First time I went to a yoga class I thought how hard could this be it’s just stretching. Turned into one of the most intense workouts I’ve experienced.
I experienced the same thing my first yoga class, like why am I sweating? Lol
@@c0wboys4life for sure. I was a sweaty mess.
You might wanna try hot yoga (bikram yoga) as well. I was legit light-headed by the end when I tried it the first time.
@@9xqspx6 that sounds unpleasant.
My first time was a power yoga class. I was looking everybody, like "how the hell is it so hard"😂
Watching a champ being a confused beginner at other disciplines is always hilarious and wholesome, it's like watching a huge full grown muscle mountain getting his a kicked by his tiny moma 🤣 appreciate this kind of content so much
Only thing left is a Zumba video😂
Larry YES!!!! haha
yea yea zumba! we want zumba! lol
How about Tae Bo with Billy Blanks?
I think all of us serious lifters, no matter what level we’re at or how much we lift could do with a bunch of this kind of stuff regularly. Most gym bros are banged up and tight.
every gymbro do this during a deload. if you train hard you gotta recover hard too
Agree. There's no enough channels talking about this, in contrast to thousands videos of "how to improve your total, sq, bp, dl..."
A real gymbro should do this on rest days. "Deload" is too far. Your body needs movement. @@Ty-oe4dr
I think most lifters could benefit from some general mobility and core training but "exercise systems" (I'm being kind here) like pilates or yoga are needlessly complicated for that. We can get everything we need really from a handful of stretches and some planks.
The same way that genpop folk could probably use with some basic strength training but that doesn't mean they need to jump on a powerlifting program.
@@BigUriel I know what you mean .. I just think leaving it up to us can be a bit … unreliable. I can handle intense cardio, hard lifting … but mobility and stretching and shit drives me nuts, massive adhd attack lol I hate that shit. If you’re doing a whole session under instruction and kind of “held accountable” it’s gonna be more effective imo since you can’t just half ass and “that’ll do”
I say all this shit but I don’t go do it 😂… but I mean in theory it would be a good idea haha
As a Pilates girl , she is being too easy on him
She’s not trying to injure him his body is worth allot of money
it looks complicated.
It was his first class... Not easy
Yes! I’m a reformer instructor and this workout was way too beginner/easy especially for someone in shape. I give my intermediate levels a way harder workout than this. On his angle at too long, needed to do balance lunges etc..
I would have walked out.
I was professional dancer that did Pilates and Yoga at least 4 days a week. Now, I'm a bodybuilder (as a hobby). All 3 principles have made bodybuilding incredibly easy to stay injury free. Never a cramp anywhere despite lifting pretty heavy. I think people take core and flexibility too lightly, and I wish more got into at least yoga. Another thing is breathing. As a dancer, breathing is probably the most essential thing besides weight balancing. Sounds rudimentary, but i've trained other tour dancers that somehow did NOT know how to control their breath nor squeeze their core correctly. Helped a lot when doing heavy DL's and squats. Expand your horizons folks!
couldnt agree more!! I am a competitive weightlifter who also does yoga and pilates.they all compliment each other so well and Im way less injury prone than my teammates
For everyone thinking that pilates is easy, you should give it a try. It'll blow your mind. I work out 4-5 times a week, but when I tried pilates for the first time I nearly cried. Female trainer was maybe 160cm and max. 50kg, when she did the exercise it looked so easy, when it was my turn she even lowered the resistance and still it was crazy hard to do. Once you're able to do it properly they might just change up the angle a bit, but that makes it even more hard... The trainer explained to me that pilates focus more on stability and works out a different layer in the muscle, therefore it doesn't matter that much if you can lift heavy weights or not.
I’m a 51yro former elite gymnast. Started Pilates 14mos ago. I’m as jacked as I’ve ever been. It’s all on how you do it. I call it secret CrossFit. 😂
"works out a different LAYER OF MUSCLE" is all you had to say for me to know you and her have no fucking clue what you're talking about LMFAAAO. y'all would get grifted so hard by like, shake weights and Chloe Ting "get abs in 2 weeks" click bait bs videos.
