My friend with ADHD repairs Apple tech like iPads and iPhones; handling small tools to fix even smaller parts. This guy can't shuffle a deck?This is bull.
The whole vgc community and Wolfie will probably say they have some mental illness if they ever have action taken against them.
I had a similar issue that this person had, but I never complained about it, and just re-sleeved my deck and moved on. But the reason I'm bringing it up is that I find it REALLY hard to believe that the powerful cards just happened to be the ones that are marked.
As someone with ADHD I feel obligated to say that it means you are easily distracted. What people often forget is it also creates hyper attentive behavior in topics of interest. If he's a VGC player, that means he's _interested_ in it, so his disorder would make it *easier* to notice a bent corner, so the only reason for a card to be damaged in his deck is either if he did it himself, or it happened _very_ recently! My money's on the former. It is very upsetting how little people know about mental disorders.
I hate that this guy (the guy that cheated and had marked cards) used a disability and his ethnicity and how he felt like he was being "excluded" based on these attributes as an excuse for his cheating. He broke the rules and was punished justly for his actions. I'm actually surprised that a judge did their job correctly, but then again he is not a "popular competitive player" that was caught cheating (that I know of). As a person of color, I am offended by this. (I'm not trying to virtue signal, rally people, or do anything like this guy was doing in this video)
As a person with ADHD myself, I know full well how difficult it is to not bend corners on cards. But I have a simple solution: if you're actually diagnosed, get a prescription for medication that covers that issue, then never touch your cards unless you're currently medicated. Saved my hide multiple times. If the event lasts long enough where my meds are worn off by the time it's over, just get someone to help you handle your cards as you clean up at the end.

I have Autism and ADHD, granted we have our limits, but using it as an excuse it NOT right, it makes those with Disabilities feel alienated because of People like them, Even with me Having ADHD, I go to Yu-Gi-Oh Tournaments every so often, and I’ve NEVER had Problems Shuffling with Sleeved Cards, but with Cards without Sleeves, of course it’s going to cause Damage if you’re rough with them, it Blows my Mind that People with Disabilities use it as a Reason to Break the Rules, and then feel Victimised if they’re caught out, unbelievable…

They should just make tcg digital. They give you a digital deck from the cards you bring, with that most if not all cheating goes away.
I have ADHD much like 90 % of the world and I think this is bogus excuse. The only thing that bugs me is that the judges just pick and choose who can cheat or not basically, just shows how bad the corruption is but people won't accept it.
No matter one’s Race, Religion, Age (if an adult), Gender, Sexuality (only straight, gay/lesbian, bi, and ace should exist, anything else extra), etc. If you lie, steal, cheat, or hurt/kill others (if its not self defense), you MUST be punished the same way or worse. If a person has a disorder (and its proven and they admit it does not excuse them) that hinders them, we should consider that in their punishment. NO FUCKING EXCUSES!
For the algorithm! Also if you have a habit of damaging your cards while shuffling, then use a different shuffle method

It may be believed if they were random cars with damage but if the main cor of your deck has damag on the corners its definitely cheating because what are the chances of the main cards to have damag on them only.
Funny thing my friend was the judge who deck checked him and the only reason he noticed the messed up sleeves is because of his adhd

I was starting to empathize, before he described a literal rule break, and then the "inclusivity" nonargument made sense, and then mentioning the overdiagnosed condition... oh okay. These people literally can't take an L, dude doubled down on the marked deck and gave a bunch of total non-arguments with buzzwords, which only serve to invalidate people who really get injust non-inclusive punishments, such as the guy with disabilities and the pronoun case.
Marked cards / bent corners is one of the MAIN deck regularity rules to follow, how does someone try to shark it by mentioning freaking adhd even??? Lugia/archeops being marked make sense, but powerful colorless only if he bent a different corner, because you don't want them in your hand, rather, in the deck (all of these cards off the prizes of course). Should've marked yveltal and radiant zard in the 2 remaining corners as well, bud.

I have adhd. It leads to you being distracted from a lot of things, but extremely focused on this that are of interest to you. If he plays TCG, it’s because he takes interest in it, so if he has ADHD, he will be extremely attentive on everything he does. It is also objectively dumb to think that having adhd gives you an excuse to break rules, as if that were the case, everybody would say they have adhd and then it would become a problem
Them: They shouldn't teat us in this way, they need training and they shouldn't be so strict
Everyone else: Your a cheater, a dirty little cheater who doesn't have the skill to play fare

Me: Imagine cheating, getting caught and then saying that the rules are too strict (flash backs of WARZONE 2019 before the anti-cheat) Perfectly balanced as all things should be
I have Autism and ADHD, if I saw a sleeve was damaged, I'd quickly change it. Using a disability as a excuse for your cheating doesn't help your case.
The rules don't ask WHY the cards are marked.
They were, and the individual admits they understood and agreed they were marked.

The part that gets me is the not a pattern argument. If two cards share a name than that is a pattern, if all of my derivates of a card are marked that is a pattern even if I only have 2
This guy was just mad for getting caught cheating, and then uses (or is it more like, abusing?) his disability to try to justify it.
I'm inclined to believe this guy is cheating, but this is also why I always take spare sleeves. In case they get damaged or marked.
If he couldn’t shuffle easily without damaging sleeves why wouldn’t he have his opponent shuffle them. And the fact it just happens to be those specific cards
Tournament entry/travel costs are more expensive than the average deck. This is why I riffle shuffle. I'd rather damage my cards and keep my sleeves undamaged. I don't need game losses like this. Also, I went to college with Ahmed, and I know he isn't a cheater as far as I could tell.

Saying cheating is a bit hard here, having damaged cards is just somehing which happens from time to time, and somethimes there will be a pattern. Also i totally understand when you are salty for getting a game loss so unnecessarily, it really sucks. But also come on, saying that the company isnt inclusive enough because you got a game loss for marked cards... Like, if you would have been disqualified or would have been banned, maybe you would have a case here, but for a game loss, thats just childish.
