please give a raise to whomever had the genius fucking idea of having the idiots phoning in during the judgement and forcing the chefs to repeat everything out loud. absolutely hilarious
Truly inspired 😂😂😂
It adds a whole new level to the unhinged character of the episodes, and I am here for it!
I cried from laughing
So fucking funny 😂
Yessss this is the best part
Love how they went from introducing Johnny as "prestigious guest chef" to "he lives in the attic and won't leave"
the energy is so perfect
...to "Honorary Try Guy" :)
Susan Feniger is incredibly humble; it was so refreshing listening to her. Also this has been one of the funniest Phoning It In videos so far
Yes! It was a delight to see her cracking up with everyone else.
i loved her !!!
"I know what a whisk is!"
"Okay, well some people who play this game don't."
Zach legit traumatizes his partners in this game from sheer incompetence. In fact, he may be the human embodiment of "weaponized incompetence."
I'm pretty sure he was high throughout the whole thing, no? Lol
I dont know if it was weaponized incompetence and more so just pure incompetence
True lol. And most of the time he also (seems) purposely act sloppy and stupid
"We can't seem to get him to leave" we NEVER want him to leave. Johnny is one of the best things to ever happen to this company.
Absolutely. I was very worried when the Try Guys said they wanna bring more people in but they hit a home run with Johnny, Kwesi and the others.
Absolutely!
he's the newest member the try guys: the suffering guy
Jonny is everyone’s favorite
I love Johnny, Kwesi, Jared, and Marissa!
The added dynamic of the chefs repeating what Zach and Ryan say during judging is BEAUTIFUL
I went looking for this comment - it's such an added element of chaos, I love it 😂
This was a fabulous addition to this show. I didn't know I needed it until we got it! ❤
I was laughing so hard the whole time, I LOVE this addition it's just so much more chaotic 😂😂
77
Specifically Jonny saying the lines with the look of "oh god please, I don't wanna say this, it feels like my body's getting eaten by ants"
Kat having to remind Jonny of his actual nickname had me CRYING.
New fave episode of my favorite series of y’all’s!
Time stamp?
@@Gennie13 38:35
@@MissKootenay thanks!!
The fact that the chefs can partially hear the kitchen below them as the pitch rises in panic is pure gold 😂😂☠️ stay strong 🥲
I think they're just on the other side of the wall or building, I don't think they're on different floors.
I’ve never laughed harder than that judging.
you looked like you were going to explode 🤣
Johnny do they just keep you locked up in the try office
I just want to say the minute judging started happening I WAS SCREAM LAUGHING AHAHAHA - it was PERFECTION
I was DYING and having coughing fits during that judging!! 🤣
Hahahahah. Very understandable. Loved you in the episode❤❤ hope you'll be back a lot❤
If Kat is willing to come back, please please bring her back. She is DELIGHTFUL and complements the energy so well.
I initially wasn't sure what to make of her, but she has a delightfully dry sense of humor. She was a lot of fun
Imagine her and Keith paired together. 😂
@@BeckGho Ooh they'd be great
i LOVED her she was so funny!
I second this 🙌🏽
when they show what the dish is supposed to look like right before the judges lift up the cover, you know the final result is going to be way off 😭
I saw that and whas like "😦... o no"
Kat instructing Zach to have Ryan teach him how to make the meringue was very resourceful.
god the way the chefs parroted everything the idiots said during judging was one of the funniest fucking ideas
That was the best addition to my already favorite series 😂
100 agree!
best part of the vid for me hands down probably the hardest ive laughed watching a try guys video 😭😭
77
petition fir the channel name change from the try guys to the idiots
“What’s your nickname?”
“Thiccums…. Oh! Jonny Cakes!” 😅😂
and Kat having to REMIND HIM of his nick name!!!
