You and your kid are precious, looks like you have a good relationship. I have a Snowcone maker but the problem with it is you have to freeze water in a container that came with it. The container is basically a Tupperware container but it's a specific size so the block fits in the machine. It's a pain in the ass because regular ice cubes just bounce around in it 😒 but when it's middle of summer and I remember to freeze up one of those cubes I enjoy root beer or Pina colada. Oh the other thing is if instant more than one I have to freeze a thing ahead of time, put it in a baggie in the freezer then freeze another one rinse repeat until I have for a 5 and it takes almostb24 hours for this thing to freeze solid, it's a pain if you want more than one, you really got to plan ahead. However, it's much smaller than this thing

When I was a kid my mom made us snow cones from an old ice shaver. You had to fill it with water and freeze overnight and when it was ready you turn the crank on top. There were colors on it that turned with the crank. I have fond memories of that snow cone maker.

Hello from Indiana. We had snowcones earlier today it was perfect weather for the kids to enjoy snowcones while cruising down the road with the top and doors off the Jeep. They'll have fond memories and.maybe buy a snowcone maker when they're older. Snowcones cost $2.50 here, so two visits (4 people) would pay for a machine to have at home.

I feel like it's a little large. I get that it's decorative, But a machine that large should at least be able to keep the snow cold to prevent it from melting. It should also have a place to store ice cubes, if not form them itself.
I mean I get that that would make it much more expensive, but this just seems like way too large of a machine to accomplish what you could probably do with a small blender.

The church I went to as a young adult had what was called "The Waffle Wagon" in the local fair every year. We made malted belgian waffles. You got a scoop of ice cream with your choice of topping. They were the best. I worked that Waffle wagon every summer for years and I never got tired of them. Now that I'm in my fourties man do I miss those waffles. Not the same as doing that 24/7 day in day out but it was a blast every year for a week.

Probably not as fun or nostalgic but couldn't you put a chilled bowl inside the machine to collect the chipped ice and put it in the freezer right after it's chipped to prevent it from melting inside the machine? Seems it would be helpful when making a lot of them at a time. How much finer is the ice than the crushed ice setting on your through the door ice maker? Do you think starting with crushed ice instead of cubes would speed it up so you can make more in a five minute time span?

Koolaid n sugar make better syrups. Or frozen fruit juice.
I use 1/2-2 cup sugar plus 1-2 cups water in a condiment bottle with the koolaid packet. You can use stevia instead of sugar but I didn't care for the taste. Frozen fruit juice mixed with some water also works. I like limade particularly.

Wow where can I buy one I love it 🥰. My son loves snow cones and this would be so much faster instead of my hand turner snow cone maker.

Back here in the East sno-cones are not very popular, since we have Italian ices (called water-ice in Philly), which is a much more refined rendering of an icy dessert. Never really liked sno-cones since they shrink in comparison.

They do look great. The way we ate them was just bury your face in the cone. Mix all 3 flavors together also. I think they tell you to run it for 5 minutes so you don't overheat the motor. Great review.

Edward Kellogg ---We did this at a neighborhood cookout and I loved that when I’d ask what their favorite flavor was-meaning for the cone...”blue” was almost always the answer😆Never blueberry, cherry or even grape.

You know what’s really good? Plop a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle of that snow cone after it gets like a slushy...

We have that same machine. I’m 20 and still use it! It helps beat the Phoenix heat!

Looks fun! Anyone have a Mr Frosty as a child? Hand-cranked, it was a fair amount of work for a small child. If you lost the plunger to push the ice down, you could easily hurt your fingers. This snowcone maker looks much better. Can you ship some over to Europe urgently? Currently the hottest summer since records began!

I saw this at a local store and I was interested in buying it but wasn't sure if it was worth spending my money on. Can't wait to watch this review.

Can you link it or tell us the product name, please?
I guess it also looks more simple/minimalistic since this brand who he reviewed makes everything very stylized for get a "Nostalgia" vibe.

I guess it cost $34 but still: it's better in every way except aesthetics. It's called Hawaiian Shaved Ice S900A

i think you could put an ice block, like you do with bbq's in the cooler box, so the shaved ice falls on a frozen block (you can wrap it to make food safe). I kinda like it, what's the cilinder in the corner for?

Freeze some flavored powder drinks into ice cubes and save by skipping the syrup, might turn out even better!

i don't remember using a straw or a spoon. You would just eat it from the cone cup that would always start to leak and then run down your arm. And always the mandatory 6x brain freeze. Some of the best childhood memories.

I used to make this with Kool-Aid but it's not as good. Just putting it in a regular cup, freezing it, then pressing the sides of the cup to loosen it and flip it upside down. The top was always extra hard and the flavor of the Kool-Aid shifted so parts would taste bland. I could see myself getting this machine at some point though, because I love eating ice and would enjoy it just to crunch on.

We run a Snow Cone business here in my town and we have the top of the line shaved ice makers.
But for personal use this seems to be a pretty good deal.
