Thanks Leo for the great video! The '66 AC Boost V2 is in the clean amp list in BIAS FX2, so I think it is modelling the normal channel/plug of the VOX AC30. There is other two amp model in the crunch section to model the VOX AC30: AC Handwired and AC Crunch HW. The last one with a refined mic position, sounds far-far closer the crunch sound of VOX AC30 you trying to create. At least for my ear :-)
I think the big message here is how very different all of these options sound. All pretensions aside, I think they all sound pretty good. If you play well, the subtle differences in tone shouldn’t matter. You can tweak all of these to deliver the tone you want. It’s just surprising how different the different products sound.

Ciao Leo!
Grazie a te.
Nice review, ge labs is a nice sounding app.My bias fx 2 on windows desktop lags a lot can you recommend what audio interface should i use and the cpu processor requirement? Thanks leo
Hi, thank you! The minimum requirements are the following: Windows 8 or later, 4GB of RAM minimum, 8GB or more recommended, 1.5GHz Dual core processor minimum, 2.0GHz Dual core or more recommended. If you have problems, maybe you can try to check the Audio Buffer Size, setting it on a higher level. The lower you set this value, the higher CPU resources you need. As regards the audio interface, I'm gonna do a video about it! Thank you once more!
babyface v1 is cheap by now and has tiny latency, and will do the trick. Otherwise, check the thread on Gearslutz. it hink even the UR44 should fine (?)
Leo thank you for one more great video! My suggestion would be cut the space between sounds. The comparison would be better to the ears if the sound of each sample was without a fade out fade in. Greetings from Brasil
Well done Leo! I personally think the TH-U Mobile app is at 50% of it's potential, because it's recent. But, to me, and i'm a high gain player, is the best plugin of the 4. Thanks

Since IAA will be deprecated in iOS/iPadOS 14 (which is supposed to be released in autumn of this year) I wonder how fast or if at all these apps will get AUv3 support. I wonder what you think about the apps from Nembrini audio which are already AUv3 plugins. Would be great to see a comparison!

Some thoughts I hope are constructive. I'd start these comparisons with the individual sounds of each modeller instead of mixing them all up in a demo song at the beginning. I found that confusing to follow. None of them really captured the real Vox but each one probably does some amp models better than others. BIAS FX has unlimited presets. As far as I know, you can just keep creating user banks. The GE sounded the closest but to my ears, the BIAS model sounded the fullest and would have been fine with a gain pedal in the chain. Nothing yet beats my GT-1000 though. Thanks again for doing these comparisons. I really appreciate them.