THE WAY I HOWLED AT THIS PART 😂😂😂😂
A thousand times this, what in the world did he think she was asking 🤣🤣
Nobody calls them "nicknames" anymore, so I totally get where he went off track 😂
I think he’s become so used to being called Jonny Cakes he’s basically established it as his real name 😂
The fact that Johnny still wants to be on the show is a miracle. Whatever you're paying him, it's not enough
I absolutely lost it when ryan bruléed the meringue ice cream drip on the floor😂😂
I was looking for this comment I was dying
“My name is Ryan, and my favorite thing to make is reservations” I’m dying 😂😂😂😂😂
Me fr
You know what is bizarre is that I literally thought his favourite thing to make is “his reservations” 🎉but another real thing would be cooking, he does love food but obviously has non existence cooking it 😅
My favorite line because SAAAAAAAAME 😂

Whoever is in charge of getting guests for the try guys is doing a phenomenal job. Every single person they have in their videos matches the energy perfectly and it’s so entertaining
Rachel Cole is incharge of getting the judges ❤
@@whereyoubean I should’ve known since Rachel slays everything she does
They have probably learned to screen their judges' personality before inviting them and giving them a briefing of the kind of energy to expect before the filming starts because of what happened with the WAR judge who got a lot of hate (and was never invited back)
@@MickiMinach which episode was that?
@@MickiMinach which judge was the one who got a lot of hate?
“Es la verdad”
“¿Es chablerdad?”
I’m cry laughing at Johnny talking to the judges
this is the best episode yet
The way Ryan decided to Brûlée at the end while it was leaking out of the freezer 💀💀💀💀
"No shells, just the wet part of the eggs" tells me one of two things: either she has watched this series and knows what Zach is capable of, or she has worked with very small children 💀😂
Also, when she asked who she is partnered with and said, "Oh no." It probably is a giveaway that she's aware 😂
both xD
I think she prepared and watched the show, unlike Ryan 😂
The end blooper testifies to this 🤣
100% kids - the “mommy pot” too 😂
"The water needs to be boiling."
"Oh it's boiling."
Lemony Snicket comes out from the fridge, "The water was in fact, not boiling, nor had it ever been boiling..."
was looking for this
😂😂
"One might reasonably have wondered if the stove were turned on at all." 😂
And then it somehow went from cold to flash evaporation 😆
😂😂
The guest chefs and judges were perfect. Also, Jonny was just speaking for the audience when he said, "You'll look good in the kitchen, and that's what matters."
johnny being on the verge of tears throughout the entire judging and saying every line he was fed like a question is so me
also edit I literally had to watch the judging twice this might be the funniest panel ever
Ryan going in blind and not having watched a single episode is EXACTLY how he needed to debut on this show 😂😂
I cannot believe Jonny went for a baked alaska, that's like level 10 gourmet cooking skill in The Sims 4
they should try to do an episode of the burger cake or whatever it's called
Phoning It In: Sims Recipes
my thoughts exactlyyy
It also needs a long time to set properly, which they clearly didn't have.
I wonder if he wanted to give Kat the most chance to win and shine by doing something extra difficult? That was how I felt while watching
they did johnny and ryan so dirtyyy ryan was doing so good but the fact the ice cream wouldnt freeze was his only problem 😭
Kat:
We are making a thousand layer crepe suzette cake.
Me:
You're nuts, you're nuts, you're nuts. you forgot who you're working with. His name is Zach and he doesn't exactly follow instructions properly.
"I don't know how much they are playing or if they're really idiots." Oh sweet, innocent Kat! 😂
my money is on both🤣🤣
A little of column A, a little of column B....
@@shen.danielyup yup! 😂
@@jefferyrockey5353and a whole lot of chaos 😂
Oh Kat, you sweet summer child. 😂
Susan - "just finished a puzzle of 101 puppies pooping"
Zach - "where did we find her?"
I hope she's judging all season
Having watched her for DECADES on tv she’s exactly the vibe this channel needs lol
I got to rate this comment for some reason 😂 I gave it the shows appreciation of the creator one 😆
I saw Susan in the opening and was SO excited, she’s so perfect for this channel
I was shocked she'd never heard of a crepe cake before! They're even on Food Network now, lol.
Getting Sue was incredible. She is a LEGIT legend. Holy cow!!!
I feel like Zach owes his chef compensation, she was such a patient saint
I don't want Johnny or Kwesi to ever leave. They are perfect on this channel
agreed!!!