I’ve been doing weights for 5 years and then tried Pilates two months ago. I used to think Pilates was bleh, but Holy shit it’s quite challenging , got my ass kicked
Kudos to you for going out of your comfort zone Larry, that's how you keep growing brother!
I don’t even know you, but I’m legit very proud of you. You took it very seriously and had respect for it and the instructor, listened to instruction very well and placed yourself outside your comfort zone. You did good! Enjoyed this.
Pilates and lifting are two different sides of the strength gaining coin. They both have gaps, but if you combine them you have quite the start to becoming an athlete .
It’s amazing how strong you can be, then you run into exercises that hit wierd supporting groups or flexibility and they just explode in difficulty. Great job sticking it out.
When I herniated a disk in my lower back I struggled to get full flexibility back in my squat after I recovered. Pilates helped me stretch and strengthen my lower back and helped my squat a lot.
Yeah exactly … this is why I cringe at people who think just doing the big three builds complete strength. There’s so much more to it.
31:45 while on squat 500KG: “ONE MOOORREEE!!!!” , while on pilates table: “…..one more…maybe…”😂😂😂😂
Pilates is like recovery work and core work combined.
Pilates will HUMBLE you! I've been taking classes for a year now and it never gets easier
in the beginning, she said this was made for rehabbing soldiers during WWII. That makes perfect sense to be able to isolate certain muscles for healing. They then essentially turned each movement into an isolation/concentration sarcoplasmic hypertrophy exercise looking to trigger lactic acid burn. The advantage is that you can isolate just about any muscle with light weight and spring tension without the restrictions of vertical/gravity load. A lot like semi-loaded yoga. Terrible for hypertrophy, but for flexibility and overall health im sure its better than nothing.
not only is it better than nothing but it's great for injury prevention. that's why many dancers use it for cross-conditioning and most professional ballet schools have dedicated classes for pilates. the creator was inspired by eastern methods of moving, namely yoga and martial arts, so it makes sense that the bones of those disciplines are present in pilates as well!
If you are doing it correctly, it is straight up torture.
That's not quite right - what she said. Josef Pilates was imprisoned in the UK during WW1 (because he was a foreign national). He created the method in the POW camp because alot of the prisoners became ill - physically and mentally. Important to remember that they weren't soliders - they were just civilians. So he created exercises to help them.
@@wandorous Right, but I'd like to stress that rather than developing his method, he polished it during his time at the internment camp. He initially started developing his method during his youth due to poor health
Your are wrong, you can make muscles with pilates, but of course you can't be big,
Larry grunting half the video , had to lower my volume 😂
haha exactly.
LMFAO
I liked it
🤣🤣 i was homie sounds like hes about to nut lmaooo
Love how Larry is up for any Fitness challenges!
This is what you call a proper fitness influencer
I don’t, would love more if he refused to continue, I would.
Best way to train is cross train. She is a really good trainer. I like that she gives out clear cues
Thank you for this video because people swear pilates should be easy if you are already a bodybuilder or lift heavy. It’s a different workout and can be challenging for most beginners.
I respect this guy for trying new/different types of workouts. To see a man this strong struggle with basic movement shows that lifting weights doesn’t really transition to functional movements which also takes strength and stability. With that being said it’s great to see a man with this many followers and fan base try these different forms of exercise and I hope it encourages his fan base to be open to try things like this and learn and understand the benefits of it. I’m happy for this guy and proud of him at the same time. Guys of this stature are to good to try different things. Glad he’s open to everything and always has his ears open to listen and learn. Much respect Larry
Larry doesnt stretch thats all. Andrew Jacked can do the splits...