Hi, thank you for your compliments and support: it is really important for me! Thank you also for your suggestion...actually I have some video in the pipeline...I will try to do some more videos about the the TH U in the future...
Hey Leo, I have Bias FX2 & Bias Amp 2. Personally, I don't use any of the amps in Bias FX2 since the Amps in Bias Amps 2 is way more customizable. So running Bias Amps 2 through Bias FX 2 & using Vox IR's have got a really good sound for me with various effects & pedals. I think you would get a way better sound using that method & I think that's the way Positive Grid designed it to be. Also, have you tried the Amp modelling in GE labs? I am fairly new to GE labs & I am having a hard time getting used to customizing real amp models. I see some say it is the closest thing to real amps, searching for Vids to confirm that theory, lol
Hi, yes, I do agree...it's a pretty good way the one you suggested fot Bias! As regards the GE Labs, I've done a couple of videos that should answer your question and that I think you may check out here: >> demo review: ua-cam.com/video/z76P-AZWq4o/v-deo.html >> profiling procedure: ua-cam.com/video/GSA9BSXaWng/v-deo.html >> Kemper vs GE Labs: ua-cam.com/video/50O7ui44jNg/v-deo.html Thank you!!!
Awesome, thanks I will check it out. I own a Boss Katana that I can get amazing sound & tone out of when playing Live. The problem I have is replicating that tone on Ableton. I may eventually buy Plug-ins such as Amplitube 5 or whatever but for now I am trying to record through AUM & then transfer that into Ableton. Kind of a rigorous process. Or into Cubasis 3. I have a hard time editing just using an iPhone though, haha. I can get good tones in each of the Apps but for some reason, each D.A.W. causes them to lose tone & quality
I agree, if you spend some time with Bias Amp 2 and learn how to build and tweak amps to your liking and then import to FX2 for effects you can get killer tones.
So I think that your opinion is true. Amplitudes version of the vox will sound better if you double up the aunt and the cabs. Which would understandably be an unfair comparison. I haven't tried G labs that much it but I really like its capabilities and it can profile. I also love amplitude But I'm disappointed in the vox and Fender amps but they are still great.
I think the Rig Player in THU has the best sounds. In fact, I don't use any of the modelled amps in THU, only the Rig packs I have purchased. Unfortunately buying the individual Rig packs is rather expensive and would cost more than some hardware units if you buy all the packs.
hey thanks for comparing these, I know I'm late to find this, but it's what I was looking for. My take away is they're all pretty capable, I would be hard pressed to be felt left down with any one of these by themselves.
The best is actually Yonac's Tonestack Pro for having the best MIDI implementation that makes the app the most controllable out of all of them. The only thing it lacks is inverting the toggled states of binary parameters.
I wrote to Overloud, Positive Grid and Mooer and asked about AUv3 support for TH-U mobile, Bias FX 2 mobile and GE Labs, respectively. They wrote back the following: - Overloud (June 8, 2020): Currently the app doesn’t support IAA nor AUv3, however we are working on it and in the next weeks we will release a new version (same app tho) that include the AUv3. So you won’t need to purchase it again. - Positive Grid (June 11, 2020): We will not support AUv3. - Mooer: No answer, yet. (June 11, 2020)
Thank you, for this very valuable info! I really appreciate that you share it with us! Please, if you have more info in the future, please let us know!!! Thank you once more!
Thanks Davide, of course for the compliments about my music that are very important for me, but also for the suggestions, which I find very useful. Sooner or later I must also try STL ...
A different approach is to use these for a good & descent sound, not to mimic exactly the real amps. From this point of view im pretty happy with ΒΙΑS FX2 ,you have to dig and twitch a little to get things right, but eventually you going to be rewarded.
I agree with you when you said ''Things are not getting better''. I've tried to get onboard with IRs and cab sims but I just can't do it. For young players who have never had the opportunity to play through an actual quality amp in person it might be, in their mind, the same thing or at least ''close'' but it's really not. All of those VOX sims were simply pathetic, nowhere near the real thing, not even close as if the designers had never even heard a real one. They all sounded like pawnshop Fenders with bias issues and odd tube selections. I've played through just about every amplifier type known to man and mic'd most of them with some really nice mics, I know what a real amp sounds like both in person and once recorded and I've not heard any ir or sim come anywhere near the real thing. In a sloppy mix, maybe it can work if the guitar is pushed down or it's a rhythm part that isn't supposed to be scrutinized. In any setting where the guitar is featured there is no way I would use anything but a real amp and mic(s), all the irs and sims I've heard remind me of what an acoustic guitar sounds like through a piezo pickup and PA, thin, jangly and somehow like the strings are made of nylon, tacky at best. If I were backpacking in the Himalaya and couldn't lug a full sized amp, mics, mic pre and mixer with me... yeeeeeeaaaaa no, still no. For kids and those who just can't use an amp due to living conditions it is what it is but I really can't see them getting many compliments after doing so. My advice is get a real amp and a real cabinet and build an isolation cabinet to mic said cabinet in, don't mess around with wishy nerdy gimmicks, that's just fooling yourself and it won't work on anyone else.

If you have problems, maybe you can try to check the Audio Buffer Size, setting it on a higher level. The lower you set this value, the higher CPU resources you need.
As regards the audio interface, I'm gonna do a video about it! Thank you once more!
@@LeoGibsonGtr thank you very much for your help looking forward to your next video.
Hi, here you can check out the video: ua-cam.com/video/naTeXd5boA4/v-deo.html
Thank you!!!
babyface v1 is cheap by now and has tiny latency, and will do the trick.
Hi, thank you both for the compliments and the suggestion!
Well done Leo! I personally think the TH-U Mobile app is at 50% of it's potential, because it's recent. But, to me, and i'm a high gain player, is the best plugin of the 4. Thanks
Hi Paulo, thank you for sharing your opinion with us!
Thank you Leo. GE was the most "acceptable".
Hi Stephane, thank you for sharing your opinion!
Hey Leo, Thanks for providing great gear comparison videos. I would like to hear your opinion about Boss katana artist mk2 if you have a chance. Could be nice comparison video with Moore SD 75 and fender mustang GTX 100 and even Line6 Spider.
Hi, thank you! This is a great suggestion for a video! I have some videos in the pipeline and I would also have to acquire the amps...so maybe in the future...Thank you once more for your suggestion!
Loving these comparison reviews! The graphs & charts are so helpful, great job!
Thank you John, I'm super happy that you like my videos!!!
For the THU All bundle pack doest it include the Rock Bundle and Metal Bundle?
Hi, I've checked the overloud web site and I was not able to find a clear answer to your question. Please, if someone knows, drop us a message here.
Thank you!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Big fan of your reviews and even more so of your playing, Leo!
Also, THU All Bundle includes everything (except for various Rig Libraries). Rock and Metal bundles are subsets of the full version.
@@myactiveimagination Thank you, I'm really happy that you enjoyed the music!!! Thank you also for sharing the info!!!
Hi, yes I also wanted to include Nembrini, but comparing 5 different plugins would have been too complicated and maybe not easy to understand. Maybe in the future I will do a video about the Nembrini: thank you for your suggestion!
Leo Gibson Thank you for your nice work! You are a great guitar player and songwriter!!!
Thank you so much! This is really a great compliment!
I agree with you, they sound very different. Can you do a test with cheap analog interfaces like the simplest iRig to campare the sound with more espansive digital interfaces?
Hi Tommaso, thank you for your suggestion. Actually, I'm working on a comparison of xSonic xTone, MeloAudio TSMega and iRig iStomp IO. Thank you for your interest in my channel!
Hi Tommaso, here you can check out a video comparison about guitar audio interfaces to be used with these plugins: ua-cam.com/video/naTeXd5boA4/v-deo.html