But also Jared!! He’s my new fave, so naturally hilarious
@@amomandotherstuff Yes Jared!😄 He's naturally funny and chaotic good
@@krisfinley6706 he definitely brings back the novice aspect the OGs have kind of lost. This format helps take away their advantage and never fails to crack me up. I’m really loving where they’ve gone the last couple years.
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Kat Turner absolutely has watched this show before. The way she was patiently and clearly explained things to Zach seemed to be the exact tone he needed
She also knew to tell zach no eggshells
And she returned his energy so neatly!!! That "butter chunks" duet? She is a PROFESSIONAL
I honestly love that lol she knew what to do to execute this as a duo together! I think it’s one of the many reasons I love her!
Also the communication was great. She set a fast pace and set future steps in motion to start, but was very willing to tone it back once Zach noted it 👏🤝
Agreed. She felt like a calm but also stressed soul when needed to be. Definitely about this strange men 😂
Ngl I wish we would get an update on Eugene, I know he’s busy but like surely he’s gonna be on phoning it in… hmm 🤔
i love the addition of having the chefs on the phone during judging so they’re connected, it made it so much more fun
I loved seeing Johnny compete against basically himself. The dry, self-deprecating humor is A+, we love Kat!
Kat: “the water needs to be boiling”
Zach: *lifts the pan to show water kinda simmering*
Zach: “yeah it’s boiling”
a shame that it seemed they cut him being told what he actually did wrong, as it seems the itnro shows him being told what boiling is
I lost it at Ryan torching the meringue floor puddle. 😂
Honestly the best part of the episode
The switch this season yo having the guys tell the chefs /through a phone call/ what to say during judging was a genius move
i dont know if ive evver laughed that hard. im crying. ryan was doing so well too! it was sweet he helped zach. tough break on the ice cream. it really wasn't his fault. he did so well.
Jonny fighting for his LIFE during that judging oml 🤣🤣
THE SINGULAR CHERRY 😂 IM HOWLING
Thiccum's ears were RED yo!
Johnny is always fighting for his life 😂
"I'm so sorry.... I just needed to say, you shut your.... you shut your whore mouth Jimmy" got me a lot
@@gabiluch87 🤣🤣🤣
19:20 Zach - It’s boiling!
Water - *barely simmering*
literally scrolled looking for this exact comment
Fr, and then the low water thinking at one point it would all be gone 😂
That had me 🤦🏻♀️ 😅
"Just finished a puzzle of 101 puppies pooping" has to be the best sentence by a try guys guest judge ever.
Kat basically gentle parented Zach all the way through this is amazing.
I LOVE that they’re FULLY embracing the conceit that these chefs are the ones who made the dishes.
Johnny chiming in with "I helped with the meringue" was... that got me.
I dunno why this in particular was my final breaking point, but the LONE CHERRY on top of Ryan's baked Alaska absolutely destroyed me 😂
It’s, as they say, the cherry on top
i was crYYYYing laughing. when they zoomed in, i died.
one of my favourite new parts was seeing the chefs repeat what the "idiots" were saying - also Ryan Garcia was a delight in this! And as per usual, Johnny Cakes makes it just *chef's kiss*
I love that Kat is worrying about her dessert and Jonny's just chilling on his phone.
The story of the pooping puppy puzzle followed by "she's incredible" made me laugh so hard
Seeing Susan as a judge is a top tier legendary move and I'm glad no one has forgotten about Julia Child neither in that montage!
She really matched the energy of this series, completely brilliant
It was SO good
Susan was a delight! Also, I gotta find that puzzle!
The chemistry between Johnny and Ryan is next level
I don’t think we talk about Ryan enough. He seems like he could have chemistry with everyone. He is so lovely!