@@MrMakeLifeHappen yeah I know I was just talking about from the influential stand point. Larry just has a bigger fan base than Andrew jacked which is no disrespect to him because he’s big time as well but people will just do what Larry does just because their a fan and follow what he’s doing.
These are not functional movements. Carrying groceries is a functional movement. Planting flowers is a functional movement. Mixing pancake batter is a functional movement.
@@mitchellsteindler yup here we go lol
@@8urym3ag27dude wtf how is he wrong
Bro is getting WORKED 😂😂 fair play wheels
Hey great video and such a nice and knowledgeble instructor!
Being confident enough to be new and uncomfortable at something new, you’ve earned a new subscriber
I find this video fascinating. I'm 70, had lumbar fusion surgery about 1.5 years ago. Started working with a pilates instructor 6-7 months ago. It's been transformative for me. I know I've gained a lot of functional fitness. It's truly interesting watching someone so strong struggling with some of these exercises.
Wonderful guy with a great sens of humor. Good for him to put himself out there and TRY! Learning stretches may really help him overall.
Plus, his fantastic deep laugh would keep me motivated in any class!
Well done, you!
Wow. I made it through this whole video in one go! It was SUPER interesting. I was amazed to see how a person who is so strong in one way, makes strength in another. Thanks for doing this. 😅
Bruh, larry living his life at max....bro gonna excel at everything... Powerlifting, bodybuilding and now pilates...
Don't forget strong man and arm wrestling
Vinyasa yoga and pilates saved my lower back from constant pain. They are honestly in the top 5 workouts I've ever done.
I’d be working so desperately to not blow monster farts the entire time.
LOL
Decompress lol
They happen all the time and no problem at all. Exactly like when you are at the physiotherapist😅
this was so fun to watch!!! Hunter was great and it was really cool watching you go through the whole thing
Love the relaxation and rehabilitative side
its motivating to see you do different modalities!
In larrys defence i was injured for a few years and i did alot of this stuff at home and its using strength in wierd places.its humbling.
Now we need a Hunter tries powerlifting video. 🤣
I worked alot with rehab for athletes and this is very interesting to me. I thinks this would be amazing as a compliment for many people.
Met you in Trinidad, you were absolutely awesome Larry. Love you bro!!
Such a great video loved it!
love these videos where Larry is a beginner and struggling!
Larry Wheels is Nice And Kind. Most Inspirational Powerlifter Bodybuilder,
U
Mad respect for being open to different forms of exercise.
Rly liked seeing this kind of content
Proud of you Larry. Stick with it. ❤
Omg so much relaxing exercise. Watching it making me relax too. What a nice trainer you are🎉❤😊👍
Great job to both!
Hardest fullbody workout that I see.😅
The instructor is very informative, keeping eyes on bad movements, also she have good communication skill. Nice sence of humor. I laugh alot watching this video. Great job 👍
Hunter henry is a great instructor!!
I did with my misses and I’m a 126kg strong fit dude and I struggled in Pilates which was super humbling great video
I wish we had one of these at the YMCA I go to. I do both yoga and Pilates but we don't have this device. We mainly work out on the floor.
Excellent teacher . Good to larry too listening to her well .
I just know thats why pilates not so cheap . A lot of instruction here & there
The Pilates shake is reeeeaaaaalllll
the body works at its maximum power, the body works to the nth degree, it may seem strange but with these exercises you can increase strength where weights cannot reach, at the same time you practice gymnastics which is the real mechanism that really does the body good , combined together with bodybuilding is deadly
a lot of respect for this gentleman, cool that he tried something new :) :)
Awesome workout Miss Hunter Pilates champion
I have a love/hate relationship with Pilates. At home Pilates is already no joke so I get the struggle lol. I haven't gone to an actual Pilates studio but I want to.
I really like this instructor.
That "oh boy" towards the end had me rolling. I think we all knew what he was feeling at that moment.
I’m giggling through this whole video I love it
More of this pls
Bro this video is gold I was dying of laughter 😂😂😂
i want to see another video of you doing this again!!
