first usually). I have them all - I live in the US now and can't be without my fave shows :)
@GrimmShadowsII But the episodes are hard to find! I am an American and have been a major Dr. Who fan for many years and now loves Torchwood also. I think this is Torchwood's third season and I have only seen the first season.
@johncrwarner I'm guessing these short clips are suppose to be like advertisments, someone sees a tiny portion of the episode and they want to see the whole thing.
If you haven't watched Season 3 of Torchwood aka Children of Earth (the season is all 1 story). Stop watching these clips from it IMMEDIATELY & go rent the show & watch it!!!
Loved the first 3 seasons, concerned about the fourth. Brit writers for me have some depth and certain life experience in their writing, our writers tend to go for the shock or middle of the road. Will see though, hope its good.
Hello everyone, I’m Cassandra Frey and I’ve noticed something. And this is quite troubling to me, I’ll explain why in just a second, but what I’ve noticed is that many people, many parents of autistic kids, have made comments about losing their child to autism. And I don’t know why they do this. Maybe they want sympathy. Maybe they want someone to condone their actions. I really don’t know. But I think it’s adorable. You tell me you lost your kid to autism? Allow me to tell you about some actual diseases that could actually cause you to lose a child. Be happy the kid doesn’t have cancer or AIDS. I’m calling these people out on these claims by announcing a new project. I’m not that far into the Torchwood fandom, but I know enough about Torchwood, particularly Season 3, Children of Earth, to know that there are way worse things you could be losing your children to. The main story arc of that season revolves around an alien species, known to us only as the 456, demanding 10% of the earth’s children. And to announce their arrival, they basically hijack every child on earth and make them chant in unison “We. We. We are. We are coming. We are coming. We are coming.” My challenge, to everybody who is watching this, it doesn’t matter whether you’re autistic or just an ally, whether you’re a child or an adult, although we’d like to have as many kids participating as possible in the spirit of the original episode, is to replicate this sequence. But we can’t do it alone. To organize something this massive, we need your help. To get the word out, to make sure it’s timed perfectly, and to make sure that Project 456 is something people remember. For the good of all of us, for a future that welcomes those who are different rather than labeling them as lost, for a world where every person’s gifts are valued, we need your help. Project 456 is more than just a large-scale fandom reference. It’s more than just a public prank. It’s the kickoff of a paradigm shift that is centuries in the making. But it’s nothing without your help. So if you really care about autistic people, if you really care about our future, our rights, and our integrity, you will find a way to help us make this happen.
are these kids suppose to be Starseeds connecting to some alian race, whats the point of the show Torchwood? I'm from America and I think we get it on BBC America on digital cable.
And again, if this is the example of the so-called "depth" that British writers have over American writers, they can keep this sort of contempt for people of ANY faith in their own country. Christians aren't the only ones who believe in a higher power, right or wrong (and it can't be proven either way). Despite my own lapsed faith (though I'm not an atheist yet), it bothers me to see any faith treated so contemptible. Doesn't Davies have any empathy or social skills whatsoever?
And yes, this is the very well known DEPTH of our beloved British writers. That was a scene telling the viewers that in a situation like that we shouldn't feel small and insignificant even if we already are. There are billions of stars with billions of planets orbiting around them in billions of galaxies out there, in the universe and we haven't touched even a single % of it. There is so much to see, so much to find, so much to reach. It's already ignorant enough to think we are the only planet with living beings on it, but to think a person is nothing in a scenario when he/she knows there are living beings all around the universe, would be even more so. It should be considered a crime. There is already so much beauty to see on this planet. To know there are billions more to see and then look into the mirror and think you are worthless compared to that, is ignorant and stupid. Why? Because every one of us would stand in front of it all. And we would have the chance to see as much of it all as we can. And we would need all the people to go and reach the depths of the space. To see all the beauty our minds could imagine and more. And to then go and take your own life, because it all feels like too much would be idiotic at least.
katie9918 So... you assume that because one writer who happens to be British writes something you don't agree with applies to every single British writer and somehow you think that Davis doesn't have social skills? Is there some rule in your world that says that writers aren't allowed to inject their belief system into their writing, because if so than you're going to be disappointed by a TON of other writers, including some from the American side of the pond. And that's me assuming you're American and not Australian, Canadian, South African, or from any other part of the world where Katie might be a common name.