@@jessicahua2470couldn’t agree more. Him sliding down the stripper pole in the chilis video lives rent free in my head
Got the salt and pepper going on too @@jessicahua2470
I didn’t know he had a wife, definitely took me by surprise lol. People are always surprised I have a wife, so I guess we’re one in the same lmao
i always forget that ryan is straight, mentioning his wife is like a jump-scare
Watching Jonny hold back laughter during the judging made this video so much funnier. I laughed throughout the whole thing. I love this series
"(What's your nickname?) Thickums. What is it? Oh, Johnny Cakes" I love this silly man, literally such a perfect addition to the Try Guy videos, istg. Him and Kwesi are just fantastic
25:57 Both chefs on the ground, Johnny crawling around and groaning in despair, the defeat in his tone.... This is a cinematic masterpiece ‼️‼️
From the minute Kat instructed Zach to only put the wet parts of the eggs in the mix and not the shells, I knew she would fit in alright 😂
Same
For me it was "that sounds a little intimate but I'm willing to go there with you" lol
For me it was ‘butter chunks butter chunks, boo boo boo’ and the following cursing lmao she’s great at commanding her darling dumbass
Them adding in having to be told what to say this season made me WHEEZE “yes my spicy mamacita”😭
Jonny is easily one of my favorites on the channel,,, the proximity of “es La verdad” to thickkums almost killed me 😭
Ambitious of Johnny for making Ryan do a level 10 gourmet sims dish
The chaos in the kitchen did match the chaotic energy of a Sim if the kitchen was on fire at least
As someone who is not very inept in the kitchen but a career celebrity chef in the Sims 4, I definitely thought the same thing. 😂
@@nicky740 Ironically enough, setting something in fire is the one thing they somehow failed to do.
Kat: It's not complicated
Recipe: Has 17 components and 150 ingredients. Also it involves making perfect crepes and learning to flambe.
french people eating crêpe flambée : what, like it's hard? *elle woods has entered the chat*
The minute she revealed the dish I audibly said ‘oh no’
She described the dish and I was thinking "wow! She's ambitious" at the same time she said it's really simple. Made me appreciate how low my expectations were 😂
@@_bebeboudeur_we used to make it as children 🙃
Then again I thought both recipes sounded fairly straight forward, especially the baked Alaska, so I guess it’s all a matter of perspective.
I love how the end has a kind of impractical joker vibe to it with Zach and Ryan telling jonny and Kat what to say lmaooo
I LOVE the chefs saying what the boys are saying in the back. Perfect addition to an already perfect show.
The entirety of Johnny's judging had me crying with laughter. From holding back his smiles to calling the most prestigious judge they've had on record as a spicy mamacita 😂😂😂 I think I could watch this ten more times.
Nah the "I made the meringue 😊" outta nowhere like a child boasting had me dead
For me it was the “You shut your whore mouth” because JOHNNY DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO SAY IT LMAO THAT WAS ZACH NOT RYAN
I was actually crying 😂😂
"We're straight, but are we?" had me dying
(cue the bi song from crazy ex-girlfriend)
@@_bebeboudeur_OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW AND SONG.
Zach just figured out bisexuals.
The chemistry between everyone involved in this episode is unmatched. I spit out my water laughing during the judging portion!
I think the fact that Zach put heat into the freezer on top of the ice cream bowl is what made it melt.
38:36
“What’s your nickname?”
“thickkums?”
“What is it?”
“jonny cakes?”
“oh, jonny cakes!”
HAHAHAHA I CRY
I HAVENT LAUGHED THAT HARD IN SO LONGGG 😂😂😂😂
It’s like asking Batman what his real name is
As an Alaskan, I wanna thank Ryan and Jonny for talking about the impact of climate change up here. That baked Alaska was really representing the 49th State
Ryan and Jonny are my favorite of the extended cast, what a treat to have them compete together
I can’t believe you guys found a way to improve on this format! This episode was so so fun and getting more of the judging shots with Zach and Ryan’s quips was so perfect. Thanks for all the work you put into this
This is probably one of the funniest Phoning episodes yet. Ryan flambée-ing the meringue on the floor below the freezer had me practically falling out of my chair! 🤣
Same I was screaming 😂😂😂😂
At least he didn’t give up 😂🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely laughed out loud at that
The phone call during judging is absolutely my favorite change this season. I was actually dying the whole time
Jonny talks like he's being held hostage when he says the ear fed jokes 😂😂😂
I don’t think I’ve ever rewatched a video this many times. This episode was hilarious! Specifically the judging portion.