Leo Gibson Hallo..okayy..🙏🙏🙏 thank you very much for the link.😁😁😁👍👍...i'm from Indonesian..🙏🙏
You are welcome!!! 😊
Thank you, your message is for sure constructive and clever! thank for sharing your opinion with us and for your suggestion!
Dear Leo. There is a way to import custom Wav ir in gelab?
Hi, I don't think it's possible....you can for sure import IR in you Mooer pedalboard...but I'm not 100% sure...
Thank you!
Grazie 🙂
But I need this demo, thanks. But the graphics displayed four cents not two ; )
😊
Really nice legato in that demo song. GE Labs continues to impress.
Thank you!
really one more time thanks to you leo.i didn't know about overloud th u made an ios app before.i just downloaded it n got blown away by their hi-gain tones..there's not many videos out there except yours n choptones.can u kindly make a video on xtone pedal midi settings with the thu ios app plz.thank u in advance.great contents always.cheers from India.
Hi, thank you for your compliments and support: it is really important for me! Thank you also for your suggestion...actually I have some video in the pipeline...I will try to do some more videos about the the TH U in the future...
@@LeoGibsonGtr thank you a lot
As regards the GE Labs, I've done a couple of videos that should answer your question and that I think you may check out here:

>> profiling procedure: ua-cam.com/video/GSA9BSXaWng/v-deo.html

Awesome, thanks I will check it out. I own a Boss Katana that I can get amazing sound & tone out of when playing Live. The problem I have is replicating that tone on Ableton. I may eventually buy Plug-ins such as Amplitube 5 or whatever but for now I am trying to record through AUM & then transfer that into Ableton. Kind of a rigorous process. Or into Cubasis 3. I have a hard time editing just using an iPhone though, haha. I can get good tones in each of the Apps but for some reason, each D.A.W. causes them to lose tone & quality
Is anyone else having problems with GE Labs? Everytime I try & download a Preset I get nothing? Or Entire samples...nothing? The App crashes
I agree, if you spend some time with Bias Amp 2 and learn how to build and tweak amps to your liking and then import to FX2 for effects you can get killer tones.
What is different between Bias FX2 and Bias Amps?? Bias FX2 include Bias Amps
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion!
I think the Rig Player in THU has the best sounds. In fact, I don't use any of the modelled amps in THU, only the Rig packs I have purchased. Unfortunately buying the individual Rig packs is rather expensive and would cost more than some hardware units if you buy all the packs.
Hi Peter, thank you for sharing your experience! I have to check out the Rig Player deeply....
BIAS FX2 is not free for now??
HI, as far as I know the app is free, the plugin is not free
Thank you!
Thank your comparison Leo,but I’m sure the Th-u have looper ,please check again
Ok, I will check it out (please consider that here I'm talking about the mobile version of the THU)! Thank you for your message!
hey thanks for comparing these, I know I'm late to find this, but it's what I was looking for. My take away is they're all pretty capable, I would be hard pressed to be felt left down with any one of these by themselves.
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you enjoyed the content!!!
The best is actually Yonac's Tonestack Pro for having the best MIDI implementation that makes the app the most controllable out of all of them. The only thing it lacks is inverting the toggled states of binary parameters.
Hi, thank you for sharing...I didn't know that plugin, I will check it out...thank you for sharing!
Great video
Thank you, appreciated!
Ciao, secondo me si.
Leo Gibson Grazie Mille, quale app mi consiglieresti per piccoli live?
I wrote to Overloud, Positive Grid and Mooer and asked about AUv3 support for TH-U mobile, Bias FX 2 mobile and GE Labs, respectively. They wrote back the following:
- Overloud (June 8, 2020): Currently the app doesn’t support IAA nor AUv3, however we are working on it and in the next weeks we will release a new version (same app tho) that include the AUv3.
Dummies (these other companies). TH-U is the best by far simply because it has AUV3.
THU not supporting IAA is a bit misleading, as it supports the better AUv3 (and therefore multiple instances)
Yes,agreed, no one sounds like the real vox, with ir was litle bit better

Hi, thank you for the suggestion!
Thanks Davide, of course for the compliments about my music that are very important for me, but also for the suggestions, which I find very useful. Sooner or later I must also try STL ...
Interesting on PC
Hi, yes I do agree...I need 48 hours a day...😊 Thank you for your message!
GE sounded best and had the best feature set.
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion with us!
Very useful. Make sence. Real Vox is much better. No more plastik womans... Ha-ha.Thanks
Thank you! 😊😊😊
A different approach is to use these for a good & descent sound, not to mimic exactly the real amps. From this point of view im pretty happy with ΒΙΑS FX2 ,you have to dig and twitch a little to get things right, but eventually you going to be rewarded.
Hi, thank you for sharing...yes, it is a good approach
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion with us!
Hi thank you so much for sharing your experience and opinion!!
