I hope Drake maye works out BUT he needs to work on a lot of things ! Like any other ROOKIE QB tho, only time will tell but if he doesn’t make plays and live up to the “hype” then that’s what JOE MILTON WAS DRAFTED FOR “via pick from Mac jones trade” 🤔 OVERALL he is a generational talent and could be the starter in the next year or 2 he might even beat maye out !!! 6 years in college got to sit and learn a lot and than when he did get his playing time he made the most of it. HES AN ATHLETIC FREAK AND can play QB at a elite level 😅 people will be shocked how good Milton is in the next year or 2 😮

I thought Polk was a reach. He was the WR3 on Washington when McMillian and Odunze were both healthy. But he might be able to turn into a good WR3!or decent WR2 at some point. Thought they had better options on the board. Probably could have traded back and still got him. But with Pats having Washington’s wr coach, I figured they would go this route.
It's hilarious because the Pats arent drafting someone shorter than 5'9", out of a whoknowswhat D3 school in the 7th xD

He’s very similar to Stefon diggs. Body type , plays faster than timed, great catch radius , great off the line. Good after the catch. We got a good one man
LFG Pats!!! When Drake starts, Baker Polk Pop will all be problems for opposing defenses. Not to mention we might still be in business for Higgins. Higgins as a #1 would be scary with these dudes.
Agreed! I'd like Higgins way more than either 49er. More than Ridley too. I hope Higgins isn't too hefty a price salary wise.
Higgins disappeared without Chase on the other side of him. He was inconsistent as the #1 guy. Burrows being injured didn't help.

@bensantellano ya I think he can be a true #1 with his size, speed, catching, and route running. I don't trust deebo with his injuries and Higgins just does it for me instead of Ayuik. But you're right Higgins price might be the hold up but to be honest I would give him whatever he's asking for. We're going to have the money to pay him but we just started Mayes rookie contract. Perfect time to go all in on a solid #1 wr talent.

This is insane. I've known Javon since 2019, my dad coached him for a year in high school, he went to play for my favorite team (Bama), and now he's getting drafted. I hope to follow in his footsteps, a year ago I was ranked #1 receiver in class of 2029, but I didn't play this past season.

Absolutely an elite WR
As a diehard UCF fan, I strongly disagree with him being a sleeper. He basically gets zero separation. He had 2 games for UCF this past season where he almost singlehandily lost the game. He had to apologize on social media to fans twice this season for how poorly he played. His lack of speed makes every catch look amazing, but its because he can't get past the hip of college corners. Go watch the highlight reel of marvin harrison or nabers this year, they look downright boring because of how wide open they get. Great wr's are able to get distance.
John rice Plumlee is a complete bum and his wobbly cupcake throws are the reason for a big amount of the lack of separation. Plumlee is pathetic

People sleeping on Polk and Baker like they don't know where Elliot Wolfe came from! The Packers are the kings of finding WR gems in rounds 2-4 and thats where Elliot came from. Given the history + talent of both Polk and Baker, I think both guys will be hits. I see a lot of Rashee Rice in Jay'Lin Polk and fellow Pats WR Kendrick Bourne in Javon Baker
If he truly becomes a top 10 receiver, he should legally change his last name to Popcorn. It’s similar to what Chad Johnson did with Ochocinco. But if he changes it early in his career, he will have every kid wearing a Popcorn shirt. Marketing is everything in this league and there’s a fortune in endorsements

I'm excited, he reminds of David Givens, a lot. Virtually the same size and speed, both contact receivers who can make a wild catch and take a hit; I think Givens was more powerful, but I think Baker has more spring. Seems like an outstanding target, hopefully he has better luck with injuries than Givens did.

I hate drafting WR’s going into terrible situations and offenses. Rarely works out. I like Baker a lot but just drafted Burton over him 🤷🏻♂️
Baker oversells his routes which sometimes leaves him wide open, but most the time works against him. Same thing Jerry Jeudy does.
Seems like the Pats have 5 WR3’s. Interested to see the target distribution with Baker/Polk/Osborne/Bourne/Douglas/Henry/ even Stevenson.

First Demario Douglas who I view as a smaller version of Deebo Samuel with no injury as of right now, and now Javon Baker who will fill in the role at the outside. As a Patriots fan, I’m stoked for our new look at the receiving core.

a lot of talented guys fell, not every team is WR needy. Patriots got really lucky with this draft, hopefully it works out, but they look like better prospects than most of the guys bill reached for in the past.
How quickly we forget about guys like Puka Nacua. Why was he not a 1st rounder? N'Keal Harry was a 1st rounder. Why wasn't he WR1 talent? When a guy is drafted doesn't decide how good a player ends up being

Drafting polk in the second round was stupid.they passed on McConkey and that's absurd.and Mitchell can actually be a number1 X receiver.very foolish
We will see. McConkey didn't quite fit with what they needed at WR and Mitchell is a large question mark. Patriots cant afford to take risks and draft one kind of receiving talent.

@@aaronl8609 according to our gm he is, and steve smith had high praises for him as well. continually improved throughout college. both steve and wolf offered similar praises for polk, I'd be more optimistic.
Polk was overrated
I went out of my way for once and compared all the receivers drafted before and after him into the 4th round. Polk is a quality safe 2nd round pick who was not going to last into the 3rd round. Continually improved throughout college. Great YAC, good all around skills and physical attributes. AD and Franklin could potentially be better, but both have asterisks. I actually think if franklin fell to the pats they still would've picked baker.