😂
13:02 "CAN I HAVE MY CHEF BACK? 🥺"
*deadpan* "my basketball coach said i run like a girl. ...so this is TRAUMA. *flicks ball*" 😂😂😂😂
Honestly, I think it should be considered a high achievement to win this show. Not only does it show your talent as a chef, but it also proves how well you can command a kitchen.
Communicating to a team of trained staff is difficult enough, but communicating to a dummy who doesn’t know your recipe and likely doesn’t have much skill? And to end up with a decent product? That’s skill👍👍👍
Fr, Unfortunately it is normally a decent product 🤣🤣
Zach wasn’t whisking lmao, he was calmly stirring
This is 100% one of my new favorite episodes. Not just of Phoning it in, but of any kitchen-related episode y'all have done before. Every last one of y'all, from the contestants to the chefs and the judges, crushed it.
Without a Recipe: I was pure chaos
Phoning it in: Hold my beer
I'm sorry but Ryan bruleeing the floor meringue was the funniest thing I've ever seen
Loved Kat - she came in with a strategy and executed it, but wasn’t super rigid or sweaty about it. And this episode was just hilarious from top to bottom.
Kat dying at Ryan’s cake was hilarious
6:38 "No shells just the wet part of the eggs" Kat 100% saw the episode where Zach asked Jonny specifically "with or without shell" and Jonny replied, "Zach, baby when have you had shell?" 😭
or johnny warned her
The chefs repeating everyone Zach and Ryan say had me crying 😂 I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard
saaame! 😂 best video in a while
I’m loving that addition from previous seasons
IDK if Josh is in the intro because he was here last season, but if he or anyone else from mythical kitchen is on this season I will be so happy
Probably my favorite episode so far, this was hysterical! Love the addition of mini basketball and the chefs saying what they're hearing in their ear during judging!
My favorite thing about Phoning It In is watching these professional chefs with their super focused, perfectionist, competitive energy, become completely unhinged. I love it when they play along with the rest of the cast’s humor. So entertaining and funny 😂
NOT RYAN BRULEEING THE MERINGUE ON THE FLOOR 💀
I lost it when Ryan blowtorched the floor with the glob of meringue XD XD
I’m so happy that this series is back! But the elevation in the complexity of recipes, the mix of new and old judges and chefs is mind-blowing! I love how Zach and Ryan have control over the chefs’ words during the judging. Hilarious! Well done, producers and team! ❤❤❤
The shade towards Johnny in the intros is amazing 😭💀
It really shows how long he’s been around that they are treating him similarly to how they treat the original guys (with light hearted yet cutting ribbing) ❤❤❤
Ryan panicking over being alone while Johnny was having some basketball therapy was so funny to me.
when it’s their first time on phoning it in it’s always super funny 😂😂
Same johnny is such a great addition to their tesm
Jonny speaking in spanish has me dying, this one is one of the funniest phoning it in episode yet.
Also Jonny flirting with Ryan at the beginning, maybe im just a big fun of Jonny and i found him hilarious
That Baked Alaska reveal even made the professional chef break with laughter. That was a glorious disaster piece!
"You know how on The Godfather, every time you see oranges on screen, it means someone is going to die?"
"Well, plot twist: same on this show."
Can't say I'm surprised.
She said that and I was like perfect comment
I loved that part!
Chef Kat was honestly a delight. Watching her stony-faced sing "butter chunks, butter chunks" had me kicking my feet and giggling.
Zach will never forgive and never forget a certain someone ruining their food network show 😂
I remember being so excited for that
Oh my god, the energy between Johnny and Ryan was absolutely awesome!
"short king cake" Kat needs to come back 😂😂😂
I honestly did not expect Kat to fit in so well, but she was delightful!
And wow! Susan Feniger?! That's amazing 🎉🎉🎉 her quirkiness works with them so well.❤
Both Susan and Kat fit in like they've been here the whole time.
@@romywhite290Hats off to Rachel and whoever else is involved in finding the experts 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That was one of the best cooking episodes on Try Guys ever - can’t wait for the rest of these!!
Kat was an amazing guest to have as a contestant for this series! Her quick wit, easy going nature, likability, and sense of humor were amazing. Can’t wait for the next episode! 🥳