17:13 - 17:15 "it's too heavy"
...never would i have ever thought I'd hear LARRY WHEELS say those words in that order.
Seeing a dude like this struggling is crazyyyyyy
The instructor was very impressive. If you think Pilates is hard…try teaching it! Kudos to her for making it seem easy! 👍
Exponiendo se a un proceso diferente, grande Larry 😅😅
Feet in straps is my fav 😆 thanks for giving it a try! It’s great to see you try different forms of exercise!
This video was f funny from start to end.🤣❤️
When he said "Now where's that ball?" I lost it lmfaooo
Foot to straps seems like a perfect example of motion is lotion. That just seems like such a nice recovery movement.
i remember some of these exercises looking like larry or worse after my back injury. but you get used to these exercises and your strength explodes
man she was soo sweet!
Larry def hit
@@bikramdhaliwal2113 nah
@@raymondgonzales5956bro is in denial 😂
Drinking challenge:
Every time Larry says "ok" take a shot
Or deadlift 300 pounds instead
😂😂 Larry saying ok whist sinking made me laugh
great video!!
Okay counter: 276, with an average of almost 6 per minute, impressive! That's gotta be a new PR! Okay!
Okay
Pilates is very good for the core and for anyone who has spinal injuries
She should have explained in the begging of the workout that in Pilates you exhale when you need to “push” or do any kind of force in your body. You inhale to prepare your core essentially… and then you exhale and do the main movement of the exercise with your core always engaged basically.
I’m sure Larry would have done the exercises a lot better if he knew how he was supposed to be breathing
Also… this was not begginer friendly
Genuine question: isn' t it how lifters breath? Call me stupid but I' thought absolutely everybody (no matter the discipline) inhale to prep and exhale to push.
man larrys laugh sounds like TRT
Coordination torture. I’m into it 😂
I hope to see Larry do another pilates lesson
those are the the video i love
She’s teaching a posterior pelvic tilt for rectus abdominus engagement. As a power lifter you need to have a neutral spine or an anterior pelvic tilt - last thing you want is a posterior tilt while lifting because your lumbar spine will be taking the weight. It’s important to have pelvic awareness and be able to get into all pelvic positions.
How often people fall inside that thing or fall offside ??
larry should try BJJ or MMA, would be fun to see
Probably too stiff to perform
usually people aren't stiff enough :p @@philip1470
Most muscular guys can’t fight. They think their muscles are enough.
@@bxi1547just admit you're weak and jealous bud
@@bxi1547 that is the most cliche comment possible lmao. i literally clicked to see the replies because i knew i would see something like this
Sometimes we forget that only a small part of our own body can be more heavy than lifting 2000 kgs. This is the daily warm up-prep for a ballet class😅. I' m impressed by how fast your brain catched and coordinated the "scoop, scoop, wrap ribs!" 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Lol I thought Larry was kidding first when he was shaking like that
why was he shaking? like at 23:50
Sinking the stomach in? Is she talking about the pelvic tilt before working lower core? When I think about the hip and the spine relationship it would make sense tilting the hip the release compression.
Pilates is no joke ❤ You did great! 🎉
I dont know how I ended up here but just going to say that she seems like a sweetheart of a person.
respect!
You should do it more often
It took me way too long to figure out the guy watching them from the other side of the gym was actually a reflection of the camera man 😳 😂
She had larry making oldman noises 😂
The amount of grunts Larry made
this is the healthiest excercise larry has done in years jaja
Pilates is not as easy as it looks. More guys should look into it. It’s a great body strengthening technique.
Does this instructor have a channel she is 💯🧘🙏
So are there any advantages beside getting a nice stretch and feeling good after a workout? Is this good for like flexibility? Decrease risk of injury?
pilates isn’t stretching at all
The weights would of been a piece of cake for Larry 🤣
Id kill to see Shaw and Eddie do this, I doubt the damn machines would actually hold that amount of weight.
