That Hot Doglicious would be great for after school snacks. It’s easy enough for an older child to use, even with the 2 step cooking time to get the bun steamed just right. And a single hot dog is enough to keep an older kid held over until dinner is ready without spoiling their appetite.

For those that choose the oven, you could dice an onion while it cooks, or prep whatever else you might like to put on there. It looks like the buns would fit better if you put them all in sideways as well. The hotdogger may work better on some buns better than others. If I were to use it, I would poke the bun from both ends, put some mustard on one end, and use the wiener to spread it as you load it up.

Pedantic comment: The LEDs probably *are* blinking, albeit in a way that is imperceptible to the human eye. Your camera's shutter speed has timing which allows the blinking to be visible. Steve Mould discusses this issue at ua-cam.com/video/c6NFuJMfmYU/v-deo.html .

In Czech Republic, the hotdogger would find some use, since our hotdogs are prepared differently. First you take a roll/bun without a slit, cut one tip off, make a hole with some sort of spike, but not completely through, pour ketchup or mustard inside the hole and then insert cooked sausage inside. This way everything is conveniently kept inside the bun. So the Hotdogger would make some sense here, but usually our spikes are smooth and made out of metal, some even toast the bun from inside.

I trick I use sometimes with the hot dog toaster is to take kitchen shears and trim a smidge off the buns before you put them in. Keeps the edges from getting wedged in the corners so they don't burn or get stuck in there as much. Much easier to get them back out. Plus, if you're like me and like plain old bread as a snack sometimes, you got something to nosh on while you're waiting on your lunch. Or you can feed 'em to the dogs or chuck 'em outside for the birds or whatever. Put the condiments on first and lay the hot dog on top (little trick I learned from my hometown hot dog joint) to keep everything as contained as possible and you're good to go.

You said, Wander hot dog buns, lol, so funny. We used to have a Wonder Bread Bakery in our crappy city of Toledo, Ohio. It was the coolest, all their products, fresh breads, and the buns were the greatest you ever had. Great review and nice memories of the bakery.

To the timer, my cheapie apartment size washing machine does the same. Its a cheap timer mechanism just has a little extra tick room but the product turns off when it says, at least my washing machine does.

16:28 I wouldn't be too worried about the timer still ticking when the toaster is off. I've had a few "toaster ovens" like that. It's a purely mechanical timer that cuts the power when it reaches zero and rings the bell, but the on/off switch cutts the power even further upstream than that, so it's fine.

Edit: yeah what I describe is often done, where there is a microcontroller. Here, as pointed out in the replies, there doesnt seem to be any
Im an electronics engineer, and here's the in depth (yet simple) of why the lights only blink on camera. It's caused by a trick used to make stuff cheaper, and its called multiplexing.
Basically, a red LED requires you to connect 2 V from postive to negative. What these people do is that they use one pin for both LEDs, with one LED between the pin and 0 V, and the other LED between the pin an 2 V.
Now here's the magic part: turn the pin off, and now it has 0V on it, so the led between 2V and the pin turns on.
Now turn the pin on at 2V, the LED between it and 0V will turn on, and the other now sees 2V on both sides so it turns off. Technically, only one LED can ever be on.
So what do they do when they need both on? Easy. They turn the pin on and off real fast. Your eyes just see dimmer LEDs and that's it.
Now your camera has a timer, it tells it when to start the next of the 30 frames a second among many other things. Similarly, the toaster has a timer too, thought it might just be counting the grid pulses which are fixed at a very specific frequency. Anyway, it is statistically very improbable for two fixed frequency things to line up, hence why you see the strobe effect go from horrible to ok. But also hence why helicopter blades can be filmed stationary, they dont have a fixed timing

@Lassi Kinnunen oh wait, youre right, I have no idea why when writing this comment I was thinking of the toaster. Doh
Yes, you are very right, these LEDs are always on, so yeah its just a simple dropper circuit.
      Talk about overengineering lol

At 14:43 looks like the Hot Dog Oven was cooking unevenly, the dogs look (at least on camera) like they're nearly raw on the right side, and crisply cooked on the left. The dog in front also looks like it "plumped" on the left and is still narrow to the right.

Nostalgia also has a rolling hot dog cooker that was not very impressive. Took forever to heat up and cook the dogs. However, that said, I also have their toaster unit. It’s great! In fact, I had some trouble with the push down handle and they replaced the unit free of charge. Great customer service. My favorite unit? The “Hot Dog Hero”. I got it at Toys R Us, and for a great steamed hot dog, it works better that any of the other cookers. Cost was about $5.00, and the dogs are come out hot and crunchy. Also, the unit barks when it’s done cooking. Drives my service dog nuts.