This scene is the most unnerving and discomfiting thing I have ever seen in the Whoniverse.
Gorgeous.
This was not from Dr. Who, if that's what you're suggesting.
That scene was perfectly executed. Gave me chills first time I saw that.
First time? I've lost count how many times I've seen it, and I'm still terrified
i don't envy them filming this. all those child extras and making them stand still. must of been hard
Check the kid on the right at 2:02
Must have
My childhood friends brother was in this apparently, he told me when we were both younger
3:03 "It's all right, I'm a doctor"
But not the right kind of Doctor, unfortunately.
Sickened? It is a TV show. Get over it.
SPOILERS!????!!?!!!??
2:04 that boy in the back ground is legit me in my lessons at school 😂
this scene could have been so much more chilling if the children had screamed and said "we are coming" once. theb snapped straight back to life.
My reaction when they started saying "WE ARE COMING" :
"WELL SHIIIIEEEEEEET"
Spinetingling. Probably the most disturbing of the Torchwood series. Utterly brilliant
One of the most spine chillings scenes of all time.
2:02 little kid on the right is looking at the camera realizes, oh shit oh shit oh shit... XD
We are coming.
...
...
BACK
Her reaction at 3:40 is there best thing ever.
I love Torchwood… miss all of them.
this scene gave me goosebumps
Look closely at 2:02 - 2:03, the kid on the far right look at the camera, then his eyes move to straight forward
lol i cant unsee it now that kid ruined the take
If I saw this in real life, my first response would be, "Are they possessed?" Ironically, that could actually happen in the Doctor Who universe, it just didn't happen this time. Look at the wiki.
I love Jack's running, it's so funny
How did the children scream for so long? I'd pass out if I tried that!
I doubt they're actually screaming, it's probably audio layered onto them just opening their mouths.
@Cherri59 You can buy the dvds on bbcamerica website - but they are cheaper on deepdiscount if you dont mind waiting a bit (bbcamerica get them first usually).
I have them all - I live in the US now and can't be without my fave shows :)
@Cherri59
I think your best bet if you don't have BBCA is an online store like Amazon, you might be able to get a regular dvd store order them.
@GrimmShadowsII But the episodes are hard to find! I am an American and have been a major Dr. Who fan for many years and now loves Torchwood also. I think this is Torchwood's third season and I have only seen the first season.
I know this comment is 12 yrs ago. But I just binged watched the show on HBO Max
lol "we are coming" and the lady's "oh my god" sound funny
put some respect on Gwen Cooper's name x
@GrimmShadowsII
I have to say they are fairly random and I am not convinced they actually have a strategy.
@johncrwarner
It's Children of Earth and it's out. I'm in the US and I got it in August from Amazon.
@thedude1325
Compared to the Doctor Who William Hartnell clips they have released this is recent stuff.
Maybe it is coming out on DVD soon.
@johncrwarner
I'm guessing these short clips are suppose to be like advertisments, someone sees a tiny portion of the episode and they want to see the whole thing.
I wasn't planning on sleeping anyway
@Anihilacija lol you mean 2:29 right? was just about to comment that! You beat me to it!
Is this Nintendo's new idea of adverstising their new console?
Haha I got it...Wii are coming
@imachrismoose Linking to a point in the video? Right click the video on the point you want people to watch and choose the second option to copy link.
original mannequin challenge
nah, the episode "Rose" of Doctor Who was actually the first to do that, in a scene where Rose encounters the Autons for the first time
TehMondasianSpartan actually the first time we see the autons is
TehMondasianSpartan the Autons first appeared in Spearhead from Space in 1970
MondySpartan nah it was during the auton invasion in the 70’s
Big speach about how everyone knows aliens exist and then a few years later know one believes in aliens. The doctor who universe for you
That was pretty horrifying. Fuck this shit. Let's get back watching DORA.
I like the searching of that link wich does not exist more...
Why are clips like these coming out so late after the episode's original release?
Oh wow! That dude at the beginning is in Emmerdale
@GrimmShadowsII
So the mystery of why they put these videos up remains - at least PBS are usually advertising their programs
Shit that gave me the creepiest shivers...
We want children.
"I used to like chocolate until i found that my annoying neighbor eat chocolate too. Now i hate it"
Well. That was horrifying.
WTF was that dark voice among the children's "We are coming"?! 3:17
